© 2018 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. The purpose of this study is the theoretical substantiation and experimental verification of the forms and methods of volunteering as a means of preparing future educators to work with children at risk. A case study was conducted at the Institute of Psychology and Education of Kazan Federal University. 100 students (48 members of the Kazan Youth Korczak Society "Sun for Kids," and 52 non-members of the society) took part in it. In our study, the following techniques were used: M. Rokeach's methods of studying value orientations; I. V. Ivanova's methods aimed at identifying indicators of readiness to work with children at risk; a questionnaire designed to study the students' attitude to volunteer activities of a humanistic orientation. The experimental results showed positive dynamics of the level of the students' readiness to work with children at risk, and the impact of volunteer activities within the program called "We are strong together"

© 2016 by iSER, International Society of Educational Research. The aim of the article is to determine the specifics of the creation and methodology of the use of e-teaching materials on humanities in the training system of future teachers. The leading approaches to the study of this problem are student-centered and personally-meaningful approaches to teaching leading to realizing the need for new educational opportunities associated with the use of modern information technologies in the training of future teachers of humanities. The article explains the pedagogical rationale of creating and using e-teaching materials in teaching humanities, based on the integration of subject and methodological knowledge, skills and experience in the training of future teachers; identifies and rationalizes the requirements (integrative framework, gradual development of materials, marked structure, individualization of the teaching process, the strategic character of knowledge assimilation, openness of the system) for the design of e-teaching materials for the humanities disciplines in the training of future teachers; highlights principles of integrative educational process on the basis of e-teaching materials (prioritizing e-teaching materials in the educational process; the integrity and continuity of the didactic cycle carried out with the help of e-teaching materials); grounds organizational and methodological conditions of the effective use of e- teaching materials in future teachers’ training (students’ needs and motivation, cognitive independence, control and diagnostics); focuses on the developed methodology of using e-teaching materials for the humanities disciplines in the training of future teachers (on the basis of the course "Teaching proficiency")

The article deals with the pragmatic analysis of code switching on the basis of comparative study of advertising discourse texts in English, French and Russian in order to find out current trends in the use of the dominant foreign pragmonyms in advertising texts. In determining a communicative intention of the sender of advertising messages the pragmalinguistic analysis allowed to establish basic and extended switching functions. By applying the methods of generalization and comparison, the component and contextual analysis of the language units as part of the context in different matrix languages, the selection of the advertising text, often subjected to code switching, have been identified. Thus, systematization of structural features of code switching in advertising discourse in different languages presented in the study contributes to developing translation aspects of advertising messaging, as well as issues of multilingualism in sociolinguistics. In addition, the analysis of pragmatic functions of switching and structural models and linguistic appearance of pragmonyms allows to more competently create and edit advertising texts for specific target audiences. In general, the technology of the study of the advertising text for linguistic code switching opens further prospects for comparative analysis in this area based on the material of other genres and discourses to more accurately identify pragmatic functions of present code changes

© Author(s).The purpose of the study was the theoretical justification and experimental verification of content, complex forms and methods to ensure effective prevention and psycho- pedagogical correction of bullying in school. 53 teenage students from Kazan took part in the experiment. A complex of diagnostic techniques for the detection of violence and bullying in the school environment was used: «Questionnaire for diagnosis of violence and bullying at school» by Su-Jeong Kim (V. R. Petrosyants’s modification), The Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory (BDI), Emotional Empathic Tendency Scale (EETS) by A. Mehrabian & N. Epstein. Based on the results of ascertaining experiment, a program containing the forms and methods of prevention and psycho-pedagogical correction of bullying among younger teenagers in school was developed. Statistical analysis of empirical research was carried out by standard techniques of mathematical statistics (t- Student's t test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient)

A Bayesian Belief Network to Infer Incentive Mechanisms to Reduce Antibiotic Use in Livestock Production

    Get PDF
Efficient policy intervention to reduce antibiotic use in livestock production requires knowledge about the rationale underlying antibiotic usage. Animal health status and management quality are considered the two most important factors that influence farmersâ¿¿ decision-making concerning antibiotic use. Information on these two factors is therefore crucial in designing incentive mechanisms. In this paper, a Bayesian belief network (BBN) is built to represent the knowledge on how these factors can directly and indirectly determine antibiotic use and the possible impact on economic incentives. Since both factors are not directly observable (i.e. latent), they are inferred from measurable variables (i.e. manifest variables) which are influenced by these factors. Using farm accounting data and registration data on antibiotic use and veterinary services in specialized finisher pig production farms, a confirmatory factor analysis was carried out to construct these factors. The BBN is then parameterized through regression analysis on the constructed factors and manifest variables. Using the BBN, possible incentive mechanisms through prices and management training are discusse

© 2015 by the authors. Today the scope of international activity of Russia has increased. In this regard, there has appeared a steady demand for a good knowledge of one of the European languages (English, French or German). However, in teaching university students there is still a number of problems: poor development of pedagogical conditions for increasing the efficiency of university students’ foreign language speech activity; the problem of the evaluation criteria of speech development level and technological organization of students’ language development; ignorance of its methodological and linguodidactic foundations; uncoordinated study of foreign and native languages; lack of consideration of the motivational features of student’s linguistic personality formation, etc. The article reveals the essence, structure and content of foreign language speech activity. The use of problem-solving communication speech and grammar exercises ensures the successful formation of foreign language speech activity in the learning process that forms a meaningful basis for speech activity. The article determines the principles of its organization and presents a structural and functional model of the development of foreign language speech activity. The results of experimental work suggest the viability of structural and functional model of university students’ speech activity formation. The model shows a correlation of its components, justifies pedagogical conditions for its effective implementation, reveals students’ speech activity development level, provides the criteria, proposes diagnostic tools, as well as the complex of problem-solving and communication methods for the future formation of the main types of students’ speech activity that provide professional character and meaningful basis for foreign language speech activity
