    Potencial utilization of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) in Bone Bay

    The skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) resource in Bone bay has long been exploited, but information about the sustainable potential of this fish resource in Bone bay waters is still very limited. The aim of this research is to estimate potential of fish resources that include catch per unit effort (CPUE ), the maximum sustainable yield (MSY), optimum effort, exploitation rate and total allowable catch (TAC) of skipjack tuna in the waters of Bone bay. This study uses time series data, namely annual data from the fisheries statistics report at Marine and Fisheries Service, South Sulawesi Province from 2006-2015. The method used to estimate the potential of fish resources in this study is the surplus production method with the Schaefer model. The results showed that the average production and standard efforts in the 10-year period were 14689.7 tons and 914 standard units respectively. The estimation results obtained MSY and optimum effort per year are 22561.4 tons and 1730 standard units, and allowed catches (TAC) of 18049.2 tons per year. The level of exploitation of skipjack tuna resources in the waters of Bone Bay does not over exploited every year except in 2017.Keywords: potential of fish resources, skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis), MSY, TAC, Bone bay

    Mangroves have an important function in the food chain, which can support the life of various types of aquatic biota. One of the communities whose life cycle is relatively settled in the mangrove ecosystem is the macrozoobenthos. This study aims to analyze the relationship between mangrove species and the macrozoobenthos epifauna community including species composition, frequency of occurrence, density and Margalef index (species richness) in Suppa District, Kab. Pinrang. The research was conducted in April 2020 - June 2020 in Suppa District, Pinrang Regency, data identification was carried out at the Water Quality Laboratory of the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries Sciences, Hasanuddin University Makassar. The research stages include determining the location and research station, taking macrozoobenthos samples, measuring water quality, and analyzing data. The data collected included species composition, macrozoobenthos abundance, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index, and nMDS. (non Multidimensional Scaling). The number of macrozoobenthos epifauna species found based on observations at the station with Avicennia sp. mangrove species andmangrove species Rhizopora sp. There are 5 species from 3 classes, namely Gastropods, Bivalves, and Malacostraca.. The abundance of macrozoobenthos epifauna in Rhizopora sp. higher than that of macrozoobenthos epifauna at stations with Avicennia sp. mangroves were Avicennia sp.dominated by gastropod macrozoobenthos epifauna,species, Cerithidea cingulatawhile macrozoobenthos epifauna at the station was Rhizopora sp. has a high level of uniformity and diversity which is indicated by the even number of individuals in each type of macrozoobenthos epifauna found

    Study of Maximum Sustainable Yield of Rabbitfish (Siganus sp.) in Makassar Waters

    This study aims to estimate the potential of fish resources which include catch per unit effort (CPUE), Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY), optimum efforts, exploitation rates and total allowable catch (TAC) of Rabbitfish in Makassar waters. This study uses time-series data, namely annual data from the fisheries statistics report at the Office of Marine and Fisheries Service, South Sulawesi Province from 2007 until. 2016. The method used to predict fish resource potential in the study is the Surplus Production method referring to the Schaefer model. The results of the study showed that the average production and standard efforts in the 10-year period were 78.8 tons per year and 1304 standard units per year respectively. The estimation results obtained by MSY and the optimum efforts of rabbitfish per year were 104 tons and 1142 standard units, respectively and total allowable catches (TAC) are 82.979 tons per year.     Perubahan Hati Terkait Pertumbuhan Oosit Ikan Sebelah (Psettodes erumei) (Changes in Liver relate to Oocyte Growth of Flatfish)

    There are 8 species of flatfish in the waters of the Spermonde archipelago, South Sulawesi, but only one has thick body, that is Psettodes erumei. Development of flatfish P.erumei populations can be done if its reproductive aspect is known. In this study we will examine the changes of liver through the Hepatosomatic Index (HSI) associated with the growth of oocytes based on Gonad Maturity Stage (GMS). The Hepatosomatic Index (HSI) is defined as the ratio of weight body to weight liver. The value of this index gives an indication of the status of energy reserves in animals. The results of this study indicate a change in liver weight based on HSI which increases following the increase of oocyte size based on GMS. HSI increased sharply after GMS II and ahead of GMS III, which then increase not too big again after GMS III.     PENDUGAAN BEBERAPA PARAMETER DINAMIKA POPULASI IKAN LAYANG (Decapterus macrosoma, BLEEKER 1841) DI PERAIRAN TELUK BONE, SULAWESI SELATAN

    his research was conducted in November to December 2012 which aimed to estimate thepopulation dynamic of mackerel fish through their age-group, growth, mortality, and yield perrecruitment. Samples were taken from the waters of sub district of Panyula, in the district of EastTanete Riatang, in Bone Region. Age-group was measured using Bhattacharya method with thehelp of Fish Stock Assessment Tools II (FISAT II) software. Growth and natural mortality weremeasured by applying the equations of Von Bertalanffy and Empiris Pauly (respectively). Whereastotal mortality as well as yield per recruitment were estimated by applying Beverton and Holdequation; and catch mortality was estimated by applying the equation of Z=F+M. Results showedthe average total length of 849 mackarel fish that was 121-295 mm. They were divided into 4groups with 306.35 mm asymptotic length, 0,33 growth rate coefficient and theoritical age of 0.0294year. Natural mortality rate, total and catch mortality, and exploitation rate were 0.3672per year; 2,4358 per year, 2,0687 per year and 0.8493 (respectively). This indicated that an overcatch had occurred due to the higher catch mortality compared to the natural mortality as well asthe yield per recruitment, i.e. 0.0865 gram/recruitment.     Bulu babi merupakan salah satusumberdaya hayati perairan yang bernilai ekonomis karena selain dapat dikonsumsi masyarakat setempat sebagai sumber protein hewani, juga memilki harga jual yang cukup tinggi di pasaran Nasional maupun internasional. Cukup tingginya permintaan bulu babi termasuk spesies Salmacis sphaeroides, membuat biota ini banyak dicari dan dieksploitasi sehingga populasinya akhir-akhir ini cenderung berkurang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pertumbuhan Salmacis sphaeroides di Pulau Selayar yang meliputi kelompok umur, hubungan bobot-panjang dan model pertumbuhan von Bertalanffy serta tingkat eksploitasinya sebagai informasi dalam upaya pengelolaan sumberdaya hayati perairan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perairan Desa Bontolempangan, Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar, Sulawesi Selatan. Pengumpulan dan pengukuran sampel dilakukan dalam jangka waktu tiga bulan. Berdasarkan distribusi frekuensi diameter cangkang bulu babi Salmacis sphaeroides diperoleh empat kelompok umur yang terdapat dalam populasi. Hasil analisis hubungan bobot-panjang, pertumbuhan Salmacis sphaeroidesbaik betina maupun jantan bersifat alometrik minor yaitu pertambahan bobot tubuhnya tak secepat dari pertambahan diameter cangkang. Laju pertumbuhan bulu babi betina dan jantan menunjukan pola yang sama. Hasil estimasi parameter pertumbuhan model von Bertalanffy diketahui bahwa diameter cangkang asimptotsebesar 74,2 mm dengan koefisien laju pertumbuhan 0,42 per bulandan umur teoritis (to) adalah - 0.31 bulan

    Studi Kondisi Oseanografi pada Daerah Penangkapan Ikan Pelagis Besar dengan Menggunakan Pole and Line di Perairan Teluk Bone

    Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan hubungan antara dinamika kondisi oseanografi terhadap fluktuasi hasil tangkapan dan memetakan daerah penangkapan (DPI) ikan pelagis besar di perairan Teluk Bone. Studi mengenai dinamika kondisi oseanografi difokuskan pada sebaran suhu permukaan laut, konsentrasi klorofil-a, dan kedalaman perairan. Pengambilan data dimulai pada bulan April sampai dengan September 2017. Studi ini menggunakan dua jenis yaitu data primer mencakup jenis dan jumlah hasil tangkapan serta posisi penangkapan ikan. Data citra satelit oseanografi yang bersumber dari satelit Terra/MODIS dan AVISO/ETOPO2 sebagai data sekunder. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan Generalized Additive Models (GAMs) dan dipetakan dengan menggunakan teknik Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG). Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara dinamika kondisi oseanografi dengan fluktuasi hasil tangkapan ikan pelagis besar di perairan Teluk Bone. Distribusi ikan cenderung terjadi pada area perairan dengan suhu permukaan laut berkisar antara 29 - 29,5 oC, dimana konsentrasi klorofil-a pada area tersebut pada nilai 0,2 - 0,4 mg/m-3, dan cenderung di daerah lepas pantai pada kedalaman perairan sekitar 500 - 1.000 m. Kata kunci: kondisi oseanografi, DPI, ikan pelagis besar, teluk bone.

    NISBAH KELAMIN DAN UKURAN PERTAMA KALI MATANG GONAD IKAN LAYANG DELES (Decapterusmacrosoma BLEEKER, 1841) DI PERAIRAN TELUK BONE, SULAWESI SELATAN

    This research was conducted to investigate the sex ratio and the first gonadal maturity size of mackerel fish(Decapterus macrosomas Bleeker 1841). Samples were taken from June to October 2013 in the sub-district ofPanyula, District of East Riattang, in Bone region. Sample analysis was conducted at the Fisheries biologylaboratory, Department of Fisheries, Hasanuddin University, Makassar. Sex ratio was analyzed by using chiquadrat-testwhereas the first gonadal maturity size was obtained from the first size of the third-gonadal-maturitystage. There were 782 fish collected with male to female ratio 1,02:1,00. Statistically, the sex ratio from Bone waterswas 1:1, in other words, it is still in a balance condition.     Tongkol lisong dengan nama latin Auxis rochei merupakan salah satu ikan pelagis dari familiscombridae yang banyak ditangkap oleh nelayan di Perairan Selat Makassar terkhusus di PerairanMajene, Sulawesi Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis musim pemijahan ikan tongkol diperairan Majene, Provinsi Sulawesi Barat. Pengambilan sampel dilaksanakan selama enam bulansejak Mei hingga Oktober 2018 di Kel. Pangali-Ali Kabupaten Majene, Provinsi Sulawesi Barat.Penangkapan ikan menggunakan alat tangkap jaring lingkar dan pancing. Ikan diukur panjang,ditimbang beratnya, dibedah, diidentifikasi jenis kelamin dan tingkat kematangannya gonadnya.Untuk menentukan musim pemijahan ikan tongkol dilakukan analisis Indeks Kematangan Gonad(IKG). Indeks kematangan gonad adalah suatu nilai dalam persen yang merupakan hasil dariperbandingan antara bobot gonad dan bobot tubuh. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian jumlah ikantongkol diperoleh selama penelitian sebanyak 372 ekor ikan (216 jantan dan 156 betina). Hasilanalisis IKG ikan tongkol lisong di pada setiap waktu pengambilan sampel k di perairan Majenemenunjukkan nilai IKG tertinggi diperoleh pada Bulan Agustus. Tingginya Nilai IKG tertinggipada bulan tersebut diduga merupakan puncak pemijahan.Kata kunci: ikan tongkol, musim pemijahan, Majene

    Komposisi Jenis Plankton Pada Musim Penangkapan Ikan Penja (Gobioidea sp) Di Muara Sungai Mandar

    Penja is an endemic fish in the Mandar river and is one of the small pelagic fish species that has been used by fishermen in Polewali Mandar for a long time. Penja fish is one of the water organisms that utilize plankton as its food. This study aims to determine the composition of the plankton species the fishing season in Mandar waters of Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province. This research was conducted in November-December 2017. The sampling location was conducted in two different water locations which are at estuary and body of Mandar River, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi Province. And the identification of samples was done at the Biology Laboratory of Plankton and Natural Feed at the Research Center for Brackishwater Aquaculture Development and Fisheries Extension (BRPBAP3) of Maros Regency. The results of this study indicate that the highest abundance of plankton during the fishing season in the estuary waters and the month of December. Bacillariophyceae class is the most plankton class found during the study and there is 37 genus plankton consisting of 28 genus of phytoplankton and 9 genus of zooplankton. The range of diversity index value during fishing time, sampling location, research month and sampling time are 1 <H '<3 which means medium diversity, uniformity index value is 0.7-0.9 so that the plankton uniformity index is relatively the same or equal, and the Domination index value indicates that no domain genus in the community
