This article aims to briefly assess the advantages and limitations of the BT-03 shooting machine when it is applied to the practical teaching of the practical module of National Defense and Security Education (NDSE) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. Through surveying the Likert scale (5 levels) with 340 students and 28 experts, the author conducted quantitative statistical analysis to compare the interest of learners and lecturers after their experience with this device. The results showed that both students and lecturers highly appreciated all 10 observed variables affecting the excitement through the application of the MBT-03 exercise machine. This is the basis for universities and national defense education centers to consult and invest in shooting machines that combine information technology in teaching. Thereby, it helps to innovate teaching methods in a positive way and contributes to improving the quality of NDSE.  Article visualizations

In learning and teaching of languages, numerous theories have been put forward. These theories, normally influenced by developments in the fields of linguistics and psychology, have inspired several approaches to the teaching of second and foreign languages. This paper revisits English language teaching approaches, both traditional and modern, as well as learning styles and teaching styles. Such learning style models as The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); Kolb’s Experiential Learning Model; the Felder-Silverman Learning Styles Model are explored in-depth in this paper. Keywords: teaching approach; learning style; teaching styl

NEISKORIŠTENI POTENCIJAL I VISOKOTEHNOLOŠKA TRGOVINA: SLUČAJ IZVOZA ZEMALJA ASEAN-6

This study aims to quantify the impact of untapped export potential on ASEAN-6 countries’ high-tech exports for the 2006-2016 period. Our innovative aspect sheds new light on the relationship between the untapped export potential in the previous year and export performance in the current year. Using a system GMM estimator, we found several significant results. Firstly, untapped export potential in the last year has a positive impact on ASEAN-6 countries’ high-tech exports in the current year. Secondly, the effect of untapped export potential on ASEAN-6 countries’ high-tech exports depends on supply competencies (ASEAN-6 countries’ human capital and research and development capability) and the bilateral linkage (importing countries’ trade barriers and institutional similarity between ASEAN-6 countries and importing countries). Thirdly, supply competencies are the most important when ASEAN-6 countries export high-tech goods to high-income countries. In contrast, the bilateral linkage is the most crucial when ASEAN-6 countries ship high-tech products to low-income countries. Measures to enhance human capital, upgrade research and development capability, promote trade liberalization, and minimize the institutional distance with the trading partners are the remedy for ASEAN-6 countries to tap the untapped potential.

VFFINDER: A Graph-based Approach for Automated Silent Vulnerability-Fix Identification

The increasing reliance of software projects on third-party libraries has raised concerns about the security of these libraries due to hidden vulnerabilities. Managing these vulnerabilities is challenging due to the time gap between fixes and public disclosures. Moreover, a significant portion of open-source projects silently fix vulnerabilities without disclosure, impacting vulnerability management. Existing tools like OWASP heavily rely on public disclosures, hindering their effectiveness in detecting unknown vulnerabilities. To tackle this problem, automated identification of vulnerability-fixing commits has emerged. However, identifying silent vulnerability fixes remains challenging. This paper presents VFFINDER, a novel graph-based approach for automated silent vulnerability fix identification. VFFINDER captures structural changes using Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) and represents them in annotated ASTs. VFFINDER distinguishes vulnerability-fixing commits from non-fixing ones using attention-based graph neural network models to extract structural features. We conducted experiments to evaluate VFFINDER on a dataset of 36K+ fixing and non-fixing commits in 507 real-world C/C++ projects. Our results show that VFFINDER significantly improves the state-of-the-art methods by 39-83% in Precision, 19-148% in Recall, and 30-109% in F1. Especially, VFFINDER speeds up the silent fix identification process by up to 47% with the same review effort of 5% compared to the existing approaches.Comment: Accepted by IEEE KSE 202

Research on Using Dolomite Aggregate as Cement Treated Base for Highway Pavement Construction in Ninh Binh, Vietnam

    Get PDF
Dolomite is commonly used in the construction of highway pavement in the world. However, there are still no concrete specifications or regulations on the use of dolomite for highway construction. Dolomite is available in huge quantities in NinhBinh Province. This is a high potential material for grain bases of highway pavement structure. The alternative material could be a considerable contribution to diversify the supply of aggregate resources for highway pavement construction in the province, and thus contribute to the conservation of natural landscape heritages and limestone resources for related building materials manufacturing industries. In order to evaluate the use of dolomite in highway pavement construction, a research program is conducted to test the working capacity of the cement treated dolomite aggregate, which is intended to use as upper base material in pavement structure. The experimental results showed that the mechanical indicators of the mixture satisfy the requirements for the base layers of highway pavement structure

Guided by the integrative model of behavioral prediction and the social identity of deindividuation effects model, this study used an online experiment (N = 322) to test a moderated-mediation model that linked exposure to user comments posted to COVID-19 vaccine news stories and vaccine intentions. The study was conducted in Vietnam when the Delta variant of COVID-19 spread to the country and the efficacy and side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine were controversial in the news. Results showed that, compared with vaccine-hesitancy comments, vaccine-acceptance comments significantly increased vaccine intentions through injunctive norms, response efficacy, and attitudes. This indirect association was only significant among participants who perceived commenters as in-group members. Compared with vaccine-hesitancy comments, a mixture of comments that featured both acceptance and hesitancy significantly increased perceived norms, perceived efficacy, and attitudes. Further, comments significantly changed participants’ perceived norms, perceived efficacy, and attitudes compared with the news stories. Theoretical and practical implications are presented
