Policy Essay: Fostering the acceptance and inclusion of LGBTQ youth in the child welfare system: Considerations for advancing trauma informed responses for LGBTQ youth in care
LGBTQ youth are vulnerable to nearly all forms of childhood maltreatment and trauma and are disproportionately overrepresented in the child welfare system. Many LGBTQ youth in the child welfare system encounter a number of obstacles related to discrimination, rejection, placement instability, and further maltreatment. Despite recent insights and advances in the field of trauma informed care the trauma experiences of LGBTQ youth have largely gone unaddressed in major works and frameworks related to trauma informed care. The following article explores the unique trauma and maltreatment experiences of LGBTQ youth and provides considerations for enhancing and improving practice with LGBTQ youth through the implementation of recent insights in the field of trauma informed care
Dirac neutrino mixings from hidden symmetry
We explore masses and mixings for Dirac neutrinos in models where lepton
number is conserved, under the guidance of a hidden, but broken,
exchange symmetry, that makes itself evident in the squared hermitian mass
matrix. We study the parameter space in the most general theory as allowed by
current neutrino oscillation experiment data. By using a general
parameterization of the mass matrix which contains only observable parameters
we stablish that the amount of breaking of the symmetry is in the range of the
atmospheric mass scale, without regard to the neutrino hierarchy, the absolute
neutrino mass and the Dirac CP phase. An estimate of the invisible branching
ratio for a Higgs boson decaying into Dirac neutrinos,

Reusing Human Resources Management Standards for Employment Services
Employment Services (ESs) are becoming more and more important for Public Administrations where their social implications on sustainability, workforce mobility and equal opportunities play a fundamental strategic importance for any central or local Government. The EU SEEMP project aims at improving facilitate workers mobility in Europe. Ontologies are used to model descriptions of job offers and curricula; and for facilitating the process of exchanging job offer data and CV data between ES. In this paper we present the methodological approach we followed for reusing existing human resources management standards in the SEEMP project, in order to build a common “language” called Reference Ontology

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL’S PERCEPTIONS OF EARLY CO-OCCURRING DISORDER RECOVERY AND SMOKING CESSATION APPROPRIATENESS
Early stages of the co-occurring, mental health and substance use disorder (MH-SUD) recovery process present various social and physical challenges to the recovering person, including habitual cigarette smoking. Presenting smoking cessation to a person with a co-occurring disorder could also depend on behavioral health professional’s perceptions of implementing supplemental services in early recovery. Behavioral health professionals also face the challenge of assessing people’s motivation to quit smoking. Data was collected through an online survey that shaped this quantitative, cross-sectional study focused on understanding perceptions of smoking cessation in early MH-SUD recovery. The study’s data highlighted that the participants (N = 61) perceive smoking cessation as an appropriate intervention while also reporting high levels of self-confidence when assessing motivation to quit to smoking. Identifying as a smoker and former smoker, highest level of education and gender did not have a significant impact on perceptions of smoking cessation in early MH-SUD recovery. The study created an overview on how behavioral health professionals understand and support smoking cessation that contributes additional knowledge to social work’s existing research on habitual cigarette smoking and co-occurring disorders
Legal Ontologies for the spanish e-Government
The Electronic Government is a new field of applications for the semantic web where ontologies are becoming an important research technology. The e-Government faces considerable challenges to achieve interoperability given the semantic differences of interpretation, complexity and width of scope. In this paper we present the results obtained in an ongoing project commissioned by the Spanish government that seeks strategies for the e-Government to reduce the problems encountered when delivering services to citizens. We also introduce an e-Government ontology model; within this model a set of legal ontologies are devoted to representing the Real-estate transaction domain used to illustrate this paper
Supersymmetric methods in the traveling variable: inside neurons and at the brain scale
We apply the mathematical technique of factorization of differential
operators to two different problems. First we review our results related to the
supersymmetry of the Montroll kinks moving onto the microtubule walls as well
as mentioning the sine-Gordon model for the microtubule nonlinear excitations.
Second, we find analytic expressions for a class of one-parameter solutions of
a sort of diffusion equation of Bessel type that is obtained by supersymmetry
from the homogeneous form of a simple damped wave equations derived in the
works of P.A. Robinson and collaborators for the corticothalamic system. We
also present a possible interpretation of the diffusion equation in the brain

Modulation of Dendritic Cell Responses by Parasites: A Common Strategy to Survive
Parasitic infections are one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality in our planet and the immune responses triggered by these organisms are critical to determine their outcome. Dendritic cells are key elements for the development of immunity against parasites; they control the responses required to eliminate these pathogens while maintaining host homeostasis. However, there is evidence showing that parasites can influence and regulate dendritic cell function in order to promote a more permissive environment for their survival. In this review we will focus on the strategies protozoan and helminth parasites have developed to interfere with dendritic cell activities as well as in the possible mechanisms involved
Pattern for Re-engineering a Classification Scheme, which Follows the Adjacency List Data Model, to a Taxonomy
This pattern for re-engineering non-ontological resources (pr-nor) fits in the schema re-engineering category proposed by [3]. The pattern defines a procedure that transforms the classification scheme components into ontology representational primitives. This pattern comes from the experience of ontology engineers in developing ontologies using classification schemes in several projects (seemp 1 , neon 2 , and knowledge web 3 ). The pattern is included in a pool of patterns, which is a key element of our method for re-engineering non-ontological resources into ontologies [2]. Multifractal properties of elementary cellular automata in a discrete wavelet approach of MF-DFA
In 2005, Nagler and Claussen (Phys. Rev. E 71 (2005) 067103) investigated the
time series of the elementary cellular automata (ECA) for possible
(multi)fractal behavior. They eliminated the polynomial background at^b through
the direct fitting of the polynomial coefficients a and b. We here reconsider
their work eliminating the polynomial trend by means of the multifractal-based
detrended fluctuation analysis (MF-DFA) in which the wavelet multiresolution
property is employed to filter out the trend in a more speedy way than the
direct polynomial fitting and also with respect to the wavelet transform
modulus maxima (WTMM) procedure. In the algorithm, the discrete fast wavelet
transform is used to calculate the trend as a local feature that enters the
so-called details signal. We illustrate our result for three representative ECA
rules: 90, 105, and 150. We confirm their multifractal behavior and provide our
