A "former nobleman": survival in soviet realities

    Get PDF
The issues addressed in the article are of particular relevance for the contemporary historiography due to the absence of systematic studies on the history of the "Soviet nobility" and their adaptation to the Soviet realities. An especially interesting aspect of this topic is the transformation of values and worldview of the nobility in the conditions of the dominant communist ideology. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the nobility survival in the period of establishment of a totalitarian political regime and destruction of the traditional Russian system of values and religious traditions. The primary research method used to address the topic is the micro-historical analysis, which allowed the authors to obtain the following results: a typology of this social group was developed (involuntary or deported emigrants, open or hidden oppositionists, and those who were forced to adapt), based on characterization of beliefs, values and patterns of behaviour of individual representatives of the "former" nobility; oppressive measures used by the Soviet power against the "exploiters" were classified into several types: economic oppression, legal restrictions, ideological pressure and direct terror; and specific features of their adaptation to the Soviet realities, including its ethno-confessional aspect, were identified. The main conclusion drawn from the research is that the nobiliary culture and system of values proved extremely resistant to various challenges and threats of the Soviet epoch. Materials of this article have both theoretical and practical implications in the context of actualisation of the culture of mansions, nobiliary traditions and the cadet education in today´s Russia. Keywords: "Soviet nobility", system of values, emigration, opposition, terror, adaptatio

© 2016, International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology. All rights reserved. The study of relationship between sympathetic-adrenal and pituitary-adrenal systems at the level of the whole organism in ontogenesis is a little-studied problem which has a general biological significance. A comprehensive study of regulatory system functional state of modern schoolchildren will expand the understanding of the neuroendocrine mechanisms of their age development and puberty, which is very important for the scientific foundation of the health care system among younger generation. The aim of research was a comprehensive study of the age and sex characteristics of the sympathetic-adrenal system and the adrenal cortex, the ratio of their functional activity among 10-15 year old boys and girls. The observation among children lasted for 6 years continuously. The content of adrenaline and noradrenaline in daily urine based on fluorimetric method showed the state of the sympathetic-adrenal system. The functional status of the adrenal cortex was assessed by urinary excretion of 17- ketosteroids and 17-oxycorticosteroids using a colorimetric method based on Zimmermann reaction with mdinitrobenzene and and by the reaction with phenylhydrazine after enzymatic hydrolysis (Silber's and Porter's method). The statistical significance of differences was determined by Student's t-criterion. It was shown that the daily excretion of adrenaline varies slightly among the children of both sexes, while the dynamics of norepinephrine is more pronounced and oscillatory in nature, which is consistent with the concept of chromaffin tissue earlier maturation relative to sympathetic innervation in ontogenesis. At the same time they revealed multidirectional changes in the excretion of 17-ketosteroids and 17-oxycorticosteroids among 11-13 year old boys, reflecting the biological antagonism of androgens and glucocorticoids, which have protein-anabolic and catabolic effects on a body. A certain synchronicity was established in the manifestation of the mediator link functional activity of the sympathetic-adrenal system, androgen and glucocorticoid function of the adrenal cortex, which is manifested heterochronically in sex groups among 10- 12 year old girls, and 14-15 year old boys. This confirms the literature data on the presence of close functional relationship between catecholamines and corticosteroids at different levels of neurohumoral regulatory mechanism and shows the features of adaptive reactions of children during prepubertal and pubertal development

Relevance. Informing patients about the carriage of a pathogenic mutation may result in a psychologically traumatizing situation, characterized by acute stress reactions, post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms, or anxiety-depressive disorder. This highlights the importance of psychological counseling.Objective. To investigate the effectiveness of psychological support in a patient with mutations in genes associated with hereditary breast cancer.Materials and methods. Description of patient's medical history and results of instrumental psychological diagnosis after identifying a pathogenic mutation in the CHEK2 gene, which increases a risk of developing breast cancer to 20–40 % via genetic testing.Results. The nature of emotional response in this case is determined by personal history — identification of ideas about one's possible disease with mother's one. The conducted psychological consultations mitigated acute stress reactions and minimized the perception of received genetic information as a psychologically traumatic event. Furthermore, significant positive shifts were observed in the formation of adaptive stresscoping strategies, awareness of one's own mental resources, and reinforcement of adherence to the dynamic observation plan. Conclusion: Patients in situations involving the identification of mutations in genes associated with hereditary breast cancer require a personalized approach. Development of criteria for psychological support should be aimed at improving patients' quality of life not only in the immediate aftermath of information disclosure but also in the long term

Intensity of immunity to the diphtheria is analyzed, in the article according to the levels of antitoxic antibodies in blood serum, of healthy adults from 20 to 51 years and older who live in England, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and. Finland. In Russia displacement of morbidity during the epidemic of 1993—1996 to the older age groups caused, inclusion of compulsory revaccination of adults every 10 years after the latest vaccination, of teenagers in 14 years in National calendar of o prophylactic vaccination, in 1998. Chosen tactics of vaccinal prevention, wasn't included, in National calendars of o prophylactic vaccination, of other countries including European except for Finland. On the basis of the analysis for the optimization, of vaccinal prevention, of diphtheria the authors propose: to transfer revaccination of children from the age of 18 months to the age of 3—6 years (like in Italy, England, and. Finland), to realize vaccination, of adults individually taking into account the content of antitoxic antibodies in blood serum.. Key words: diphtheria, vaccinal prevention, antitoxic antibodie

In this work intensity of immunity to diphtheria on the basis of indicating antitoxic antidiphtherial antiboies level in the blood sera of healthy adults aged 20 to 51 and elder, living in England, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Finland is analyzed. Diphtheria disease incidence shift through the epidemic in 1993—1996 in Russia to the elder age groups had resulted in inclusion of obligatory adults revaccination each 10 years after the last revaccination of teenagers in 14 year in 1998. Chosen tactics of vaccinal prevention of diphtheria didn't find reflection in National prophylactic immunization calendars of other countries including European, except Finland. On the basis of the received analysis for optimization of diphtheria vaccinal prevention, authors offer: to transfer a revaccination of children from age of 18 months to age of 3—6 years (according to the scheme in Italy, England, Finland); to carry out vaccination of adults individually depending on antitoxic antibodies concentration in blood sera

The modern technologies of any crop growing, including barley, include seed disinfection with the fungicides as an obligatory agro method, because the sowing properties of the seeds greatly affect on the formation of large and stable yields. The use of the growth stimulator is substantiated with a large range of their effect on the plants, a possibility to regulate some stages of development to increase the yield of the product. The article considers the results of the trials and the effect of the disinfectant ‘Vintsit Forte’ and the mixture of the disinfectant with the growth stimulators ‘Fertigrein Start’ and ‘Fundazol’ on the productivity and seed quality of the heat and dry tolerant varieties of spring barley ‘Leon’ and ‘Shchedry’. The use of the mixture of the fungicide ‘Vintsit Forte’ and the growth stimulator positively influences on the formation of such structural element of the yield, as a productive tillering. The largest increase of spring barley productivity has been obtained in the variants of the mixture of the disinfectant ‘Vintsit Forte’ and the growth stimulator ‘Fertigrein Start’. The variety ‘Leon’ gave the productivity increase of 1.4 t/ha (41.2%) in comparison with the control; the vaiety ‘Shchedry’ – 2.3 t/ha(62.1%). In the variants of separate treatment with ‘Vintsit Forte’, ‘Fertigrein Start’ and ‘Fundazol’ the productivity slightly increased. The largest indexes of all qualitative traits (length of head, number of kernels per head, weight of kernels per head, 1000-kernel weight) have been received due to the seed treatment with ‘Vintsit Forte’+‘Fertigrein Start’. The article has considered an economic efficiency of pre- sowing treatment of seeds. The largest profitability of the varieties ‘Shchedry’ (197.6%) and ‘Leon’ (138.1%) has been obtained after the seed treatment with the mixture of the disinfectant and the growth stimulator
