Social transformation of great mining regions : experience of the 20th century : prospects for the 21th century (the case of Upper Silesia, Poland)
This article, which deals with civilizational challenges of Upper Silesian mining communities at the end of the 20th century, consists of five complementary parts. In Part I, we present a diagnosis of economic and social
situation of this catastrophic and scansen-type region of Poland and Europe.
Part II deals with the history of mining local communities, from the early years of this branch of industry (which are given documentary evidence) to the end of the Second World War. In Part III, we reconstruct the changes within these communities in the time of real socialism (1945-1989). In the next part, we suggest necessary and radical changes in ,UPPer Silesian mining and associated social structure. The last part of an article is an attempt to describe a regional social agreement called the Regional Contract. The Document was prepared in the Katowice voivodship in 1995 by numerous economic institutions, political parties, trade unions, social and cultural organisations. Its main purpose is quick and complex restructuring of the economy of the region, together with coal mining industry and mining communities. (fragment tekstu
Environmental bases of ecological consciousness
Artykuł przygotowany przez T. Nawrockiego i M. S. Szczepańskiego składa się z dwóch
komplementarnych części. W pierwszej z nich zostały pokazane, w perspektywie długiego
trwania, podstawowe uwarunkowania sytuacji ekologicznej województwa katowickiego.
Autorzy, odwołując się do dokonań teorii rozwoju zależnego (teoria de la dependencia),
zwracają między innymi uwagę na znaczenie funkcjonowania kolonizacji wewnętrznej dla
postępującej degradacji regionu. W części drugiej przedstawiono (w postaci danych statystycznych)
ogólną sytuację ekologiczną województwa oraz stan prowadzonych inwestycji
proekologicznych
Bolesław Weszczak i grupa „Leśni”. Przyczynek do dziejów antykomunistycznego oporu społecznego w Łodzi
The article discusses the life and work of Bolesław Weszczak (1910–1977),
a labourer, a prisoner of the German concentration camp in Dachau (1940–1945) and an
associate of the nationalistic and neopagan “Zadruga”. It also presents the activities of
the conspiratorial group he was leading. The article defends the thesis that the arrest of
Weszczak was what started the series of arrests of members of the “Zadruga” in 1949

Rodzimowierstwo polskie a życie publiczne po 1989 r. Próba szkicu
"Tekst jest próbą przedstawienia stosunku polskich ruchów rodzimowierczych (neopogańskich)
do polityki i uczestnictwa w życiu publicznym. Nie jest to obraz całościowy,
autor starał się nakreślić zasadnicze linie podziału, licząc, że materiał ten
będzie przyczynkiem do dokładnej prezentacji tego zagadnienia."(...

Ruch zadrużny i rodzimowierczy w PRL w latach 1956–1989
"Tekst ten poświęcony jest polskim środowiskom rodzimowierczym (neopogańskim
– autor używa tych określeń jako synonimów) i zadrużnym. Oznacza to, że
pominięte zostały analogiczne środowiska niepolskie, działające w omawianym
okresie w granicach PRL. Nie zostaną więc omówieni np. istniejący w Polsce po
1945 r. zwolennicy RUNWiry itp. Pominięte zostało środowisko Obozu Federacji
Bałto-Słowian (OFBS) w literaturze niekiedy przedstawiane jako kontynuacja
międzywojennego „Demiurga”. Byli oni częściowo tym samym środowiskiem,
ale nie kontynuacją w sensie ideowym."(...
