    Souvenir industry is the supporting aspect of tourism industry. As the one of creative economy industries, souvenir shows the characteristics of a region or a tourism place. This industry needs expertise and creativity, but there is an issue in the development of product variations with high expenses and the improvement of skills to create a product. The method to conduct this program is by conducting empowerment with participative and bottom-up approach. The participants are given electroforming training for souvenir industry.     Dental Monitoring Application of Simogi to Change Parental Behavior for Maintaining Children Dental Health

    Children's oral and dental health needs to be maintained from an early age in order to sustain the integrity of their teeth. A new dental health care monitoring named SIMOGI (Dental Health Monitoring System) application is proposed. This application is used by parents and it’s integrated with dental therapist’s account. The application has features of dental health care checklist and dental danger sign.  The aim of this study is to analyze changes in parental behavior towards the maintenance of children's oral health with the implementation of SIMOGI. This research is an experimental study with pretest and posttest design with control group design. The total sample used is 20 parents of elementary school in grade 3. A behavioral questionnaire on dental and oral health maintenance on knowledge, attitudes and actions were done to measure the effect changes. The category is grouped into bad, fair and good. This experiment ran for 21 days. The analytical test used is univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results show that in knowledge, there is no effect on control (p-value 1.000) and intervention group (p-value 0.785). There is effect on intervention group’s attitude (p-value 0.018) and no effect on control group (p-value 0.317). There is effect both in intervention (p-value 0.024) and control group (p-value 0.102). There is an effect of using the SIMOGI application on changes in parents' attitudes and actions in maintaining children's dental health. Knowledge of the parents is already in the good category

    Karakteristik Parameter Fisis Objek Wisata Sungai Napal Jungur Di Kabupaten Seluma

    Sungai Napal Jungur merupakan salah satu objek wisata yang yang terletak di Kabupaten Seluma. Beberapa bagian Sungai Napal Jungur mengalami perubahan seperti, pelebaran, penyempitan, serta perubahan kedalaman yang di akibatkan oleh erosi yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas alam dan manusia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk  mengetahui karakteristik parameter fisis sungai Napal Jungur Seluma. Dalam penelian ini metode yang digunakan adalah pengukuran langsung di lapangan berdasarkan cuaca normal. Dengan titik pengukuran debit sebanyak 12 titik, sedimen dan pengambilan sampel sedimen sebanyak 8 titik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang sudah dilakukan kecepatan arus perlokasi penelitian rata-rata (0,17 m/s - 0,82 m/s). Kecepatan arus rata-rata tertinggi sebesar 1,04 m/s. Debit sungai tertinggi terjadi di titik lokasi 1 yaitu sebesar 3,62 m3/s dan debit sungai terendah terjadi di titik lokasi 4 yaitu sebesar 0,94 m3/s. Sungai Napal Jungur Seluma didominasi oleh pasir sangat kasar dengan diameter 1 mm yang terletak di bagian sisi kanan sungai. Debit sedimen layang tertinggi yaitu 6,615 g/s dan debit sedimen layang terendah yaitu 0,47 g/s. Debit sedimen dasar tertinggi yaitu 75,50 kg/s dan debit sedimen terendah yaitu 19,80 kg/s.     SPATIO-TEMPORAL ANOMALIES IN SURFACE BRIGHTNESS TEMPERATURE PRECEDING VOLCANO ERUPTIONS DETECTED BY THE LANDSAT-8 THERMAL INFRARED SENSOR (CASE STUDY: KARANGETANG VOLCANO)

    Indonesia's geological as part of the “ring of fire” includes the consequence that community life could be affected by volcanic activity. The catastrophic incidence of volcanic eruptions in the last ten years has had a disastrous impact on human life. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to conduct research on the strengthening of the early warning system for volcanic eruptions utilising remote sensing technology.  This study analyses spatial and temporal anomalies of surface brightness temperature in the peak area of Karangetang volcano during the 2018-2019 eruption. Karangetang volcano is an active volcano located in North Sulawesi, with a magmatic eruption type that releases lava flow. We analyse the anomalies in the brightness temperature from channel-10 of the Landsat-8 TIRS (Thermal Infrared Scanner) time series during the period in question. The results of the research demonstrate that in the case of Karangetang Volcano the eruptions of 2018-2019 indicate increases in the surface brightness temperature of the crater region. As this volcano has many craters, the method is also very useful to establish in which crater the center of the eruption occurred

    Knowledge About Student's Understanding and the Effect on Instructional Strategies: a Case on Two Novice Mathematics Teachers

    Pedagogical content knowledge is a key role the success of teachers learning in classroom. This study aims to: 1) analyze teacher's knowledge of students' mistakes and difficulties in solving linear equations, 2) describe the instructional strategies used by teachers to eliminate students' mistakes and difficulties. The subjects of this study were two novice teachers with two-year working period, each of whom taught at the seventh grade junior high school with different students' math abilities. Data collection is conducted by open questionnaire and interview. The results showed that both teachers have knowledge of students' mistakes and difficulties in solving linear equations. However, the teacher's learning strategy in helping students to eliminate students' errors and difficulties is different. Thus it can be concluded that the teacher's knowledge of the errors and difficulties students can help teachers in determining appropriate learning strategies to present learning materials

    MAPPING BURNT AREAS USING THE SEMI-AUTOMATIC OBJECT-BASED IMAGE ANALYSIS METHOD

    Forest and land fires in Indonesia take place almost every year, particularly in the dry season and in Sumatra and Kalimantan. Such fires damage the ecosystem, and lower the quality of life of the community, especially in health, social and economic terms. To establish the location of forest and land fires, it is necessary to identify and analyse burnt areas. Information on these is necessary to determine the environmental damage caused, the impact on the environment, the carbon emissions produced, and the rehabilitation process needed. Identification methods of burnt land was made both visually and digitally by utilising satellite remote sensing data technology. Such data were chosen because they can identify objects quickly and precisely. Landsat 8 image data have many advantages: they can be easily obtained, the archives are long and they are visible to thermal wavelengths. By using a combination of visible, infrared and thermal channels through the semi-automatic object-based image analysis (OBIA) approach, the study aims to identify burnt areas in the geographical area of Indonesia. The research concludes that the semi-automatic OBIA approach based on the red, infrared and thermal spectral bands is a reliable and fast method for identifying burnt areas in regions of Sumatra and Kalimantan
