In order, to maintain the balance of squid resources it is necessary to evaluate the level of utilization with the ability to be used as a basic for security in sustainable resource management of squid. The purpose of this study has to determine the optimal level of resource utilization of squid on the basic of bio-economic considerations. The research was conducted at Nizam Zachman Ocean Fishing Port of Jakarta (PPSJ) and Muara Angke Port. The main focus of the research the fishermen aboard the squid nets and squid fishing line that catch the squid in FMA 718 and landed the catch in DKI Jakarta Province. Method used is the quantitative research method and case study. The management of squid resource use based on the condition of MEY has seen to provide better solution in resource management in terms of environment or community resource and economy. The utilization rate of squid fishery resources in FMA 718 since 2006 until 2015 has not been over than Total Actualy Catch (TAC), meaning the utilization of squid resources has not been overfished and can still be developed

Research on diversity of coral reef fishes of Kambing Island, Madura Strait, East Java, Indonesia was conducted in July 2002. The coral reef fishes are divided into three categories; major fishes consisted of 63 species of 13 families, target fishes 29 species of eight families, and indicator fishes eight species of only one family (Chaetodontidae). In general, the average abundance of the coral reef fishes in the study site is six individuals per square meter. The dominant indicator species are Chaetodon adiergastos and C. octofasciatus. The number of C. octofasciatus indicates that the coral reefs habitat is in bad condition with very poor coverage of live coral ranging from 7.13 to 11.74% hosting 28 species of stony corals. Bombing traces were found in many spots of each site where sea urchin (Diadema setosum) becomes abundant

A preliminary study on the ecology of the coral reef of Pombo Island was carried out in 1975. Pombo Island has a characteristic of an atoll and is considered a good habitat for coral and fish, including live-bait fish of commercial importance, Spratelloides delicatulus. Non-planktonic organisms collected consist of 39 species of corals, 56 species of molluscs, 17 species of echinoderms, 130 species of fishes and a number of crustacean species. Some ecological factors such as bottom condition, turbidity, temperatures, light intensity, and freshwater dilution are described. Population and distribution of corals and coral fishes are discussed
