Objectives: To evaluate the real-world outcomes of intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) treatment in neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) patients. Materials and Methods: Multicenter, retrospective, interventional, non-comparative study. The records of nAMD patients treated with an anti-VEGF agent on a pro re nata treatment regimen basis between January 2013 and December 2015 were reviewed. The patients who completed a follow-up period of 12 months were included. Primary outcome measures of this study were the visit and injection numbers during the first year. Results: Eight hundred eighty eyes of 783 patients met the inclusion criteria for the study. Mean number of visits at month 12 was 6.9±2.5 (range: 1-15). Mean number of injections at month 12 was 4.1±1.9 (range: 1-11). Mean visual acuity at baseline and months 3, 6, and 12 was 0.90±0.63 LogMAR (range: 0.0-3.0), 0.79±0.57 LogMAR (range: 0.0-3.0), 0.76±0.57 LogMAR (range: 0.0-3.0), and 0.79±0.59 LogMAR (range: 0.0-3.0), respectively. Mean central retinal thickness at baseline and months 6 and 12 was 395±153 μm (range: 91-1582), 330±115 μm (range: 99-975), and 332±114 μm (range: 106-1191), respectively. Conclusion: The numbers of visits and injections were much lower than ideal and were insufficient with the pro re nata treatment regimen

The aim of this research was to reveal the problems experienced by teachers working in secondary schools in socio-economic disadvantaged regions, the main reasons of the problems and the solutions they found, and to present a case analysis with findings and suggestions. This research is expected to contribute greatly to the emergence of problems that are constantly seen, heard or never known, and to understand the problems and the students who experienced these problems. It was carried out in a state secondary school with a population of students and parents from a socio-economically disadvantaged region in Bolvadin district of Afyonkarahisar Province. The sampling of the research consisted of teachers from 5 different subjects. As a result of this research, it was found that socio-economic problems in schools in the region that were the subject of the research affected the school, student success, absenteeism and education life. It was seen that the problems were caused by various reasons, and it was stated that these reasons were also noteworthy. In terms of education, it was understood that it was difficult to find fast and permanent solutions that this process could be cooperative and only the effects of reducing the problems could be possible

The purpose of this study is to examine the physical features of the Izmir Bay based on data sets obtained from longterm monitoring. Due to the waste water discharge of more than 3 millon inhabitants of Izmir city and industrial inputs. Izmir Bay is one of the most polluted coastal areas in the Turkey. The residence time of bio-chemical parameters in the Bay and the exchange between Izmir Bay and the Aegean Sea are strongly affected by horizontal and vertical mixing and advection. The distributions of bio-chemical parameters depend not only on the wind-driven circulation in the Bay, but also on the thermohaline-driven or baroclinic circulation. Emphasis is given to the analysis of the seasonal thermohaline structures as well as the circulation system of the Bay. A numerical model (Killworth's Ocean Model) is used to calculate the general circulation patterns of the Izmir Bay. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved
