This article addressed the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) with Natalizumab, using the real case of a patient, Barbara, who received specialized care from Neurologist Dr. Diogo. The study emphasized the mandatory importance of early diagnosis of MS. In addition, the positive impact of involvement in medical follow-ups, specialized nutritional guidance and especially the regular practice of physical exercise, along with a balanced diet, was investigated. These components are exceptional for improving the patient's quality of life, allowing them to live a completely normal life. Barbara is an inspiring example of how the combination of advanced specialist medical treatment, nutritional counselling and physical activity can transform the MS patient's journey into an active and fulfilling life. This study clearly clarified the importance of maintaining a dedicated medical follow-up and essential health care, which can make a significant difference in the lives of MS patients.Este artículo abordó el tratamiento de la Esclerosis Múltiple (EM) con Natalizumab, utilizando el caso real de una paciente, Bárbara Cristina Andrade Sobral, que recibió atención especializada por parte del Dr. Diogo Haddad Santos, Neurólogo.El estudio enfatizó la importancia obligatoria del diagnóstico precoz de la EM.Además, se investigó el impacto positivo de la participación en campamentos médicos, la orientación nutricional especializada y, especialmente, el ejercicio regular, junto con una dieta equilibrada. Estos componentes clave no solo controlan la EM, sino que también promueven una calidad de vida excepcional, lo que permite a los pacientes vivir una vida completamente normal. Comparison of terbutaline and atosiban as tocolytic agents in intrauterine repair of myelomeningocele: a retrospective cohort study

Background: Myelomeningocele (MMC) is a neural tube defect disease. Antenatal repair of fetal MMC is an alternative to postnatal repair. Many agents can be used as tocolytics during the in utero fetal repair such as β2-agonists and oxytocin receptor antagonists, with possible maternal and fetal repercussions. This study aims to compare maternal arterial blood gas analysis between terbutaline or atosiban, as tocolytic agents, during intrauterine MMC repair. Methods: Retrospective cohort study. Patients were divided into two groups depending on the main tocolytic agent used during intrauterine MMC repair: atosiban (16) or terbutaline (9). Maternal arterial blood gas samples were analyzed on three moments: post induction (baseline, before the start of tocolysis), before extubation, and two hours after the end of the surgery. Results: Twenty-five patients were included and assessed. Before extubation, the terbutaline group showed lower arterial pH (7.347 ± 0.05 vs. 7.396 ± 0.02 for atosiban, p = 0.006) and higher arterial lactate (28.33 ± 12.76 mg.dL−1 vs. 13.06 ± 6.35 mg.dL−1, for atosiban, p = 0.001) levels. Conclusions: Patients who received terbutaline had more acidosis and higher levels of lactate, compared to those who received atosiban, during intrauterine fetal MMC repair

Efficacy and safety of cannabidiol plus standard care vs standard care alone for the treatment of emotional exhaustion and burnout among frontline health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic: a randomized clinical trial.

Question: Is cannabidiol (CBD) therapy capable of reducing emotional exhaustion and burnout symptoms among frontline health care professionals working with patients with COVID-19? Findings: In this randomized clinical trial of 120 frontline health care professionals, emotional exhaustion scores were reduced among participants receiving CBD plus standard care compared with those receiving standard care alone. Five participants who received CBD plus standard care experienced serious adverse events, with full recovery after discontinuation. Meaning: The study’s findings suggest that CBD may act as an effective agent for the reduction of emotional exhaustion and burnout symptoms among frontline health care professionals, although it is necessary to balance the benefits with potential undesired effects when making decisions regarding the use of CBD

Measurement of the double-differential inclusive jet cross section in proton-proton collisions at s\sqrt{s} = 5.02 TeV

International audienceThe inclusive jet cross section is measured as a function of jet transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T}$ and rapidity $y$. The measurement is performed using proton-proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 TeV, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 27.4 pb$^{-1}$. The jets are reconstructed with the anti-$k_\mathrm{T}$ algorithm using a distance parameter of $R$ = 0.4, within the rapidity interval $\lvert y\rvert$$\lt$ 2, and across the kinematic range 0.06 $\lt$$p_\mathrm{T}$$\lt$ 1 TeV. The jet cross section is unfolded from detector to particle level using the determined jet response and resolution. The results are compared to predictions of perturbative quantum chromodynamics, calculated at both next-to-leading order and next-to-next-to-leading order. The predictions are corrected for nonperturbative effects, and presented for a variety of parton distribution functions and choices of the renormalization/factorization scales and the strong coupling $\alpha_\mathrm{S}$
