    Matematika merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu pengetahuan yang memiliki peranan penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Dari tujuan umum pendidikan matematika, mempelajari matematika tidak hanya menghitung semata, tetapi siswa diharapkan mampu bernalar, berpikir kritis serta logis, dapat memecahkan masalah matematis, masalah dalam bidang ilmu lain serta masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Artinya salah satu kompetensi yang penting dimiliki siswa adalah kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Dikalangan siswa sering terjadi kesulitan dalam mengerjakan soal-soal. Apalagi jika soal tersebut sedikit berbeda dengan contoh yang diberikan atau merupakan pengembangan dari konsep yang diberikan dan membutuhkan penyelesaian yang lebih rumit. Hal tersebut terjadi karena kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang kurang terasah.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa dalam matematika, untuk mengetahui besarnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam matematika serta untuk mengetahui besarnya pengaruh kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam matematika. Untuk hipotesis penelitiannya yaitu terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir aljabar terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kuantitatif, sedangkan metode yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus. Jumlah populasi terjangkau dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kaliwedi Kabupaten Cirebon yang berjumlah 318 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampelnya menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan mengambil 1 kelas dari 8 kelas yaitu kelas VIII E dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 36 siswa.Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan berpikir aljabar sebagai variabel independent dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika sebagai variabel dependent. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes pilihan ganda untuk variabel kemampuan berpikir aljabar dan tes uraian untuk variabel kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Setelah data diperoleh selanjutnya dilakukan analisis secara deskriptif dan pengujian statistik berupa regresi sederhana. Dari hasil pengolahan data dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0 diperoleh hasil bahwa kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa termasuk dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata tes62,50 dan simpangan baku 13,706. Untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematikanya memiliki rata-rata 63,06 dan simpangan baku 10,523. Persamaan regresi yang dihasilkan adalah Y = 23,654 + 0,630X dengan nilai koefisien determinasi dalam uji kebaikan model sebesar 67,4%. Hal ini berarti bawa setiap ada peningkatan kemampuan berpikir aljabar, maka akan mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika sebesar 0,630

    This research aims to find out the role of adolescent social institution (PSBR) Rumbai the development of teenagers dropout of school as well as to know the factors that support the implementation of the role of adolescent social institution (PSBR) Rumbai the development of teenagers dropout of school. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this research are the employees who work in the adolescent social institution (PSBR) Rumbai which has been set previously amounted to 3 people, then the students who are being coached amounted to 2 people, and the students who have finished nurses amounted to 2 people. Technique of collecting data in this research is done by interview, observation, and documentation. The result of the research shows that the role activity of adolescent social institution (PSBR) Rumbai in the implementation of coaching drop out teenagers through two programs namely guidance program, and service program. The guidance activities provided include: physical guidance, social counseling, mental guidance, and skills guidance. Skills guidance provided include: sewing skills, makeup skills, welding engineering skills, and two-wheeled motor skills. Implementation of guidance activities tailored to the schedule that has been made. For instructors tutoring teachers come from employees PSBR Rumbai and also for guidance skills imported from outside the orphanage is the people who work with PSBR Rumbai. Determination of materials, methods, and learning media tailored to the activities of coaching. The supporting factors for the implementation of the Rural Teenage Youth Social Institution in the development of out-of-school youth are funding factors, human resource factors, facilities and infrastructure factors, and co-operation and outsiders

    Faculty of Computer Science Sriwijaya University is one college that is aware of the importance of a documentation of the data and information for the sustainability activities of the college. Currently documenting existing knowledge about computer engineering and network in FASILKOM is unstructured so that the company has not impacted on the activities of the faculty that was not effective. Based on the analysis, there is a lot of important knowledge whose function is to support the college. The methodology used in this study refers to knowledge management methodology developed by Amrit Tiwana. In this methodology, there are 4 main stages, namely: preparation and evaluation of infrastructure, analysis and design of knowledge management, knowledge management development and evaluation. Knowledge management was urgently needed at this time to facilitate the documentation and USAge issues and improve the quality of the employee at Faculty of Computer Science Sriwijaya University

    The purpose of this research was to analyze market reaction on cash dividends announcement at LQ45 Index company in the year of 2014. The sample in this research was 22 companies, taken by purposive sampling technique with event study method. The data analysis method for hypothesis test used paired sample t-test. The result of this research was ten days before and ten days after dividends announcement showed negative market reaction and wasn`t the differenced abnormal return significantly between the company which shares dividend up and the company which shares dividend down. Based on the paired sample t-test result was (α = 0.05) as significant. It means that negative abnormal return showed that increased dividends shares didn`t have distinct meaning to the information which descreased dividends shares. It indeceted that market wasn`t the information of increasing dividends announcement as references to make investment decision

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan sains melalui pendekatan proyek. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PAUD Dahlia Indah, Medan, Sumatera Utara pada Februari-April 2013. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan dengan satu siklus yang terdiri dari 4 tahap: perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah lima belas anak-anak. Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen observasisebelum siklus dan setelah siklus I, catatan lapangan, dan catatandokumentasi.Dalam penelitian ini persentase analisis data yang didasarkan pada kesepakatan peneliti dan kolaborator adalah nilai masing-masing anak-anak yang mencapai 70%. Hasil datapra-penelitianadalah 23,33% dan pada siklus I adalah 81,85%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan sains dapat ditingkatkan melalui pendekatan proyek

    Penggunaan Mixture Response Surfa Ce Methodology pada Optimasi Formula Brownies Berbasis Tepung Talas Banten (Xanthosoma Undipes K. Koch) sebagai Alternatif Pangan Sumber Serat

    Optimasi formula brownies berbasis tepung talas Banten (Xanthosoma undipes K. Koch) telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan desain mixture simplex lattice dari Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Pengaruh komposisi formula dari tepung talas Banten kisaran 70-100% dan maizena kisaran 0-30% terhadap karakteristik tekstur dan organoleptik Brownies dipelajari. Signifikansi seluruh model regresi yang menjelaskan pengaruh prosentase tepung talas dan maizena ditentukan dalam bentuk analisis ragam, nilai p dan R2. Hasil analisis ragam diperoleh seluruh respon memiliki nilai p yang signifikan dan R2 diatas 0.8 (>80%). Berdasarkan hasil optimasi dari RSM diperoleh formula kombinasi tepung talas Banten dan maizena sebesar 86% - 14% dengan nilai desirability sebesar 0,812 adalah formula optimum dan mengandung 4,66% protein, 33,84% lemak, 15,20% air, 1,66% abu, 44,64% karbohidrat, dan 11,26% serat pangan. Secara keseluruhan panelis memberikan penerimaan yang baik dengan nilai 6,7 dari 9,0. Kandungan serat pangan Brownies tergolong tinggi (16.05% dari Angka Label Gizi pada setiap takaran saji), sehingga dapat digolongkan sebagai pangan sumber serat

    Illumination about hand washing using soap is one of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and has been the world concern, it has because the problem of the lack of hand washing behavior practice occurs in not only developing countries but also developed ones most people still forget FOR perform Hand Washing Behavior. The correct hand washing reduces the incidence of disease. To describe the behavior of elementary school students about Behavior Clean and Healthy with counseling Handwashing in Foundation Tut Wuri Handayani at Medan Mabar.This research is descriptive-analitic cross sectional. The object of research was the IV graders as much as 33 people and school guard, teacher and principal.Results of univariate analysis are better knowledge, attitudes and actions strongly agree sometimes. Then concluded that there is a picture of the extension services PHBS wash hands on knowledge, attitudes, and actions of the students wash their hands, guards, teachers and principals.It is recommended to provide education on an ongoing basis through UKS program of the school

    Chemical Properties of Inceptisol and Rice Yields Applied with Mixed Source Fertilizer (MSF)

    One effort that can be done to improve soil fertility and crop yields is fertilization. Fertilization using a mixed source fertilizer (MSF) is an option to overcome the impact of inorganic fertilizer use and organic fertilizer drawbacks. This study aims to evaluate the effects of MSF application on the chemical properties of Inceptisol and rice yields. A field experiment was conducted using a completely randomized block design (RCBD) with two factors and three replications. The first factor was the three formulas of MSF (F1, F2, F3) and the second factor was MSF doses (0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10 Mg ha-1). The results show that there is no significant difference on the total soil N, available soil P, plant height and total number of tillers of rice plants applied with the three MSF formulas. The increased MSF doses applied significantly improve the soil chemical properties of Inceptisol and rice yields. The application of 10 Mg ha-1 MSF increases total- N (57.89%), available-P (29.13%), exchangeable-Ca and -Mg (117% and 250%, respectively), plant height (40%) and total number of tillers (43.2%) in comparison to those without MSF application. There are interaction effects between formulas and doses of MSF on the amount of exchangeable-K, organic-C content, and CEC of the soil and rice yields. The application of 10 Mg ha-1 MSF F3 results in better effects on the amount of exchangeable-K, organic-C content and CEC of the soil, and number of productive tillers and rice yields than the application of other MSF formulas. The MSF can be used as an alternatif fertilizer that can improve Inceptisol productivity

    Stepping Out of the Cultural Identity: A Critical Analysis of Cathy Song's Memory Poetry

    Cathy Song, a Chinese-Korean ancestry woman poet, grew up in Hawaii, America. In “What Belongs to You”, a poem taken from her second poetry publication, she chronicles the memory of a child who is trapped between her dream and devotion. The theme of the poem is portrayed in a strong poetic devices. The poems lean in vivid visual imageries to evoke to the poet's life memory. The speaker of What Belongs to You dreams of having the freedom and attempts to escape from her parental tie. Ironically, she finds herself devote to her family and tradition. The poems use past materials ranging from domestic domain and landscape which define the speaker's personal memory. Comparing than Cathy's Song first poetry publication, arguably, the cultural materials in the poem cannot be traced through Song's poetic devices as an ethnic woman poet. In fact, song locates the dream and devotion in visual imageries and nostalgic tones in a general way. This is true; Song has denied herself as a cultural visionary. Song merely mines the memory from the point of view and identity of a woman, leaving her cultural traits behind

    Preparing 21st century students to be able to compete in the future, teachers around the world promote several skills to face the challenges of 21st century development. Students need 21st century skills which are known as 4C skills (critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity). Integrating 21st century skills in the learning process effectively becomes very important. Teaching material as a source of learning is needed in this regard. One of the teaching materials is a module. The aim of this research is to develop an integrated Sociolinguistics module on 21st century skills that focus on 4C skills. It aims to find out the suitable of this module as teaching material for students in the English Education Department of STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo. This research method used research and development (R&D). The research procedure was divided into two, namely preparation and implementation. This research was conducted to students in the fifth semester of the academic year 2019/2020 English Education Department of STKIP Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo. Data collection techniques used questionnaire and observation sheets as instrument. This research data analysis technique used quantitative data analysis techniques and qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed the recapitulation of assessment aspects from various experts, sociolinguistics lecturer, student questionnaire sheets, and observations sheet. The following are the percentages of the result module eligibility which includes: the results of the material expert validation was 61.3% (good category); the results of the validation of media experts was 75.8% (excellent category); module self-evaluation results by lecturers was 90% (excellent category); field trial observation sheet results was 78.9% (excellent category); and the results of the student questionnaire sheet was 76.3% (excellent category). So the sociolinguistics module which is integrated with 4C skills is appropriate to be used in the learning process
