Protections for Marginalised Women in University Sexual Violence Policies
Higher education institutions in four of the top 20 wealthiest nations globally (measured by GDP per capita) undermine gender equality by failing to address sexual violence perpetrated against women with marginalised identities. By analysing student sexual violence policies from 80 higher education institutions in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, I argue that these policies fail to account for the ways that race, sexuality, class and disability shape women’s experiences of sexual violence. Further, these deficiencies counteract efforts to achieve gender equality by tacitly denying women who experience violence access to education and health care. The conclusion proposes policy alterations designed to address the complex needs of women with marginalised identities who experience violence, including implementing cultural competency training and increasing institution-sponsored health care services for sexual violence survivors
Banning Blackness: Race, Gender-Based Violence, and Classroom Censorship
This paper examines how the relationship between race and gender-based violence impacts how schools choose which books to ban. In particular, this paper focuses on Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye (1970) and the novel’s place on the American Library Association’s compiled lists of the most frequency banned books in the United States. Using an analysis of The Bluest Eye in conversation with the work of academics such as Spillers (1987) and Crenshaw (1991), this paper posits the intersection between race and rape in The Bluest Eye — and how that intersection implicates white supremacy in gendered violence —which leads to schools banning The Bluest Eye more frequently than other books involving rape without a racialized lens
National Interest: From Abstraction to Strategy
Because the national interest is the foundation for both the National Security Strategy and its supporting National Military Strategy, it is essential that military leaders understand the political context from which the details of the national interest emerge. The guiding concept of national interest is more often assumed than analyzed in the dynamic context of domestic and international politics. For these reasons, Dr. Michael Roskin, Visiting Professor of Foreign Policy, was asked to synthesize the academic literature, focusing on those works that had greatest value and relevance to members of the national security community who must apply as well as serve the national interest.https://press.armywarcollege.edu/monographs/1897/thumbnail.jp

Early warning system based on data mining to identify crime patterns
The analysis of criminal information is critical for the purpose of
preventing the occurrence of offenses, so the crime records committed in the
past are analyzed including perpetrators. The main objective was to identify
crime patterns in the city of Bogota, Colombia, supported using Early Warning
System based on data mining (CRISP-DM method). The research results show
the identification of 12 different criminal profiles demonstrating that the Early
Warning System is applicable since it managed to significantly reduce the time
devoted to the processes of registering complaints and searching for criminal
profiles.Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Universidad de la Costa, CorporaciĂłn Universitaria Latinoamericana
