A references systematization study in the methodology of group piano teaching

    Get PDF
The references for interpretation at the beginning of musical learning constitute the core of group piano teaching. Its stratification in technical, theoretical and tonal references enables an early, organized and effective approach to learning in which interpretation constitutes an agglutinating element. The systematization of positions at the piano, resulting from the organization of technical references, is central to this article since these are essential to the viability of the execution. The remaining references, theoretical and tonal, which are transversal, complete the theoretical frame discussed here. The proposed methodology, aimed at the 1st and 2nd grades of group piano teaching, it not intended to be unique but one of the methodological possibilities in an increasingly emerging area in Portugal, in which interpretation is the final goal

THE DYNAMIC HEDGING EFFECTIVENESS FOR SOYBEAN FARMERS OF MATO GROSSO WITH FUTURES CONTRACTS OF BM&F

Dynamic hedging effectiveness for soybean farmers in Rondonópolis (MT) with futures contracts of BM&F is calculated through optimal hedge determination, using the bivariate GARCH BEKK model, which considers the conditional correlations of the prices series, comparing the results with the minimum variance model effectiveness, calculated by OLS, the unhedged and the naïve hedge positions. The financial effectiveness of the dynamic hedge model is superior and can be used by farmers for several decision making purposes such as price discovery, hedging calibration, cash flow projections, market timing, among others.dynamic hedge, minimum variance, soybeans, Mato Grosso, Agribusiness, Agricultural Finance, Industrial Organization,

For a social cartography of enconunters

This article results from the encounter and experience with the Social Cartography Methodology by Brazilian and Argentinean research groups, composed of architects, urban planners, and geographers in the Dunas neighborhood, within the periphery of Pelotas, in the Southernmost Brazil state of Rio Grande do Sul. The methodology of Social Cartography followed the weaving of the city, the interrelationships of the particular case of the Dunas neighborhood, line-by-line, in the sewing of the daily life, desires, problems, solutions, and public authorities' actions. The text seeks to raise issues related to the Social Cartography method, such as organization, analysis, and forms of applications. It also points to emancipatory and communitarian aspects involved in this process. We propose that Social Cartography can help to weave the city, undoing the dichotomy between center and periphery while new social spaces are produced from intervention research.Fil: Rocha, Eduardo. Modelling fed-batch fermentation processes: An approach based on artificial neural networks

Publicado em "2nd International Workshop on Practical Applications of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (IWPACBB 2008)", ISBN 978-3-540-85860-7Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) have shown to be powerful tools for solving several problems which, due to their complexity, are extremely difficult to unravel with other methods. Their capabilities of massive parallel processing and learning from the environment make these structures ideal for prediction of nonlinear events. In this work, a set of computational tools are proposed, allowing researchers in Biotechnology to use ANNs for the modelling of fed-batch fermentation processes. The main task is to predict the values of kinetics parameters from the values of a set of state variables. The tools were validated with two case studies, showing the main functionalities of the application. This work was supported by the Portuguese FCT under project POSC/EIA/59899/2004

The role of school in educational decisions during the transition to high school public institutions in Mexico City context

This article analyzes the role of schools in educational choices in the transition to public high schools in Mexico City. Secondary schools have the potential to influence educational choices, through the development of certain educational functions. This influence comes in different ways, and is relatively independent of adscriptive characteristics and previous academic performance of students. Schools serve i) as agents contributing to decision making, facilitating continuity on educational trajectories ii) or as instances that do not develop explicit actions aimed to link their students to any of the options offered in the post-secondary educational system. While some schools teaching resources are destined to accompany their students during their decision process, others lack of them, abandoning them in this crucial educational event. The article is based on data provided by an ethnographic study conducted in seven high schools in southern Mexico City between January and July 2012.Fil: RodrĂguez Rocha, Eduardo.
