    Get PDF
This paper deals with dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) controlled by a five-level flying-capacitor multi level converter. To decrease the power-quality disturbances in distribution system, such as voltage imbalances, harmonic voltages, and voltage sags. The organisation of this paper has been divided into three parts; the first one eliminates the modulation high-frequency harmonics using filter increase the transient response. The second one deal with the load voltage; and the third is flying capacitors charged with balanced voltages. The MATLAB simulation results effectively for five level flying capacitor multilevel converters charged with balanced voltage regulation

Purpose – The purpose of this study revealed that still most of the university libraries in Karnataka are struggling with have lack of AET facilities and failing the effective fulfil the different disability users informative needs and expectations. This study will prove useful for the LIS professionals and the research community to provide an insight into the current status of the AET available in university libraries in Karnataka. Design/Methodology/Approach - A structured questionnaire was framed and relevant were collected through survey method used as the basic tool for data collection. total 29 disabilities users from 8 libraries were selected randomly on the basis of willingness of the users to participate in the study. Collected data were tabulated and analyzed with descriptive statistics methods and tools were used in this study. Findings – The study findings revealed that people with disabilities have a good to fair understanding about the AET products, services and facilities. Most of the disability users were ‘strongly agreed’ with towards need of the AET technological applications are most essential to all disabilities to work in the digital environment. Originality/Value – The present study is original in nature. The study will be useful to the people with disabilities to understand the Awareness towards Adaptive Equipment Technologies in University Libraries of Karnatak

Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Activities of a New 5-Chloroisatin Schiff Base and its Metal Complexes

    Get PDF
Copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes of 5-chloroisatin Schiff base (L) (L= Schiff base derived from 5-chloroisatin and 2-methyl-4- nitro aniline) were synthesized and characterized. The authenticity of the ligand and its metal complexes had been established by micro analysis, IR, NMR, LC/MS, UV-Vis and electrical conductance measurements. The ligand acts as a bidentate in which the carbonyl oxygen and the azomethine nitrogen of 5-chloroisatin are involved in co-ordination. Square planar geometry was proposed for Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes and tetrahedral geometry was proposed for Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes. The ligand and its metal complexes have been screened for their antibacterial activity against bacterias viz. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli etc. and antifungal activity against fungi Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus flavous etc. The activities of both the samples have shown significant and noticeable changes on complexations

The complexes of Copper(II), Cobalt(II), Nickel(II) and Zinc(II) of Isatin Schiff base (L) (L = Schiff base derived from Isatin and 2-methyl-4-nitroaniline) were synthesized and characterized. The authenticity of the ligand and its metal complexes had been established by micro anal., IR, NMR, LC/MS, UV-VIS and elec. conductance measurements. The ligand acts as a bidentate in which the carbonyl oxygen and the azomethine nitrogen of isatin are involved in co-ordination. Square planar geometry was proposed for Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes and tetrahedral geometry was proposed for Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes. The ligand and its metal complexes have been screened for their antibacterial, antifungal and anthelmintic activity. The activities of the samples have shown significant and noticeable changes on complexation

Catalytic activity of supported solid catalysts for phenol hydroxylation

    Get PDF
Cobalt(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes of 2-phenylbenzimidazole (PhBzlH) encapsulated in the supercages of zeolite-Y and ZSM-5 have been synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic studies (IR, UV/visible, EPR), elemental analyses, thermal studies and X-ray diffraction patterns. The catalytic activity of encapsulated complexes was investigated for the hydroxylation of phenol using 30 % H2O2 as an oxidant. Under optimized reaction conditions, the hydroxylation of phenol yielded catechol and hydroquinone as the major products. All catalysts show good selectivity for diphenol products. A maximum conversion of phenol was obtained with [Cu(PhBzlH)]-Y as the catalyst. The results showed that conversion of phenol varies in the order [Cu(PhBzlH)]-Y (53 %) > [Cu(PhBzlH)]-ZSM-5 > (49 %) > [Co(PhBzlH)]-ZSM-5 (47 %) > [Co(PhBzlH)]-Y (46 %) > [Zn(PhBzlH)]-Y (45 %) > [Zn(PhBzlH)]-ZSM-5 (41 %) after 6 h of reaction time. Test for the recyclability of the reaction was also carried out and the results indicate their recyclability

Feature based-Learning with Data Increasing for video Recommendation and Computing

Image content analysis is crucial for determining the reliability of a link between two videos. Video characteristics are increasingly being used in image and video representation as custom pre-trained picture and video convolutional neural networks become generally available. People also have limited access to video editing tools for a variety of reasons, such as ownership and privacy concerns. You don't need to go back to the source video data to use the refined features again. An affine transformation, for instance, can be used to map a well-studied function onto an unfamiliar domain. To do this, we use a unique triplet failure in conjunction with the re-learning strategy. We propose a contemporary data augmentation method that may be applied to functionality on various frames for videos as an alternative to employing specific motion data. Extensive testing on the well-known Hulu content-based Video Relevance challenge demonstrates the process's efficacy and provides solid evidence of state-of-the-art performance

Purpose – In Karnataka, there are considerable number of differently abled persons, who are studying in various educational institutions. It has been observed that some of the educational institutions provided with suitable access facilities in Libraries to the disabled, but majority of them are devoid of this facility. In this article, an attempt has been made to study on the facilities being provided to the disabled users in some of the University Libraries of Karnataka. The facilities being provided are briefed under 3 major categories – (1) Access to resources, (2) Physical access to library building, and (3) Services and communications. Design/Methodology/Approach – Questionnaire method has been adopted to collect data from identified 21 Universities in India. Responses received from the Libraries have been analysed and presented. Findings – The findings are presented under above mentioned 3 major categories in the body of the article. Originality/Value – The present work is original in nature. The study will be useful to the disabled to understand on the facilities available for them in the selected Universities of Karnataka
