    : Entrepreneurship Attitudes of Vocational School Students. The aim of this correlational-survey study is to analyze the relationship between residential environment as well as family economics education and students' entrepreneurship attitudes through motivation business. This study involved a sample of 124 second-year students of vocational schools and their parents. The results of path analysis show that residential environment and the intensity level of family economics education have positive influence on the students' entrepreneurship attitudes, and business motivation appears to have the highest influence. It is, therefore, suggested that schools create a learning atmosphere which enables their students to develop their entrepreneurship attitudes through real experiences

    : Developing Modules on Entrepreneurship for Vocational High Schools. This study was aimed at developing modules on entrepreneurship for Vocational High Schools. This study was carried out within the setting of four public and prĂ­vate Vocational High Schools in the Municipality and Regency of Malang, East Java. This article reports particularly on the second phase of the two phases of module development. The second phase was concentrated on meetings in which simulation of the try-out of the modules was made and feedback was gathered for the revision of the modules. The meetings were held at the Faculty of Economics, State University of Malang. The modules were identified to be useful for teachers of entrepreneurial skills and good for the application of modular teaching method

    The utilization of Indonesia's fisheries potential should be supported by the development of fisheries industry, more specifically by the improvement on fisheries supply chain management. It is needed to preserve the quality and safety of fisheries product from sea to consumers' table and the sustainable fisheries supply. The fisheries product is perishable therefore the appropriate handling and full controlled process are needed to maintain product quality and safety. In fisheries industry, quality and safety can be maintained by applying good logistic practices (GLoP). GLoP is best practices ofcold chain management supported by quality and safety control system such as good manufacturing practices (GMP), standard sanitation operating procedure (SSOP) and hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP). On the other hand, the sustainability of fisheries supply canbe achieved by applying full controlled resources management. The commitment and cooperation of all parties on fisheries industry, as well as the standard implementation of fishery management is needed to improve quality and quantity of Indonesia's fisheries products

    Cooperative Learning Group for English Teachers: a School-based Teachers' Professional Development

    The process of civil servant teacher's recruitment makes a school to possibly have both, or either, qualified and under qualified English teachers. The former can observe their job as teachers well while the later might not. The case is worse when they are not only incapable of teaching well but also still need help in their English proficiency. Asking them to take an English class is almost impossible. There must be ways of developing then professionalism while they are performing their tasks as teachers.Building a cooperative learning group for English teachers will improve their professionalism, both the qualified and under qualified ones, with its very slogan "sink and swim together". Each group will be responsible for the improvement of all members because their success is determined by the success of the group and the group also determines the success of the individual. Being in this group, qualified teachers can help their friends with their experiences while those who are not lucky in terms of both English and teaching skills will benefit from them without feeling underestimated due to the individual accountability characteristic of cooperative learning.In the group, teachers can do various professional development activities. They can build a discussion group, a reading group, peer observation and team teaching, and conduct a collaborative action research. This group will work better if the head master or a coordinator keeps an eye on it. This movement will also be much more effective if it is used as one of the criteria of kenaikan pangkat

    Kernel Logistic Regression-linear for Leukemia Classification Using High Dimensional Data

    Kernel Logistic Regression (KLR) is one of the statistical models that has been proposed for classification in the machine learning and data mining communities, and also one of the effective methodologies in the kernel–machine techniques. Basely, KLR is kernelized version of linear Logistic Regression (LR). Unlike LR, KLR has ability to classify data with non linear boundary and also can accommodate data with very high dimensional and very few instances. In this research, we proposed to study the use of Linear Kernel on KLR in order to increase the accuracy of Leukemia Classification. Leukemia is one of the cancer types that causes mortality in medical diagnosis problem. Improving the accuracy of Leukemia Classification is essential for more effective diagnosis and treatment of Leukemia disease. The Leukemia data sets consists of 7120 (very high dimensional) DNA micro arrays data of 72 (very few instances) patient samples on the state of Leukemia types. In Leukemia classification based upon gene expression, monitoring data using DNA micro array offer hope to achieve an objective and highly accurate classification. It can be demonstrated that the use of Linear Kernel on Kernel Logistic Regression (KLR–Linear) can improve the performance in classifying Leukemia patient samples and also can be shown that KLR–Linear has better accuracy than KLR–Polynomial and Penalized Logistic Regression

    Developing Performance-based Authentic Assessment Instruments in Learning Productive Marketing of Merchandise Planning Subject (A Study in the Xith Marketing Class in Smkn 1 Turen Kabupaten Malang)

    The purpose of this study and development is to produce products such as performance-based authentic assessment instruments to facilitate teachers to conduct authentic assessment toward process and student learning outcomes in Merchandise Planning subject. This study and development of assessment instruments used R & D Models by Borg and Gall. The stages in the development model of R & D is only up to the fifth stage. The products of development results would be validated by one expert on validation of content, 2 experts on validation of construct, and limited trials on assessment instruments to determine the practicality and readability of the assessment instruments toward 12 students of SMK. The product of the research and the development of development of performance-based authentic assessment instruments on marketing productive learning of merchandise planning is in a printed form. The result of this validation shows that knowledge assessment instruments with eligibility, namely ”eligible”, skills assessment instruments with eligibility, namely ”eligible”, and manner assessment instruments with eligibility, namely ”eligible”. While the validation of construct shows that the knowledge assessment instruments with eligibility, namely ”eligible”, skills assessment instruments with eligibility, namely ”eligible”, and manner assessment instruments with eligibility, namely ”eligible”. The limited trial results have shown that teachers’ responses toward the practicality of the assessment instruments with the criteria of ”easy to use” and for the readability of student worksheet with the criteria of ”easy to use”.   Keywords: Assessment Instruments, Authentic, Performance-Based, Marketing, Merchandise Plannin

    Pengaruh Suhu dan Kelembaban terhadap Pertumbuhan Fusarium Verticillioides Bio 957 dan Produksi Fumonisin B1

    Fusarium verticillioides adalah spesies yang dominan dalam memproduksi fumonisin pada produk-produk pertanian. Fumonisin B1 (FB1) merupakan fumonisin yang paling banyak ditemukan di alam dan paling toksik dibandingkan jenis fumonisin lainnya. Faktor ekstrinsik utama yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan produksi FB1 adalah suhu dan kelembaban. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh suhu dan kelembaban terhadap pertumbuhan Bio 957 dan produksi FB1 pada media jagung dan kedelai. Jagung dan kedelai yang telah diiinokulasi dengan suspensi Bio 957 diinkubasi pada suhu 20, 30 dan 40 °C dengan kelembaban 70, 80 dan 90% selama 14 hari. Pengamatan pertumbuhan dilakukan dengan penimbangan massa sel dan analisis konsentrasi FB1 dilakukan dengan HPLC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan Bio 957 pada jagung dan kedelai paling tinggi terjadi pada suhu 30 °C dan kelembaban 90%, berat massa selnya yaitu 904,5 dan 885,5 mg per 20 g masing-masing jagung dan kedelai. Konsentrasi FB1 paling tinggi pada jagung dan kedelai masing-masing yaitu 374 dan 67 ppb, pengamatan pada suhu 30 °C pada jagung dan 20 °C pada kedelai, keduanya pada kelembaban yang sama (90%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bio 957 mampu tumbuh dengan baik dan menghasilkan konsentrasi FB1 paling tinggi pada jagung dan kedelai pada suhu 20 dan 30 °C dengan kelembaban 90%. Pada suhu 40 °C dengan kelembaban 70, 80 dan 90%, Bio 957 tidak menunjukkan adanya pertumbuhan, sehingga pembentukan FB1 dapat dihindari
