Konrad Eriksson og skildringa av eit grensemål

Artikkelen tek utgangspunkt i den fagbiografiske framstellinga om den norske målføregranskaren og motstandsmannen Konrad Eriksson som Geirr Wiggen hadde i Maal og Minne (2009, hefte 2). Avhandlinga til Eriksson om drevsjømålet har i mange år vore ein del av kjeldematerialet til Norsk Ordbok. To grunnleggjande spørsmål blir tekne opp i denne artikkelen. Det eine er om ei slik tradisjonell målføreavhandling med vekt på historisk fonologi også gjev relevante leksikografiske opplysningar, og det andre er om ho kan brukast som grunnlag for ei samanlikning av det tradisjonelle ordtilfanget i dialektane på norsk og svensk side av riksgrensa. Her er to svenske arbeid frå høvesvis Idre og Särna referansemateriale.ââ¬âââ¬âââ¬âKonklusjonen på det første spørsmålet er at i arbeid med historisk fonologi i eit målføre er semantiske vurderingar ein heilt naudsynt medspelar. Den junggrammatiske metoden i avhandlinga om drevsjømålet får fram påliteleg kunnskap om den semantiske sida av heimleg ordtilfang. Når det gjeld fellesskap i ordtilfang for grannebygder på begge sider av riksgrensa til Sverige, syner undersøkinga eit relativt sparsamt felles ordtilfang. Den fremste årsaka er truleg ulike utgangspunkt for og siktemål med dei tre jamførte arbeida. Riksgrensa har nok også hatt mykje å seie, men likevel dokumenterer desse ulike arbeida at ein femdel av det beskrivne ordtilfanget er felles

Although publishing houses ought to be an important participant in the marketing ofdictionaries, necessary qualifications are to be found in the editorial dictionary staff. Inparticular this is the case when it comes to large multi-volume national dictionaries. Inspite of this, it is hard to find descriptions of dictionary presentations intended for pupilsand students. An investigation of curricula in compulsory school and upper-secondaryschool in the Scandinavian countries reveals big differences between the countries. TheDanish compulsory school curriculum shows thorough use of dictionaries, whereas thesubject is not mentioned at all in the Swedish curriculum. Taking a presentation of NorskOrdbok for pupils and students as a starting point, the authors show how the use of NorskOrdbok can be integrated in mother tongue teaching to expand not only word knowledge,but also knowledge of language history and dialectology. In the light of curricula in compulsory school and upper-secondary school the authors have investigated how monolingual dictionaries are exploited in Norwegian mother tongue teaching in upper-secondary school by questionnaires from 111 mother tongue teachers. The investigation reveals that 86 percent of the teachers provide training in dictionary use, but that the attention is mainly given to formal information such as spelling and flexion.
