Ketika bongkar muat banyak pekerjaan baik beresiko tinggi maupum rendah. Pada penelitian ini peneliti mencoba menjelaskan tentang Upaya peningkatan keselamatan kerja saat bongkar muat batu bara yang dilakukan di MV. Manalagi Asta Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan metode penelitian Observasi wawancara dan dokumentasi dengan menggunakan fishbone analysis. Kesimpulan dan hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa Kecelakaan kerja yang terjadi pada crew MV. MANALAGI ASTA disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti, kurangnya pengalaman crew dalam bekerja di atas kapal, kurangnya kedisiplinan dan pemahaman akan penerapan prosedur keselamatan kerja, pekerja yang susah diatur, kondisi peralatan di kapal yang rusak, serta banyak peralatan keselamatan kerja yang kurang layak. Sehingga mengkibatkan kerugian bagi crew maupun bagi perusahaan. Dan Peralatan keselamatan kerja yang ada di atas kapal masih banyak yang kurang sesuai dengan standar aturan yang berlaku serta kurangnya familiarisasi bagi crew yang baru

    Tingginya angka Positif HIV/AIDS di Indonesia membuat Indonesia berada pada peringkat ketiga dalam pertumbuban kasus HIV/AIDS tercepat di Asia-Pasifik setelah India dan Cina. HIV/AIDS bisa bertumbuh dengan cepat di Indonesia dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan HIV/AIDS dari masyarakat Indonesia. Dalam kurangnya pengetahuan HIV/AIDS memunculkan masalah baru yaitu respon masyarakat yang menolak, takut, dan diskriminasi terhadap orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA). Masalah baru yang muncul membuat hambatan dalam segala bentuk pengurangan angka positif HIV/AIDS di Indonesia. Rancangan tugas akhir yang dibuat bertujuan membuat media edukasi yang berbentuk zine tentang edukasi seputar HIV/AIDS. Dalam pembuatan media zine ini penulis memberikan tiga bagian yaitu konten informatif, edukatif dan persuasif, lalu dalam ketiga konten tersebut terdapat penggabungan antara copywriting, ilustrasi dan komik yang berguna untuk lebih mudah dalam penyampaian pesan yang ingin disampaikan oleh penulis.The high number of HIV/AIDS positives in Indonesia makes Indonesia the third fastest growing country in Asia-Pacific after India and China. HIV/AIDS can grow rapidly in Indonesia due to the lack of HIV/AIDS knowledge of the Indonesian people. The lack of knowledge of HIV/AIDS raises new problems, namely the response of people who reject, fear, and discriminate against people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). New promblems that arise create obstacles in any form of HIV/AIDS positive rate reduction in Indonesia. The design of the final project aims to create educational media in the form of a zine about HIV/AIDS education. In making this zine media, the author provides three parts, namely informative, educational, and persuasive content, then in the three contents there is a combination of copwriting, illustrations and comics that are useful for easier delivery of the message the author want to convey

    In this study, Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences was used to conduct experimental research on several elementary school students at TPQ Al-Ikhwan Meruya Jakarta, Indonesia. The initial stage of this study was to classify the types of student intelligence using multiple intelligence instruments adopted from Shearer in 1997. Furthermore, learning strategies are applied to students according to the kind of intelligence. This study observed the differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students who have musical intelligence before and after the application of interactive learning media in the form of music containing a song with the title "Aku Bangun Datar" and the lyrics are examples of a two-dimensional figure with natural objects. The research method used was a quantitative quasi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design. Research data analysis using a statistical t-test for the difference in the mean of the two populations. The results of data analysis obtained a t value of -8,000, while the t table is -2.0686. The comparison between the t value and the t table is known that t is more significant than the t table, so the hypothesis is rejected. It means that there is a significant difference in students' knowledge about shapes before and after using music media

    Formulation and Characterization of Nanoemulsion of Tread leave Ethanol Extract (Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don) as Antihyperglycemic

    Nanoemulsion technology has been widely developed and applied on natural extract to enhance bioavailability and drug effects. The tread plant (Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don) is commonly known in traditional medicine for lowering blood sugar levels. This study aimed to make and characterize nanoemulsion of tread leaf extract as antihyperglycemic using sesame oil and olive oil as carriers. Nanoemulsion formulations were made using ethanol extract of tread leaves, and additives such as Tween 80, isopropyl myristate in varying ratios and some of vegetable oils. The nanoemulsion was physically evaluated tests including the pH, the type of emulsion, homogeneity and size distribution which measured by the Particle Size Analyzer (PSA). Antihyperglycemic testing was carried out on 4 groups of male mice (5 mice/ group) induced with glucose and treated with extract, nanoemulsion, and distilled water. The results showed that the nanoemulsion preparation had a pH of 6.4 to 6.5; o/w type of emulsion and it was stable on storage for 1 month. The particle size distribution of the nanoemulsion was 85.8% with size <500 nm. Nanoemulsion could reduce the blood glucose levels in mice to normal level after 60 minutes. It also showed the decreae for 43-46% of the blood glucose level after 2 hours. The Nanoemulsion of tread leaf extract has a faster ability and a greater percentage in reducing blood glucose levels compared to extract and control.     IN VIVO CHARACTERIZATION OF LESS PAINFUL PROPOFOL NANOEMULSION USING PALM OIL FOR INTRAVENOUS DRUG DELIVERY

    Objective: The objective of present work was to evaluate the effectiveness of propofol in nanoemulsion based palm oil that called as NEMS™, which was a choice of anesthetic drug to induce and maintenance general anesthesia to reduce pain on injection activity and also to evaluate the in vivo characterization of propofol in NEMS™. Methods: Preparation of propofol nanoemulsion using NEMS™ technology has been performed for propofol 1% in NEMS™ (P1%), and propofol 2% in NEMS™ (P2%). Determination of free propofol concentration in aqueous phase was conducted using HPLC and rat paw lick test was evaluated as in vivo test to assay the intensity of pain on injection site. The sleep recovery test was conducted to evaluate the pharmacological effect and erythrocyte hemolysis test also conducted to ensure the safety of propofol in NEMS™. All of the test results were compared with Diprivan®1% as a positive standard. Results: The contents of free propofol in formulation P1% and Diprivan®1% in aqueous-phase were 6.20±0.03 µg/ml and 15.02±0.33 µg/ml, respectively (*P<0.05). The rat paw lick test showed that the formulation P1% was significantly (*P<0.05) less painful when compared to Diprivan®1%. There were no significant differences in pharmacological effect for all of the formulations (*P>0.05). The erythrocyte haemolysis test show that all formulation still safe for our blood. Conclusion: Palm oil can be used as a carrier for propofol and it was successfully reduced the free propofol contents and the intensity of pain on injection site in rats

    Physical Evaluation and Anti-Aging Effect of Red Bean Ethanolic Extract (Vigna angularis (Wild.) Ohwi & Ohashi) Peel-Off Gel Mask

    BACKGROUND: The product development of an anti-aging dosage for human skin is a very interesting issue because every human wants to be looked young as long as possible. A studies and development of plant that contain of antioxidant properties need to be studied further. AIM: The aim of this research was to formulate and evaluate the physical and anti-aging effect of the Peel-Off Gel Mask from Red Bean Ethanol Extract (PGMRB). METHODS: The Extract Ethanol of Red Bean was extracted by maceration methods with ethanol 96%. The Peel-off base was consisted of Polyvinyl alcohol, glycerin and carbomer 940. The gel formulation was made in 3 formulas (F1, F2, and F3) consisted with 1%, 3% and 5% ethanol extract, respectively. The blank formula (F0) was also prepared as a control formula. The evaluation of gel formulation included organoleptic test, pH determination, stability test, homogeneity test, peeling time, irritation test and anti-aging effect test included moisture level, skin pore size, the evenness test and dark spot test by using skin analyzer. RESULTS: All of the formula showed a homogen, pH around 6, peeling time less than 20 minutes, no irritation and stable for 12 weeks storage at room temperature. The treatment with PGMRB demonstrated an improvement on the moisture level, pore size, evenness and the number of black spots with F3 containing 5% extract as the best formula. CONCLUSION: The ethanol extract of red bean can be formulated become a peel-off gel mask and having the anti-aging effect

    Saat ini banyak masyarakat yang lebih memilih penggunaan obat alami karena dianggap memiliki lebih banyak khasiat dengan efek samping yang sedikit. Tanaman berkhasiat telah lama digunakan oleh nenek moyang untuk pengobatan penyakit juga pemeliharaan kesehatan. Pengetahuan ini disampaikan secara turun-temurun dari orang tua atau orang yang dianggap ahli untuk melakukan pengobatan tradisional. Salah satunya adalah minyak karo yang dihasilkan dari mengekstrak berbagai macam tanaman berkhasiat untuk menyembuhkan penyakit. Minyak karo adalah minyak khas dari Tanah Karo atau dari Kabupaten Karo. Banyak jenis ragam dari minyak karo ini sendiri, tujuan penggunaannya juga berbeda-beda. Ada yang bertujuan menyembuhkan penyakit tulang, menyembuhkan gatal-gatal atau alergi hingga dapat menyembuhkan gigitan hewan berbisa. Desa Semangat yang terletak di Kecamatan Barusjahe Kabupaten Karo adalah salah satu desa yang memproduksi minyak karo. Namun, masih ada minyak karo yang belum terdaftar di Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten/Kota dan belum mendapatkan izin UMOT (Usaha Mikro  Obat Tradisional) sehingga peredarannya masih sangat terbatas, padahal produk ini sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bermanfaat dalam memberikan solusi dalam usaha membantu masyarakat untuk mengajukan dan mendapatkan izin UMOT, sehingga dapat mengedarkan minyak karo secara luas. Edukasi mengenai cara mendapatkan izin UMOT diharapkan dapat membantu masyarakat yang memiliki usaha pembuatan minyak karo dan dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu produk usaha yang dapat dikembangkan di masyarakat Karo, khususnya yang berada di Desa Semangat

    THE UTILIZATION OF CORN COB´S CRACKER AS ANTICIPATION OF HARVEST FAILURE FOR ECONOMIC IMPROVEMENT FOR FARMER IN NARIGUNUNG 1 VILLAGE, KARO REGENCY

    Narigunung 1 village is one of the villages located in Tiganderket District, Karo Regency, and North Sumatra Province. The community in this village consists of 150 heads of households whereby 90% earn a living by farming. The community manages various kinds of horticulture plants, especially vegetables and fruits, i.e. corn. The Geographic Village, which is located near to (± 8 km) the bottom of Sinabung mount, causes people often get crop failures, since the hot wind released from the Sinabung mount. Especially at the dry season, since the village is far from the source of water, therefore only relies on rain drops both for daily needs and for their agricultural lands. Failure of this harvest can reduce the economic welfare level of the community in the village. This community service activity was carried out, with the aim to stimulate the farmers and the community in Narigunung 1 village to make cracker businesses as a means of improving community welfare. The activity was carried out in the form of lectures, discussions, practice of making crackers from corn cobs, dissemination of food additives that were good for health, and the distribution of modules. After this service activity, the community in Narigunung 1 has been able to make crackers by utilizing corn cob which increases the economic value of the corn cob, using a grinding machine as a transfer knowledge of science and technology in the community and gain comprehensive knowledge about additional ingredients that are good for health
