Identitat i llengua
El terme identitat implica quatre components: diferenciació, continuïtat,
consciència i reconeixement.
cultural i nacional.
The term identity involves four components: differentiation,
continuity, awareness and recognition. Without differentiation there can
be no distinction between any of them; without continuity, we cannot talk
about the same person over time; self-awareness allows us to have a critical
awareness and specific vision of the world around us; and the external
recognition of difference comes in answer to the need to be accepted by others.
Language is not just about identity, it is also a cultural thing: a form of
symbolic mediation with reality and groups that is part of the wealth of human
experience accumulated in the course of history. Culture is not just
language, although in the case of Catalonia it is the vehicle of cultural production
and one of the most characteristic embodiments of its cultural and
national personality. To attain normality, the use of Catalan language must
be fostered, its unity as a language of the Catalan-speaking areas must be
defended and its recognition in Spain and the European Union promoted.
To this end, there are two fundamental elements: public policies that compensate
the disequilibrium with regard to the minoritised language, and a
certain linguistic reassertion by Catalan speakers. Ensuring that everyone
knows Catalan language in its specific territory means promoting equal opportunities, including linguistic opportunities, for all the citizens of Catalonia.

Luttinger parameter of quasi-one-dimensional para- H2
We have studied the ground-state properties of para-hydrogen in one dimension and in quasi-one-dimensional configurations using the path-integral ground-state Monte Carlo method. This method produces zero-temperature exact results for a given interaction and geometry. The quasi-one-dimensional setup has been implemented in two forms: the inner channel inside a carbon nanotube coated with H2 and a harmonic confinement of variable strength. Our main result is the dependence of the Luttinger parameter on the density within the stable regime. Going from one dimension to quasi-one dimension, keeping the linear density constant, produces a systematic increase of the Luttinger parameter. This increase is, however, not enough to reach the superfluid regime and the system always remain in the quasicrystal regime, according to Luttinger liquid theory.Postprint (author's final draft
Unveiling the photophysics of thiourea from CASPT2/CASSCF potential energy surfaces and singlet/triplet excited state molecular dynamics simulations
This work describes the decay mechanism of photoexcited thiourea, both in gas
phase and in solution, from the information inferred from the topography of the
excited and ground state potential energy surfaces and mixed singlet/triplet
quantum classical molecular dynamics simulations. Our gas phase results reveal
T1/S0 intersystem crossing as the dominant (49%) intrinsic decay channel to the
ground state, which reaches a population of 0.28 at the final time of our
simulations (10 ps). Population of the T1, would occur after internal
conversion to the S1 from the spectroscopic S2 electronic state, followed by
S1->T2 intersystem crossing and T2->T1 internal conversion processes. Minor
decay channels occurring exclusively along the singlet manifold, i.e. S2->S0
(33%) and S1->S0 (18%), were also observed to play a role in the relaxation of
photoexcited thiourea in the gas phase. The explicit incorporation of
water-thiourea interactions in our simulations was found to provoke a very
significant delay in the decay to the ground state of the system, with no
transitions to the S0 being registered during the first 10 ps of our
simulations. Intermolecular vibrational energy redistribution and explicit
hydrogen bond interaction established between water molecules and the NH2 group
of thiourea were found to structurally or energetically hamper the access to
the intersystem crossing or internal conversion funnels with the ground state
