Knowledge of nursing students about the physiological determinants of skin care for newborns and infants
The skin is an organ that contains many functions in the organization: it is a mechanical part, ensures participation in thermoregulation, supervises immunological processes and limits the loss of body fluids, involves participation in the synthesis of vitamin D. Knowledge of physiological conditions of its care and a large impact on the course of adaptation processes, and also on the child's overall health, actions against harmful and microbial agents. Adherence to the principles of skin care for newborns and infants is aimed at maintaining its integrity, preventing its damage, strengthening the barrier, protecting the body against the penetration of chemical substances, behavior and mortality in the newborn and infants
Mothers' knowledge about urinary tract infections in children and their prevention
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a serious medical problem. The disease affects a significant percentage of children, including newborns, infants, older children and adolescents. Numerous factors influence the course of UTI and the manifestation of clinical symptoms. UTIs that are diagnosed too late, untreated or poorly treated are the cause of many complications that can pose a serious threat to the health and even life of a child. In the prevention of UTI, in their diagnosis and therapy, an important role is played by nursing staff, who have an obligation to educate child carers on the subject of risk factors, the importance of check-ups in early diagnosis of infections, and rules in force during therapy. It is not without significance to learn skills related to the care of the child's intimate areas, as well as the principles relevant for the prevention of relapses

The role of the nurse in performing skin allergy testing in children and adults AbstractAllergic diseases are a serious problem of modern medicine. Complex and multifactorial patomechanism is the cause of many medical and psychosocial problems. Diagnosis of an allergic disease is the basis for implementing therapeutic methods that minimize the symptoms of the disease. In addition to the doctor’s role in the diagnostic process an important place occupies the nurse. It is important to carry out physical examination, including taking medical history of the patient and performing skin allergy testing. Skin tests enable the identification of alergen(s) triggering and/or intensifying allergic symptoms. Key words: allergic diseases, skin allergy tests
Techniques for administering inhaled medicines to patients with bronchial asthma in nursing practice
Bronchial asthma due to complex etiopathogenesis, the frequency of exacerbations is a serious medical and social problem [10]. At the root of the disease lies the chronic inflammatory process, which is the main cause of symptoms [5,18]. In the therapy of bronchial asthma, the basis is drugs administered directly to the affected area of the inflammatory process by various inhalation techniques. Ignorance of drug inhalation techniques and/or failure of the patient/caregivers to make pharmacotherapy recommendations is associated with a risk of many side effects. In order for patient therapy to be safe and effective, it is necessary to carry out large-scale educational activities both among medical staff as well as patients and their caregivers in the field of aerosol therapy techniques.

Analysis of problems occurring in the care of a patient with liver cirrhosis
Introduction: Liver cirrhosis is a disease whose development is influenced by many factors, including those related to lifestyle. The disease causes disturbances in the functioning of not only the liver but also many other organs and systems. During the course of the disease, there are a number of complications that affect the patient's functioning in all areas. Patients with liver cirrhosis require constant and systematic treatment and comprehensive care, including care provided by nursing staff.
Purpose of research: Analysis of problems occurring in the care of patients with liver cirrhosis
Material and methods: The study included 103 patients with liver cirrhosis, hospitalized from October 10, 2022 to April 10, 2023. in the Observation and Infection Ward for Adults of the SPZOZ in Puławy. The method used in the work was a diagnostic survey, the technique was a survey, and the research tool was an original survey questionnaire developed for the needs of the research.
Results: Patients with liver cirrhosis have many problems of a physical nature and related to non-compliance with medical recommendations, which may affect the inhibition of the progression of the disease, the prevention of complications and the improvement of the general condition.
Conclusions:
Patients with liver cirrhosis have a number of physical problems, the knowledge of which may affect the organization of work of nursing staff, facilitate the identification of problems, help determine the goal of care and plan nursing interventions.
Not all respondents followed the specialist's recommendations, including: in the field of pharmacotherapy, dietary recommendations, performing check-ups, reporting for follow-up visits and physical activity.
An important element in the care of a patient with liver cirrhosis is patient education and motivation to follow recommendations that are important in stopping the progression of the disease, preventing complications and improving the general condition
The role of nursing staff in feeding a child with cystic fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a systemic chronic disease that is characterized by chronic obstructive changes, recurrent respiratory tract infections, and digestive disorders and their consequences. In CF, digestive tract disorders include three functions: digestion, absorption and motor activity. Education on the subject of modified nutrition principles and their impact on the course of the disease, prevention of complications, length and quality of life of the child is a function of the therapy set

The role of nursing staff in the nutritional therapy of a child with cystic fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is classified as a rare genetic disease and at the same time is the most common inherited disease in an autosomal recessive way. In Poland the disease is diagnosed in 1 in 4394-5000 live neonatal births [7, 9]. CF is a systemic chronic disease with progressive progression, incurable [10]. The cause of most problems in patients with CF are: chronic obstructive lesions and respiratory tract infections and impaired digestion processes with their consequences. The basis in the patient care of CF is the education of the patient/his caregivers in the prevention and treatment of bronchopulmonary disease and modified nutrition rules
Intensity of COPD symptoms in comparison with spirometry parameters
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the most common illnesses which occurs globally. In 2018 it was the third cause of death. Growing incidence of COPD in Poland causes crucial social, economic and individual consequences. Spirometry is a test which allows detecting COPD on its early stage, states its severity and also predicting forthcoming course of this illness. Along with FEV1, FVC is a standard parameter to check airways obstruction. Early detection of the disease before the first symptoms leads to successful treatment. Nevertheless, patients usually arrive to be examined, when the symptoms intensity of COPD influence their normal existence. The aim of the study was to analyze intensity of symptoms of COPD in the correlation with FEV1 and FEV1/FVC spirometry parameters. Materials and methods The study was conducted in the specialist respiratory care clinic. The study group consisted of 68 patients over 50 year’s old suffering from moderate to severe COPD. Documentation analysis and diagnostic search was applied in the study. As far as the research tool is concerned CAT questionnaire has been used, which allows to estimate the intensity of the symptoms and how they affect everyday life of the patients and their state of well-being. Spirometry testing has been performed according to ERS standards with the use of MES Lung test 1000. Statistical analysis has been conducted with the use of ANOVA test. Results As far as the question in the CAT concerning sleeping disorders resulted from symptoms of COPD statistically significant differences were found in FEV1/FVC and FEV1 values. (anova, F3, 66 = 4,556 i 4,169 respectively, p<0,01). Regarding FEV1/FVC and FEV1 values, clinically significant differences have been shown among women who stated in the CAT questionnaire they had minor problems with sputum excretion. (test t-student, t16= 2,746 i 2,279 respectively, p<0,05). Conclusions Evaluating intensity of the symptoms in the course of COPD in the study group, most of the problems were caused by effort dyspnea, cough and difficulties in everyday activities. Men, among whom the symptoms of disease cause the sleeping disorders have lower values of FEV1 than women. Sputum excretion has crucial influence on lowering FEV1 and FEV1/FVC
