Allowed slepton intergenerational mixing in light of light element abundances
We studied allowed region on the intergenerational mixing parameters of
sleptons from a viewpoint of big-bang nucleosynthesis in a slepton-neutralino
coannihilation scenario. In this scenario, Li and Li problems can be
solved by considering exotic reactions caused by bound-state effects with a
long-lived slepton. Light element abundances are calculated as functions of the
relic density and lifetime of the slepton which considerably depend on the
intergenerational mixing parameters. Compared with observational light element
abundances, we obtain allowed regions on the intergenerational mixing. Ratio of
selectron component to stau component, , is allowed in with solving both the Li and Li
problems. Similarly, the ratio for smuon, , is allowed in for mass difference between
slepton and neutralino, which is smaller than muon mass, and for the mass difference in
range between muon mass and 125 MeV. We also discuss collider signatures of the
slepton decays. We find characteristic double peaks in momentum distribution of
event number of the slepton decays with allowed mixing parameters. Discoveries
of the double peaks at future collider experiments should confirm our scenario.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figure

Illumination-Based Synchronization of High-Speed Vision Sensors
To acquire images of dynamic scenes from multiple points of view simultaneously, the acquisition time of vision sensors should be synchronized. This paper describes an illumination-based synchronization method derived from the phase-locked loop (PLL) algorithm. Incident light to a vision sensor from an intensity-modulated illumination source serves as the reference signal for synchronization. Analog and digital computation within the vision sensor forms a PLL to regulate the output signal, which corresponds to the vision frame timing, to be synchronized with the reference. Simulated and experimental results show that a 1,000 Hz frame rate vision sensor was successfully synchronized with 32 μs jitters
交通外傷における救急隊の現場滞在時間に関連する要因とその地域差についての検討
Background: The outcome of road traffic injury (RTI) is determined by duration of prehospital time, patient’s demographics,
and the type of injury and its mechanism. During the emergency medical service (EMS) prehospital time
interval, on-scene time should be minimized for early treatment. This study aimed to examine the factors influencing
on-scene EMS time among RTI patients.
Methods: We evaluated 19,141 cases of traffic trauma recorded between April 2014 and March 2020 in the EMS
database of the Nara Wide Area Fire Department and the prehospital database of the emergency Medical Alliance
for Total Coordination of Healthcare (e-MATCH). To examine the association of the number of EMS phone calls until
hospital acceptance, age ≥65 years, high-risk injury, vital signs, holiday, and nighttime (0:00–8:00) with on-scene time,
a generalized linear mixed model with random effects for four study regions was conducted.
Results: EMS phone calls were the biggest factor, accounting for 5.69 minutes per call, and high-risk injury
accounted for an additional 2.78 minutes. Holiday, nighttime, and age ≥65 years were also associated with increased
on-scene time, but there were no significant vital sign variables for on-scene time, except for the level of consciousness.
Regional differences were also noted based on random effects, with a maximum difference of 2 minutes among
regions.
Conclusions: The number of EMS phone calls until hospital acceptance was the most significant influencing factor
in reducing on-scene time, and high-risk injury accounted for up to an additional 2.78 minutes. Considering these factors,
including regional differences, can help improve the regional EMS policies and outcomes of RTI patients.博士(医学)・甲第880号・令和5年3月15
Involvement of Oxidative Stress in Increases in the Serum Levels of Various Enzymes and Components in Rats with Water-Immersion Restraint Stress
The plasma or serum levels of various enzymes and components are known to increase in rats with water-immersion restraint stress (WIRS). We examined whether oxidative stress is involved in increases in the serum levels of various enzymes and components in rats with WIRS. Rats were exposed to WIRS for 6 h after oral administration of vitamin E (VE) (50 or 250 mg/kg). Rats with WIRS had increased serum alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotranseferase, lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase, urea nitrogen, creatinine, glucose, corticosterone, adrenocorticotropic hormone and lipid peroxide (LPO) levels, increased kidney and heart VE levels, decreased skeletal muscle VE level, and increased LPO levels in all tissues studied. Pre-administered VE (50 or 250 mg/kg) attenuated the increased serum alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotranseferase, lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase, urea nitrogen, creatinine, and LPO levels, the decreased skeletal muscle VE level, and the increased LPO levels in all tissues studied more effectively at its higher dose than at its lower dose. However, either dose of the pre-administered VE did not affect the increased serum glucose, corticosterone, and adrenocorticotropic hormone levels. These results suggest that oxidative stress is involved in increases in the serum levels of various enzymes and components in rats with WIRS
Research on information propagation analyzing odds in horse racing
We focus on the odds in horse racing to study the information propagation to get an idea for fluctuation on information propagation. Analyzing past data of horse racing, and constructing a mathematical model of winning probability, we find a correlation between odds and results of races. As a first step, we focus on two ways of betting called „WIN” and „EXACTA.” We confirm that the winning probability derived from odds of each horse is mostly in accord with actual data. Then, comparing the result with a stochastic model of winning probability constructed with EXACTA odds, we find out fluctuations between them. Finally, we consider where is the origin of the fluctuations
Jedinstveni obrazac djelovanja bisfenola A na ekspresiju gena čimbenika rasta živca embrionske mišje stanične linije N-44 dobivene iz hipotalamusa
We investigated the toxicity of bisphenol A (BPA) by determining the gene expression of nerve growth factor (Ngf) in the embryonic mouse cell line mHypoE-N44 derived from the hypothalamus exposed to BPA dose range between 0.02 and 200 μmol L-1 for 3 h. Ngf mRNA levels decreased in a dose-dependent manner, with significant reductions observed in the 2 to 50 μmol L-1 BPA treatment groups compared to controls. However, at 100 to 200 μmol L-1 the Ngf mRNA gradually increased and was significantly higher than control, while the expression of the apoptosis-related genes Caspase 3 and transformation-related protein 73 decreased significantly. These results suggest that in an embryonic hypothalamic cell line the higher doses of BPA induce a unique pattern of Ngf gene expression and that BPA has the potential to suppress apoptosis essential for early-stage brain development.U istraživanju toksičnosti bisfenola A (BPA) utvrđena je ekspresija gena čimbenika rasta živca (eng. nerve growth factor - NGF) embrionske mišje stanične linije mHypoE-N44 dobivene iz hipotalamusa nakon trosatnog izlaganja BPA-u u rasponu doza od 0,02 do 200 μmol L-1.
A Signal Normalization Technique for Illumination-Based Synchronization of 1,000-fps Real-Time Vision Sensors in Dynamic Scenes
To acquire images of dynamic scenes from multiple points of view simultaneously, the acquisition time of vision sensors should be synchronized. In this paper, an illumination-based synchronization derived from the phase-locked loop (PLL) mechanism based on the signal normalization method is proposed and evaluated. To eliminate the system dependency due to the amplitude fluctuation of the reference illumination, which may be caused by the moving objects or relative positional distance change between the light source and the observed objects, the fluctuant amplitude of the reference signal is normalized framely by the estimated maximum amplitude between the reference signal and its quadrature counterpart to generate a stable synchronization in highly dynamic scenes. Both simulated results and real world experimental results demonstrated successful synchronization result that 1,000-Hz frame rate vision sensors can be successfully synchronized to a LED illumination or its reflected light with satisfactory stability and only 28-μs jitters
