The present study aimed to explore the association between physical fitness (PF) and cognitive performance in a sample of 19-24 year old males. Two hundred and eleven young males (20.2 +/- 1.5 years) participated in the study. Cognitive functioning tasks including information processing speed and inhibitory control were measured in addition to PF and motor fitness components such as aerobic fitness, static strength, explosive strength, agility and speed. Regression analysis showed that after adjustment for potential confounders (e.g. age, socioeconomic status, adiposity and physical activity), aerobic fitness (represented by shorter time in the one-mile run) was positively associated with composite inhibitory control scores (standardized beta = 0.17; p = 0.04) and negatively associated with Delta Simon (standardized beta = -0.21; p = 0.04). Explosive strength was negatively associated with composite information processing scores (standardized beta = -0.24; P = 0.01), and composite inhibitory control scores (standardized beta = -0.22; p = 0.02). Speed of movement, agility and static strength were not associated with any of the cognitive tests. In conclusion, aerobic fitness and explosive strength but not speed, agility or static strength might be indicators of underlying cognitive functioning tasks in 19-24 year old males

Abstract Medicinal plants are considered as natural sources of antioxidant compounds which may protect organisms against oxidative stresses. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of Cinnamon and Melissa officinalis L. (Lemon balm) on the improvement of oxidative stress in glass production workers. This clinical study was conducted on 32 glass production workers. They were asked to use 0.5 g of tea-Cinnamon and 3 g of Lemon balm as infusion for 30 days in the morning and evening each day. At the beginning and the end of the study, blood samples were taken from individuals to determine the level of fasting blood suger (FBS), aspartate transaminase (AST), alanintransferase (ALT), triglyceride (TG), cholesterol (CL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein(HDL) levels, lipid peroxidation (LPO), total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and sillies were measured in workers' blood. At the end of experiment, data were subjected to the paired t-test analysis. Clinical examination was accomplished to record any abnormal signs or symptoms. After treatment, the high-density lipoprotein and TAC of serum significantly increased while the AST and LPO decreased. There were positive correlations between work history and initiative energy disorder of cognitive test. Probably tea-Cinnamon and Lemon balm possesses marked an-* Corresponding author. M. Background: Coronavirus has become a global concern in 2019-20. The virus belongs to the coronavirus family, which has been able to infect many patients and victims around the world. The virus originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which eventually spread around the world and became a pandemic. Materials and Methods: A total of 60 Patients with severe (n=30) and mild (n=30) symptoms of COIVD-19 were included in this study. Peripheral blood samples were collected from the patients. Real-time PCR was used to compare the relative expression levels of Procalcitonin and dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) in a patient with severe and mild Covid-19 infection. Results: Procalcitonin and dipeptidyl peptidase IV markers in the peripheral blood of patients with severe symptoms, were positive in 29 (96.60%) and 26 (86.60%), respectively (n=30); however, positive rates in the mild symptoms patients group were 27 (90%) and 25 (83.30%), respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between these two groups in terms of DDPIV and Procalcitonin (p<0.001). Conclusion: Procalcitonin and DPPIV increase in patients with COVID-19 infection, significantly higher in the patients with more severe clinical symptoms than those with milder ones. More studies will be needed to verify the reliability of the current findings. Keywords: Procalcitonin, DPPIV, Severe symptoms, Mild symptoms, COVID-1

Introductoin: This research has done with the purpose of analyzing the role of mother’s personality type, especially D type in the prediction of teen’s positive and negative attitude toward delinquency. Method: A sample of 100 people with their teenage children was selected with cluster sampling for this descriptive – correlation research from the mothers in Hamedan. Mothers completed Friedman and Rosenman, A and B personality type, Rahe and Soloman C personality type and Denollets type D personality scale questionnaire and their sons received questionnaire about their attitude toward delinquency. Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis were used for analyzing the data. Results: The results showed that there is a positive relation between mothers D personality type and the positive attitude of teens toward delinquency and negative relation between it and negative attitude of teens toward delinquency and no relation has been found between A,B & C personality type and positive or negative attitude toward delinquency. The results of the regression analyses indicated that D personality type determine 47% (ß=0.47) of positive attitude toward delinquency variance and 23% (ß=-0.23) of negative attitude toward delinquency variance. Discussion and conclusion: These results showed that sons of those mothers who have D personality type are more vulnerable against delinquency. Therefore, by informing the parents and setting the related actions for adjusting mother’s D personality we can prevent and control teen’s delinquency

AbstractObjectiveMirror therapy using visual feedback is one of the non-invasive methods along with other commonly used rehabilitation treatments for neurological patients whose therapeutic effects on the affected upper limb of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy (CP) have also been studied. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of mirror therapy on improving the dexterity and grasp of children with hemiplegic CP.Materials and MethodsIn this single blind clinical trial, 30 children with hemiplegic CP in rehabilitation centers and special exceptional schools in Tabriz, Iran were randomly divided into two equal intervention (n=15) and control groups (n=15) in 2017. The children of the intervention group were under the mirror therapy for 6 weeks. Occupational therapy exercises were done routinely for both groups. The grasp with dynamometer and dexterity with box and block was measured. Data were analyzed by t-test and paired t-test.ResultsThe results showed that the mean scores of the two groups in dexterity were significantly different after the intervention (P=0.008). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in grasp (P>0.05).Discussion and ConclusionMirror therapy in hemiplegic children is useful in improving the dexterity but not in improving of the gras

Introduction: Road traffic accidents are among the most critical public health issues. Many people die on the roads each day and tens of millions sustain nonfatal injuries. The aim of this study is to describe the high-risk behaviors of motorcyclists in which police had to confiscate their motorcycles. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out on 240 motorcyclists in Iran from December 2010 to February 2011. A researcher-created questionnaire was used to collect data on self-reported high-risk behaviors, including passing the crossroads without considering the traffic light, refusing to wear a helmet, performing stunts in the street, and driving in the opposite direction. The collected data was descriptively analyzed. Results: The mean age of motorcyclists was 29.3 years (SD=8.26). Twenty-six percent (n=62) of the participants did not have a motorcycle driver’s license. The analysis of risk behaviors showed that 60.8% (n=146) of the motorcycle drivers usually passed crossroads without considering the traffic light and 20.8% (n=50) performed stunts in the street. Conclusions: This study indicates that the prevalence of high-risk behaviors among motorcyclists is significant. Health education interventions may inhibit these behaviors, thus reducing the risk of injuries
