Coherent transport through graphene nanoribbons in the presence of edge disorder
We simulate electron transport through graphene nanoribbons of experimentally
realizable size (length L up to 2 micrometer, width W approximately 40 nm) in
the presence of scattering at rough edges. Our numerical approach is based on a
modular recursive Green's function technique that features sub-linear scaling
with L of the computational effort. We identify the influence of the broken A-B
sublattice (or chiral) symmetry and of K-K' scattering by Fourier spectroscopy
of individual scattering states. For long ribbons we find Anderson-localized
scattering states with a well-defined exponential decay over 10 orders of
magnitude in amplitude.Comment: 8 pages, 6 Figure

Model to Predict Duty of Community Nurses in Promotive and Preventive Care
Community nurses had important role in promotive and preventive care in community. Aim of the study was to make model to predict community nurses role in promotive and preventive care based on Health Promotion Model (HPM). Design of the study was used explanatory with cross sectional approach. Sum of participant was 161. This study was conducted in 11 Public Health Center in Banyuwangi at 1 January to 30 January 2018. Methods of data collection was cluster sampling. The data was analysed using smartPLS software.. Inner model: personal factors (t=1.981), interpersonal influences (t=4.036), situational influences (5.720), commitment (t=5.138) had affected to community nurses duty in promotive and preventive care. This model could predict community nurses duty in promotive and preventive care in high level (Q=0.998). That was important to enhance of community nurses duty through modifying commitment of nurses, interpersonal influence factors, personal factors and situational influence factors
The Correlation of Organizational Role Stressors with Stress Level of Icu Nurses
Introduction : Work stress which is often experienced by ICU nurses may affects nurse's performance, nurse's health and wealth so that the factors which may affect work stress such as organizational role stressors must be noticed. This study was aimed to explain the correlation between organizational role stressors and work stress level in ICU Nurses. Method : This study used cross-sectional design involved 13 respondents, taken by purposive sampling. The independent variable was organizational role stressors and the dependent variable was work stress. Data were collected by using questionnaires and analyzed using Spearman's rho with level of significance α ≤ 0.05. Result : Results showed that there was no significant correlation between organizational role stressors and work stress level in ICU nurses with significance value p ≤ 0.139. Analysis : It can be concluded that the organizational role stressors had no correlation with work stress level because there are so many factors that may affect work stress in ICU nurses. Discussion : Role overload however was experienced by ICU nurses as a mild stressors. This indicates the importance of increasing nurse's quality and quantity by training and recruiting new nursing staffs
Multi-Channel Transport in Disordered Medium under Generic Scattering Conditions
Our study of the evolution of transmission eigenvalues, due to changes in
various physical parameters in a disordered region of arbitrary dimensions,
results in a generalization of the celebrated DMPK equation. The evolution is
shown to be governed by a single complexity parameter which implies a deep
level of universality of transport phenomena through a wide range of disordered
regions. We also find that the interaction among eigenvalues is of many body
type that has important consequences for the statistical behavior of transport
properties.Comment: 19 Pages, No Figure
In vivo retroviral-mediated transfer of a marker-gene in ornithine transcarbamylase-deficient Spf(ash) mice.
Gene therapy is a new therapeutic approach for inherited metabolic hepatopathies. The authors studied the potential application of such a strategy to the correction of ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) deficiency by in vivo protocol of retroviral-mediated gene transfer to the liver. A partial hepatectomy was followed (24 to 48 hours later) by asanguinous perfusion of the regenerating liver with beta-galactosidase (beta-gal) recombinant retrovirus. This protocol allowed beta-gal gene transfer in normal C57B6 mice liver with 60 +/- 52 positive cells per square centimeter. This proportion never exceeded 20 cells per square centimeter in OTC-deficient spf(ash) mice. The high mortality rate for spf(ash) mice was explained by an important sensitivity of those mice to the protein catabolism rather than by technical difficulties during intraportal perfusion. This first in vivo retroviral-mediated gene transfer study in animals with a life-threatening metabolic inherited hepatopathy showed that, despite efficiency of gene therapy in normal animal models, several experimental difficulties should be overcome before human application of this protocol is considered
Growth of Green Deli Water Apple (Syzygium Samarangense (Blume) Merr. & Perry) on Difference Plant Materials and IBA Concentrations
The objectives of this research was to study the growth of green deli water apple (Syzygium samarangense (Blume) Merr. & Perry on difference plant materials and IBA concentrations. This research was conducted at experimental field of Agriculture Faculty, University of North Sumatera, Medan on August until October 2015, using randomized block design with two factors, i.e cutting plant materials (branches with shoot and branches without shoot) and IBA concentration (0; 50; 100; and 150 ppm) with 3 replications. The result showed that the growth of green deli water apple with branches without shoot better than branches with shoot, the application of 100 ppm IBA concentration has given better effect than the other treatments for growth of green deli water apple and the best combination for growth of green deli water apple was branches without shoot and 100 ppm IBA concentration
Direct conversion of rheological compliance measurements into storage and loss moduli
We remove the need for Laplace/inverse-Laplace transformations of
experimental data, by presenting a direct and straightforward mathematical
procedure for obtaining frequency-dependent storage and loss moduli
( and respectively), from time-dependent experimental
measurements. The procedure is applicable to ordinary rheological creep
(stress-step) measurements, as well as all microrheological techniques, whether
they access a Brownian mean-square displacement, or a forced compliance. Data
can be substituted directly into our simple formula, thus eliminating
traditional fitting and smoothing procedures that disguise relevant
experimental noise.Comment: 4 page
Mount St. Helens aerosol evolution
Stratospheric aerosol samples were collected using a wire impactor during the year following the eruption of Mount St. Helens. Analysis of samples shows that aerosol volume increased for 6 months due to gas-to-particle conversion and then decreased to background levels in the following 6 months
Anisotropic charge transport in non-polar GaN QW: polarization induced charge and interface roughness scattering
Charge transport in GaN quantum well (QW) devices grown in non-polar
direction has been theoretically investigated . Emergence of anisotropic line
charge scattering mechanism originating as a result of anisotropic rough
surface morphology in conjunction with in-plane built-in polarization has been
proposed. It has shown that in-plane growth anisotropy leads to large
anisotropic carrier transport at low temperatures. At high temperatures, this
anisotropy in charge transport is partially washed out by strong isotropic
optical phonon scattering in GaN QW.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
