Analysis of the Dynamics of Offshore Procedures
Today offshore operations play a crucial role in building the economy of the country. During the lifetime of the offshore operations the offshore schemes, the geography of the jurisdictions themselves and legislation have changed. The relevance of this article is that it discusses both the positive and negative sides of offshore. Keywords: Offshore, offshore jurisdictions, capital investment, tax resident
Orientations of the lamellar phase of block copolymer melts under oscillatory shear flow
We develop a theory to describe the reorientation phenomena in the lamellar
phase of block copolymer melt under reciprocating shear flow. We show that
similar to the steady-shear, the oscillating flow anisotropically suppresses
fluctuations and gives rise to the parallel-perpendicular orientation
transition. The experimentally observed high-frequency reverse transition is
explained in terms of interaction between the melt and the shear-cell walls.Comment: RevTex, 3 pages, 1 figure, submitted to PR

Polar Frontal Zone of the Barents Sea Western Trough Based on the Direct Measurements in 2007
The results of measurements carried out in summer, 2007 in the north-western part of the Barents Sea are discussed. The ship weather station and the vessel mounted Acoustic Doppler current profiler VMADCP150 are used to carry out measurements in the vessel motion. CTD/LADCP-sensing is performed at the drift stations. The minimum horizontal scale of a temperature front is 0.5 km, whereas the maximum horizontal gradient of water temperature is 4 °C/km. The width of the North Cape Current Northern branch is ~8 km that is three times larger than the Rossby radius of deformation. Position of the temperature front coincides with that of the jet stream core. The characteristics of small-scale vertical structure of water dynamics and density stratification in the polar frontal zone are discussed. The averaged annual variability of temperature and salinity vertical structure in the area of the Spitsbergen Bank and the Hopen Deep are represented. The intra-annual variability of water salinity in the Hopen Deep calculated based on the historical database of hydrological data, revealed the presence of variations with a period of four months. Based on satellite observations, position of the temperature front in the area of research is defined

Weak-coupling superconductivity in a strongly correlated iron pnictide
Iron-based superconductors have been found to exhibit an intimate interplay of orbital, spin, and lattice degrees of freedom, dramatically affecting their low-energy electronic properties, including superconductivity. Albeit the precise pairing mechanism remains unidentified, several candidate interactions have been suggested to mediate the superconducting pairing, both in the orbital and in the spin channel. Here, we employ optical spectroscopy (OS), angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), ab initio band-structure, and Eliashberg calculations to show that nearly optimally doped NaFe0.978Co0.022As exhibits some of the strongest orbitally selective electronic correlations in the family of iron pnictides. Unexpectedly, we find that the mass enhancement of itinerant charge carriers in the strongly correlated band is dramatically reduced near the Γ point and attribute this effect to orbital mixing induced by pronounced spin-orbit coupling. Embracing the true band structure allows us to describe all low-energy electronic properties obtained in our experiments with remarkable consistency and demonstrate that superconductivity in this material is rather weak and mediated by spin fluctuations

Influence of confinement on the orientational phase transitions in the lamellar phase of a block copolymer melt under shear flow
In this work we incorporate some real-system effects into the theory of
orientational phase transitions under shear flow (M. E. Cates and S. T. Milner,
Phys. Rev. Lett. v.62, p.1856 (1989) and G. H. Fredrickson, J. Rheol. v.38,
p.1045 (1994)). In particular, we study the influence of the shear-cell
boundaries on the orientation of the lamellar phase. We predict that at low
shear rates the parallel orientation appears to be stable. We show that there
is a critical value of the shear rate at which the parallel orientation loses
its stability and the perpendicular one appears immediately below the spinodal.
We associate this transition with a crossover from the fluctuation to the
mean-field behaviour. At lower temperatures the stability of the parallel
orientation is restored. We find that the region of stability of the
perpendicular orientation rapidly decreases as shear rate increases. This
behaviour might be misinterpreted as an additional perpendicular to parallel
transition recently discussed in literature.Comment: 25 pages, 4 figures, submitted to Phys. Rev.
Development of a Momentum Determined Electron Beam in the 1 -45 GeV Range
A beam line for electrons with energies in the range of 1 to 45 GeV, low
contamination of hadrons and muons and high intensity up to 10^6 per
accelerator spill at 27 GeV was setup at U70 accelerator in Protvino, Russia. A
beam tagging system based on drift chambers with 160 micron resolution was able
to measure relative electron beam momentum precisely. The resolution sigma_p p
was 0.13% at 45 GeV where multiple scattering is negligible. This test beam
setup provided the possibility to study properties of lead tungstate crystals
(PbWO_4) for the BTeV experiment at Fermilab.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures; work done by the BTeV Electromagnetic

Performance of a fine-sampling electromagnetic calorimeter prototype in the energy range from 1 to 19 GeV
The fine-sampling electromagnetic calorimeter prototype has been
experimentally tested using the 1-19 GeV/c tagged beams of negatively charged
particles at the U70 accelerator at IHEP, Protvino. The energy resolution
measured by electrons is Delta{E}/E=2.8%/\sqrt{E} + 1.3%. The position
resolution for electrons is Delta{x}=3.1 + 15.4/sqrt{E} mm in the center of the
cell. The lateral non-uniformity of the prototype energy response to electrons
and MIPs has turned out to be negligible. Obtained experimental results are in
a good agreement with Monte-Carlo simulations.Comment: Article is prepared for pdflatex using the class elsart. 13 pages, 9

Correlation of Beam Electron and LED Signal Losses under Irradiation and Long-term Recovery of Lead Tungstate Crystals
Radiation damage in lead tungstate crystals reduces their transparency. The
calibration that relates the amount of light detected in such crystals to
incident energy of photons or electrons is of paramount importance to
maintaining the energy resolution the detection system. We report on tests of
lead tungstate crystals, read out by photomultiplier tubes, exposed to
irradiation by monoenergetic electron or pion beams. The beam electrons
themselves were used to measure the scintillation light output, and a blue
light emitting diode (LED) was used to track variations of crystals
transparency. We report on the correlation of the LED measurement with
radiation damage by the beams and also show that it can accurately monitor the
crystals recovery from such damage.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures, LaTeX2
