    Get PDF
If the workers continuously perform the activities throughout the working hours, they may experience prolonged standing which creates fatigue and causes an occupational hazard which includes slips and falls. The goal of this study was to identify awkward postures during food production activities. 40 workers with minimum of 1 year experience working in food production were involved. The comfort level was measured using Rapid Upper Limb Assessment and Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application software analysis, expressed in scoring level. Critical activities grilling meat, frying, dish cloth and wash utensil at food production contributed to high RULA score of 7. The specific working postures have to be identified among food production workers. This study can provide a preliminary data to determine the correct working postures for food production workers. Keywords: working position; food production; awkward posture; RULA score, fatigue and standin

AbstractThe gap between the Egyptian and international records increased in 400 m hurdles race where the Egyptian record is 49.74 sec and the world record is 47.50 sec which reflects the malfunction of the training process. This pushed the researchers to perform this study to state the reasons beyond the failure of Egyptian national team players to promote and develop their levels to cope with the international levels. Pilot studies stated that fatigue is the main reason for the weak records due to performing the hurdle skipping skill repeatedly and it appears clearly before the end of the race. Fatigue helps in decreasing the efficiency of the physical and functional abilities which affects the whole performance negatively; this is why the researchers found that it is necessary to develop the explosive power and the specific endurance to help in delaying fatigue according to previous researches that tried to investigate the same problem in other races as researchers proved that the deficiency in speed and explosive power are the most important negative factors that affects the records of speed races. The experimental method was applied on 2 groups (n=16) each consisted of 8 athletes where the recommended training program was applied on the experimental group and the normal training routine was applied on the control group after taking the pre-measurements. The kinematical variables that were measured: pivoting time and distanceā€“horizontal and vertical velocityā€“length of skipping stepā€“time of raceā€“total number of race stepsā€“time for each 100 m in the race. The functional variables were: V O2maxā€“blood pressureā€“resting and performance pulseā€“blood pressureā€“O2 pulseā€“lactic acid rates in blood. After applying the training program, post-measurements were taken under same conditions of the pre-measurements then proper statistical processing methods were used to analyze research variables. The most important results showed that developing the explosive power and speed endurance had a positive effect on developing the numerical records due to promoting the kinematical and physiological characteristics of the research sample with a percentage of 38% for kinematical variables and 24% for physiological variables. This is why the researchers recommended that applying similar programs on 400 m hurdles runners is necessary to develop their kinematical and functional abilities. Also further studies should be performed to help in developing numerical records for other races

Cancer is a complex devastating disease with enormous treatment challenges, including chemo- and radiotherapeutic resistance. Combination therapy demonstrated a promising strategy to target hard-to-treat cancers and sensitize cancer cells to conventional anti-cancer drugs such as doxorubicin. This study aimed to establish molecular profiling and therapeutic efficacy assessment of chloroquine and/or tioconazole (TIC) combination with doxorubicin (DOX) as anew combination model in MCF-7 breast cancer. The drugs are tested against apoptotic/autophagic pathways and related redox status. Molecular docking revealed that chloroquine (CQ) and TIC could be potential PI3K and ATG4B pathway inhibitors. Combination therapy significantly inhibited cancer cell viability, PI3K/AkT/mTOR pathway, and tumor-supporting autophagic flux, however, induced apoptotic pathways and altered nuclear genotoxic feature. Our data revealed that the combination cocktail therapy markedly inhibited tumor proliferation marker (KI-67) and cell growth, along with the accumulation of autophagosomes and elevation of LC3-II and p62 levels indicated autophagic flux blockage and increased apoptosis. Additionally, CQ and/or TIC combination therapy with DOX exerts its activity on the redox balance of cancer cells mediated ROS-dependent apoptosis induction achieved by GPX3 suppression. Besides, Autophagy inhibition causes moderately upregulation in ATGs 5,7 redundant proteins strengthened combinations induced apoptosis, whereas inhibition of PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway with Beclin-1 upregulation leading to cytodestructive autophagy with overcome drug resistance effectively in curing cancer. Notably, the tumor growth inhibition and various antioxidant effects were observed in vivo. These results suggest CQ and/or TIC combination with DOX could act as effective cocktail therapy targeting autophagy and PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathways in MCF-7 breast cancer cells and hence, sensitizes cancer cells to doxorubicin treatment and combat its toxicity

This study was planned to prospectively evaluate the influence of platelets rich plasma (PRP) on the restoration of superficial digital flexor tendon (SDFT) in donkeys. Eighteen apparently clinically healthy male donkeys of 3-6 years old, weighing 150-200 kg, were used. The animals were classified into two equal groups; control group and PRP group. One cm transection of the full thickness of middle portion of the SDFT was made in all animals. First, all animals were subjected to sedation via xylazine HCl injection in a dose of 1 mg/kg body weight then the animals were deeply narcotized with chloral hydrate 10% in a dose of 5 gm/50 kg body weight. A linear skin incision in the palmar aspect of the right fore limb at the mid cannon region was performed in all operated animals. The animals in PRP group were subjected to intratendinous injections of 4 mL PRP with weekly interval (day 0, w1, w2, w3) under the guidance of ultrasonography. Representative tendon specimens from all animals were collected 30, 60, and 90 days post operation (PO) for histopathological examination. The obtained clinical and histopathological results reveled that PRP application improved the healing of SDFT compared to the control group, through increasing and acceleration of angiogenesis, fibrogenesis, collagen deposition and remodeling in the injured tendon matrices

AbstractAlumina-supported metal nanocatalysts were prepared via the microwave method, by loading nano Ni particles (at 1, 3 and 5wt%) or nano Pt particles (at 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9wt%). Structural and adsorption features of the nano catalysts were revealed through XRD, DSC-DTA, TEM, H2-chemisorption and N2-physisorption. N2-adsorptionā€“desorption isotherms of type IV were related typically to mesoporous materials with H2 class of hysteresis loops characterizing ink bottle type of pores. The well dispersed nano-sized metal particles were evidenced in the studied catalytic systems, exhibiting marked thermal stability up to 800Ā°C. The catalytic performances of different catalyst samples were assessed during cyclohexane, normal hexane and ethanol conversions, using the micro-catalytic pulse technique at different operating conditions. The 5% Niā€“Ī³ā€“Al2O3 sample was found to be the most active in dehydration of ethanol to produce ethylene, as well as in n-hexane cracking. However, the 1% Niā€“Al2O3 sample showed the highest dehydrogenation activity for selective production of benzene from cyclohexane. On the other hand, the 0.9% Ptā€“Ī³ā€“Al2O3 sample exhibited the highest activity in the dehydration of ethanol and in the dehydrogenation of cyclohexane. The 0.3% Ptā€“Ī³ā€“Al2O3 sample was the most active in the dehydrocyclization of normal hexane, as compared to the other catalyst samples under study

AbstractIn the present study, multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were prepared in good quality and quantity, MWCNT were produced using the catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CCVD) technique and the carbon source was acetylene. Different catalysts were synthesized based on iron and a mixture of iron and cobalt metal supported on SiO2, Al2O3 or MgO. The effect of parameters such as iron concentration, support type, bimetallic catalyst and the method of catalyst preparation has been investigated in the production of MWCNT. The quality of as-made nanotubes was investigated by the high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The best yield of MWCNT was 30 times of the amount of the used catalyst. The high yield of MWCNT was gained by 40wt.% Fe on alumina support which was prepared by the solā€“gel method. TEM analysis was done for the carbon deposit, which revealed that the walls of the MWCNT were graphitized, with regular inner channel and uniform diameter. It reflected a reasonable degree of purity. The TGA showed that MWCNT was decomposed at 635Ā°C by a small rate indicating a high thermal stability and well crystalline formation of the produced MWCNT
