Saharawi women, gender colonialism and nationalisms: A decolonial feminism-based approach

Todo ello con el objetivo de ahondar en la posible historia feminista decolonial de las mujeres saharauisThis paper examines the different experiences of Saharawi women throughout the revolutionary period of the mid 70s from the perspective of decolonial feminisms. For this purpose, concepts such as ‘gender coloniality’ will serve as a starting point for the discussion, together with reflections on gender and nationalisms carried out by indigenous feminisms. Specifically, I will first discuss the role of the Women Section of the Falange as the chief institution in the generation of gender coloniality; secondly, the gender dimensions in nationalist discourses of the time will be looked at; thirdly, the massive participation of women in the Saharawi Liberation Movement will be unpacked. My aim is ultimately to help build a possible decolonial feminist history of Saharawi wome

Use of tire derived aggregate in tunnel cut-and-cover

A case-history is reported in which tire derived aggregate (TDA) was successfully applied to reduce the weight of fill upon a cut-and-cover railway tunnel. Subsequent 3D numerical analyses are used to explore the effect of different assumptions about the constitutive model of the TDA material. Alternative dispositions of TDA around the tunnel section are also examined. Reductions of up to 60% in lining bending moment may be achieved. For the case analyzed the elastic description of the TDA has little influence on tunnel lining loads, although is important for fill settlement estimates.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Analysis of the role of innovation and efficiency in coastal destinations affected by tourism seasonality

This research analyses the relationship between efficiency, innovation and seasonality of the Spanish coasts for a five-year period (2015−2019). First of all, the nexus between the level of efficiency and changes in productivity, driven by improvements in innovation and/or efficiency, is determined using Data Envelopment Analysis and the Malmquist Index. Second, this paper proposes a synthetic index to measure seasonality and assess its connection with efficiency and innovation, using a cross efficiency approach to do so. Results show how the intensity of seasonality influences efficiency. In addition, it is observed that innovation can offset possible decreases in efficiency; as such, policies that promote both aspects are needed in the more seasonal destinations

Overdamped van Hove function of atomic liquids

Using the generalized Langevin equation formalism and the process of contraction of the description we derive a general memory function equation for the thermal fluctuations of the local density of a simple atomic liquid. From the analysis of the long-time limit of this equation, a striking equivalence is suggested between the long-time dynamics of the atomic liquid and the dynamics of the corresponding \emph{Brownian} liquid. This dynamic equivalence is confirmed here by comparing molecular and Brownian dynamics simulations of the self-intermediate scattering function and the long-time self-diffusion coefficient for the hard-sphere liquid.Comment: 4 Figures, 23 page
