    The effect of noise on cargo boats on a long voyage differs considerably from the effect of noise in factories and in service industries. The peculiarities of the effect of round-the-clock noises at sea at 55 to 85 decibels, typical for cargo boats, were studied in white rats in the laboratory and aboard ship (each of the experiments lasted three months) and in young naval cadets and experienced seamen on voyages lasting one, two, and three months. The findings helped to derive health standards for maximum admissible noise level at sea

    Pathogenetic Aspects of the First Trimester Miscarriage

    Purpose: To examine the profile of cytokines and gormones in maternal serum of first-trimester pregnancies complicated by threatened abortion (TACP).Materials and Methods: Serum levels of interleukin-2 and -6, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), activin A, VEGF, sFlt, PGF were measured, by ELISA, in 24 women with TACP and adverse outcome (group IV) and compared with the corresponding levels of 35 women with TACP and successful outcome (group II) and 21 miscarriage (group III) and 26 women with first-trimester uncohreatened abortionmplicated pregnancy (group I) who served as controls. AtteStat 7.3, MedCalc, Microsoft Excel 2003, Statistica 6.0, Spirmen or Wilcoxon test were used for analysis.Results: IL-2 and -6 were detected lower and TNF-alpha and activin A were detected higher with no significant difference in group I, compared to all other groups. Only TNF-alpha in group II were detected lower with significantly levels, compared to I group. sFlt in all groups was detected lower, compared to I group. VEGF and CRH were detected lower in II and III groups and higher in IV group, compared to I group. PGF was detected higher in III group and lower in II and IV groups, compared to I group.Summary: In first-trimester TACP with adverse outcome, allteration of maternal angiogenic factors, activin A, IL and CRH levels, compared to first-trimester uncomplicated pregnancy and TACP wihreatened abortionth successful outcome, is relevant to the occurrence of miscarriages

    Surface-dependent osteoblasts response to TiO2 nanotubes of different crystallinity

    One of the major challenges of implantology is to design nanoscale modifications of titanium implant surfaces inducing osseointegration. The aim of this study was to investigate the behavior of rat osteoblasts cultured on anodized TiO2 nanotubes of different crystallinity (amorphous and anatase phase) up to 24 days. TiO2 nanotubes were fabricated on VT1–0 titanium foil via a two-step anodization at 20 V using NH4F as an electrolyte. Anatase-phase samples were prepared by heat treatment at 500 °C for 1 h. VT1–0 samples with flat surfaces were used as controls. Primary rat osteoblasts were seeded over experimental surfaces for several incubation times. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to analyze tested surfaces and cell morphology. Cell adhesion and proliferation were investigated by cell counting. Osteogenic differentiation of cells was evaluated by qPCR of runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2), osteopontin (OPN), integrin binding sialoprotein (IBSP), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and osteocalcin (OCN). Cell adhesion and proliferation, cell morphology and the expression of osteogenic markers were affected by TiO2 nanotube layered substrates of amorphous and anatase crystallinity. In comparison with flat titanium, along with increased cell adhesion and cell growth a large portion of osteoblasts grown on the both nanostructured surfaces exhibited an osteocyte-like morphology as early as 48 h of culture. Moreover, the expression of all tested osteogenic markers in cells cultured on amorphous and anatase TiO2 nanotubes was upregulated at least at one of the analyzed time points. To summarize, we demonstrated that amorphous and anodized TiO2 layered substrates are highly biocompatible with rat osteoblasts and that the surface modification with about 1500 nm length nanotubes of 35 ± 4 (amorphous phase) and 41 ± 8 nm (anatase phase) in diameter is sufficient to induce their osteogenic differentiation. Such results are significant to the engineering of coating strategies for orthopedic implants aimed to establish a more efficient bone to implant contact and enhance bone repair. © 2020 by the author.     A Complete Redshift Survey to the Zwicky Catalog Limit in a 2-hour by 15-degree Region Around 3C 273

    We compile 1113 redshifts (648 new measurements, 465 from the literature) for Zwicky catalogue galaxies in the region (-3.5deg < \delta < 8.5deg, 11.5h < \alpha < 13.5h). We include redshifts for 114 component objects in 78 Zwicky catalogue multiplets. The redshift survey in this region is 99.5% complete to the Zwicky catalogue limit, m_Zw=15.7. It is 99.9% complete to m_Zw = 15.5, the CfA Redshift Survey (CfA2) magnitude limit. The survey region is adjacent to the northern portion of CfA2, overlaps the northernmost slice of the Las Campanas Redshift Survey, includes the southern extent of the Virgo Cluster, and is roughly centered on the QSO 3C 273.     The Updated Zwicky Catalog (UZC)

    The Zwicky Catalog of galaxies (ZC), with m_Zw<=15.5mag, has been the basis for the Center for Astrophysics (CfA) redshift surveys. To date, analyses of the ZC and redshift surveys based on it have relied on heterogeneous sets of galaxy coordinates and redshifts. Here we correct some of the inadequacies of previous catalogs by providing: (1) coordinates with <~2 arcsec errors for all of the Nuzc catalog galaxies, (2) homogeneously estimated redshifts for the majority (98%) of the data taken at the CfA (14,632 spectra), and (3) an estimate of the remaining "blunder" rate for both the CfA redshifts and for those compiled from the literature. For the reanalyzed CfA data we include a calibrated, uniformly determined error and an indication of the presence of emission lines in each spectrum. We provide redshifts for 7,257 galaxies in the CfA2 redshift survey not previously published; for another 5,625 CfA redshifts we list the remeasured or uniformly re-reduced value. Among our new measurements, Nmul are members of UZC "multiplets" associated with the original Zwicky catalog position in the coordinate range where the catalog is 98% complete. These multiplets provide new candidates for examination of tidal interactions among galaxies. All of the new redshifts correspond to UZC galaxies with properties recorded in the CfA redshift compilation known as ZCAT. About 1,000 of our new measurements were motivated either by inadequate signal-to-noise in the original spectrum or by an ambiguous identification of the galaxy associated with a ZCAT redshift. The redshift catalog we include here is ~96% complete to m_Zw<=15.5, and ~98% complete (12,925 galaxies out of a total of 13,150) for the RA(1950) ranges [20h--4h] and [8h--17h] and DEC(1950) range [-2.5d--50d].     A Multimodal Approach to Analgesia in Anorectal Surgery

    Аim: Evaluation of methods for pain prevention and pain reduction after anorectal surgery at all stages of treatment based on publications found in available databases.Key points. Most anorectal diseases are benign and do not affect life expectancy, meanwhile about 40 % of the population suffer from it. Mainly anorectal disorders affect middle-aged people reducing their life quality. At the same time many articles aimed at studying only postoperative anesthesia. 2 researchers independently searched for articles published in Medline, Scopus, Cochrane, Web of Science, E-library databases using keywords. A total of 54 publications were included. A multimodal approach should include the pain prevention during pre-, intra- and postoperative periods. Acetaminophen is recommended for pain reduction according to the dosing protocols. Acetaminophen combined with other systemic analgesics is advisable for patients with severe pain. The opioids use is justified only for moderate-severe postoperative pain. Metronidazole and lidocaine with nitroglycerin ointment/ nifedipine/сorticosteroids effectiveness has been proven for local postoperative anesthesia. Prophylactic use of antibiotics and bowel preparation do not reduce postoperative pain. Stool softeners are recommended for reducing postoperative pain severity. Additional local anesthesia such as nerve blockade or infiltration anesthesia is recommended for all patients. Modern minimally invasive treatment methods of hemorrhoid are associated with less severe postoperative pain.Conclusion. The recommended scheme of multimodal anesthesia for patients after anorectal surgery is shown on Fig.1. Further studies are needed to evaluate preoperative anesthesia effectiveness, the feasibility of the perioperative flavonoids use, as well as comparisons of various minimally invasive treatment methods of anorectal diseases

    Mediastinal Emphysema as a Specific Complication of COVID-19 (Case Report)

    During the care of patients with novel coronavirus infection at the Lomonosov MSU Medical Research and Education Center from April 21 to June 13, 2020, we observed cases of spontaneous mediastinal emphysema (spontaneous pneumomediastinum) as a manifestation or a probable complication of COVID-19.The aim of the paper. To provide clinical case descriptions and approaches to the management of patients with spontaneous pneumomediastinum in COVID-19 associated pneumonia, as they are not addressed in the current clinical guidelines, and therefore are worthy of special attention.Among 224 patients with laboratory-confirmed diagnosis of the novel coronavirus infection COVID-19, five cases of pneumomediastinum without pneumothorax were identified. Of these, in two cases the pneumomediastinum developed during noninvasive lung ventilation (NLV) (one case) and invasive lung ventilation (one case). In three cases, spontaneous mediastinal emphysema was not associated with lung ventilation. By the time of publication, one case of pneumomediastinum was completed, and four patients remained hospitalized. All five patients were males aged from 52 to 84 years.This paper presents in depth the description of two cases of mediastinal and subcutaneous emphysema in patients with COVID-19

    ANALYSIS OF MORPHOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF DENTAL SYSTEM WITH GNATHIC FORM OF MALOCCLUSION CLASS III USING SIMPLYCEPH SOFTWARE (RUSSIA)

    Mesiocclusion associated with asymmetric mandibular development is a gnathic form of mesiocclusion characterized by asymmetric deformation of the facial skeleton, requiring detailed examination to perform differential diagnostics. We need to analyze lateral teleroentgenogram of the head using «SimplyCeph» software, frontal teleroentgenogram of the head, multidetector computed tomography. According to scientific data, asymmetric mandibular development is much rarer in clinical practice. Etiology of this abnormality is not determined to date. It is believed that growth zones are activated in condyloid process and mandibular angle for unknown reasons. Aim - to determine the morphological condition of stomatognathic system on the stages of rehabilitation after complex treatment of patients with asymmetric growth of mandible. Materials and methods. We examined 40 patients with malocclusion class III aged from 16 to 40. The examined group included patients with malocclusion class III that corresponded to the certain degree of severity of the abnormality: Grade I - joining of the first permanent molars and canines for Class II Angle, displacement value does not exceed 1/2 of the first permanent molar cusp. Sagittal overjet is absent; the value of anterior crossbite is minimal, moderate or deep. Results. During the stages of rehabilitation of patients with malocclusion class III and asymmetry of the mandible it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive study of facial and gnathic areas of dental system, analyze the results of radiodiagnosis of sagittal, transversal and vertical skull parameters. Conclusion. Method of subcondylar vertical osteotomy helps to normalize the morphological state of dental system.
