Statistical Description of Hydrodynamic Processes in Ionic Melts with taking into account Polarization Effects
Statistical description of hydrodynamic processes for ionic melts is proposed
with taking into account polarization effects caused by the deformation of
external ionic shells. This description is carried out by means of the Zubarev
nonequilibrium statistical operator method, appropriate for investigations of
both strong and weak nonequilibrium processes. The nonequilibrium statistical
operator and the generalized hydrodynamic equations that take into account
polarization processes are received for ionic-polarization model of ionic
molten salts when the nonequilibrium averaged values of densities of ions
number, their momentum, dipole momentum and total energy are chosen for the
reduced description parameters. A spectrum of collective excitations is
investigated within the viscoelastic approximation for ion-polarization model

Statistical correlations of an anyon liquid at low temperatures
Using a proposed generalization of the pair distribution function for a gas
of non-interacting particles obeying fractional exclusion statistics in
arbitrary dimensionality, we derive the statistical correlations in the
asymptotic limit of vanishing or low temperature. While Friedel-like
oscillations are present in nearly all non-bosonic cases at T=0, they are
characterized by exponential damping at low temperature. We discuss the
dependence of these features on dimensionality and on the value of the

Practical dispersion relations for strongly coupled plasma fluids
Very simple explicit analytical expressions are discussed, which are able to
describe the dispersion relations of longitudinal waves in strongly coupled
plasma systems such as one-component plasma and weakly screened Yukawa fluids
with a very good accuracy. Applications to other systems with soft pairwise

Hyperglycemia Has a Greater Impact on Left Ventricle Function in South Asians Than in Europeans
OBJECTIVE Diabetes is associated with left ventricular (LV) diastolic and systolic dysfunction. South Asians may be at particular risk of developing LV dysfunction owing to a high prevalence of diabetes. We investigated the role of diabetes and hyperglycemia in LV dysfunction in a community-based cohort of older South Asians and white Europeans. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Conventional and Doppler echocardiography was performed in 999 participants (542 Europeans and 457 South Asians aged 58–86 years) in a population-based study. Anthropometry, fasting bloods, coronary artery calcification scoring, blood pressure, and renal function were measured. RESULTS Diabetes and hyperglycemia across the spectrum of HbA1c had a greater adverse effect on LV function in South Asians than Europeans (N-terminal-probrain natriuretic peptide β ± SE 0.09 ± 0.04, P = 0.01, vs. −0.04 ± 0.05, P = 0.4, P for HbA1c/ethnicity interaction 0.02), diastolic function (E/e′ 0.69 ± 0.12, P < 0.0001, vs. 0.09 ± 0.2, P = 0.6, P for interaction 0.005), and systolic function (s′ −0.11 ± 0.06, P = 0.04, vs. 0.14 ± 0.09, P = 0.1, P for interaction 0.2). Multivariable adjustment for hypertension, microvascular disease, LV mass, coronary disease, and dyslipidemia only partially accounted for the ethnic differences. Adverse LV function in diabetic South Asians could not be accounted for by poorer glycemic control or longer diabetes duration. CONCLUSIONS Diabetes and hyperglycemia have a greater adverse effect on LV function in South Asians than Europeans, incompletely explained by adverse risk factors. South Asians may require earlier and more aggressive treatment of their cardiometabolic risk factors to reduce risks of LV dysfunction
Thomas-Fermi Method For Particles Obeying Generalized Exclusion Statistics
We use the Thomas-Fermi method to examine the thermodynamics of particles
obeying Haldane exclusion statistics. Specifically, we study
Calogero-Sutherland particles placed in a given external potential in one
dimension. For the case of a simple harmonic potential (constant density of
states), we obtain the exact one-particle spatial density and a {\it closed}
form for the equation of state at finite temperature, which are both new
results. We then solve the problem of particles in a potential
(linear density of states) and show that Bose-Einstein condensation does not

On the Static Dielectric Permittivity for Coulomb System in the Long Wavelength Limit
On the basis of the exact relations the general formula for the static
dielectric permittivity for Coulomb system is found in the region of small wave
vectors. The obtained formula describes the dielectric function of the Coulomb
system in both limits: in the "metallic" state and in the "dielectric" one. On
this basis the determinations of the "apparent" dielectric and the "apparent"
radius of screening are introduced. In the random phase approximation (RPA) the
exact relations for the function dielectric function of the electron gas in the
long-wavelength region of the wave vectors are found for an arbitrary

Mean-Field vs Monte-Carlo equation of state for the expansion of a Fermi superfluid in the BCS-BEC crossover
The equation of state (EOS) of a Fermi superfluid is investigated in the
BCS-BEC crossover at zero temperature. We discuss the EOS based on Monte-Carlo
(MC) data and asymptotic expansions and the EOS derived from the extended BCS
(EBCS) mean-field theory. Then we introduce a time-dependent density
functional, based on the bulk EOS and Landau's superfluid hydrodynamics with a
von Weizs\"acker-type correction, to study the free expansion of the Fermi
superfluid. We calculate the aspect ratio and the released energy of the
expanding Fermi cloud showing that MC EOS and EBCS EOS are both compatible with
the available experimental data of Li atoms. We find that the released
energy satisfies an approximate analytical formula that is quite accurate in
the BEC regime. For an anisotropic droplet, our numerical simulations show an
initially faster reversal of anisotropy in the BCS regime, later suppressed by
