Modern Code Reviews: Preliminary Results of an Analysis of the State of the Art with Respect to the Role Played by Human Factors

    Get PDF
Modern Code Reviewing has shown to be an effective mechanism to identify bugs in the code; however, given their intrinsic subjectivity, they can be significantly affected by human factors such as interpersonal relationships. This paper focuses on exploring such issues, with specific attention to social iterations and personal factors. Future work includes experimental evaluations to verify the research hypothesis related to improving the quality of the process under the study

The yearbook brings summary of situation on field of organic farming, production, sale, distribution, consumption, promotion, education and research in the Czech Republic. The total acreage of organically farmed land at 31. 12. 2009 had increased to 398,407 ha, which represents 9,38 % of total agricultural land in CZ. Acreage under conversion had reached 26 % (i.e. 103,964 ha). This means the biggest yearly increase in the whole history of OF development (i.e. an increase of 56,775 ha)

The need for dialogue: a new model of interaction between museums and the public

Based on analysis of sociocultural factors in contemporary society the need is stated to change the paradigm of cultural institutions. A shift from consumer culture to participatory culture suggests active visitor’s position and a dialogue with the public. Author points out the ways to correct education process in a museum and reviews the concept of art-mediation as an innovative method of interaction with the audience.

This article examines an image of a «cultured person» among students. It reviews his characteristics, factors that determine his development, and consider how students appraise and justify themselves as a cultured person.Статья посвящена представлениям студенческой молодежи о «культурном человеке», его характеристиках, факторах формирования, оценке собственного статуса как культурного человека и обоснованию этой самооценки

    Fransiyada ta’lim tizimi

Bilamizki, har bir davlatning o’ziga yarasha sifatli ta’lim tizimi bo’ladi. Ta’limsiz davlat nuragan imoratga o’xshaydi. Ta’lim har sohaning qurilish poydevori hisoblanadi. Mana shunday kuchli ta’lim tizimiga ega bo’lgan davlatlardan biri Fransiyadir. Fransiyada taʼlim juda koʻp boʻlinmalarga ega boʻlgan yuqori markazlashtirilgan tarzda tashkil etilgandir. Fransiya ta’limi uch bosqichga: boshlang’ich, o’rta, oliy ta’limga bo’lingan. Fransiyada bolalarning maktabga kirish yoshi ikki yoshdir. Lekin ikki yoshli bolalar boshlangʻich maktabni boshlashdan avval, maktabgacha taʼlimni boshlaydilar. Oti yoshga to’lgach, Fransiyadagi bolalar boshlangʻich maktabni boshlash huquqiga ega bo’ladilar

Advancing Creative Visual Thinking with Constructive Function-based Modelling.

Modern education technologies are destined to reflect the realities of a modern digital age. The juxtaposition of real and synthetic (computer-generated) worlds as well as a greater emphasis on visual dimension are especially important characteristics that have to be taken into account in learning and teaching. We describe the ways in which an approach to constructive shape modelling can be used to advancing creative visual thinking in artistic and technical education. This approach assumes the use of a simple programming language or interactive software tools for creating a shape model, generating its images, and finally fabricating a real object of that model. It can be considered an educational technology suitable not only for children and students but also for researchers, artists, and designers. The corresponding modelling language and software tools are being developed within an international HyperFun Project. These tools are easy to use by students of different age, specialization and abilities, and can easily be extended and adapted for various educational purposes in different areas

Influence of the interphase between laser-cladded metal layer and steel substrate on fatigue propagation of a short edge crack

    Get PDF
Laser cladding is a relatively new technology how to combine properties of various materials. Thus, bi-material interfaces are presented in real structures and can affect the fatigue crack propagation. A cracked bar subjected to pure tensile loading is numerically simulated in this work in order to analyze the effect of the interphase layer between the cladded metal layer and the steel substrate on crack growth in the surface layer. Particularly, the influence of various Young’s modulus of the interphase on the stable/unstable edge crack propagation is assessed. Moreover, the number of cycles necessary for achievement of the defined critical crack length is calculated and it is summarized that knowledge of elastic properties of the thin interphase is crucial for fracture and fatigue analyses
