Flavor and CP Violation with Fourth Generations Revisited

Symbol-Level Selective Full-Duplex Relaying with Power and Location Optimization
In this paper, a symbol-level selective transmission for full-duplex (FD)
relaying networks is proposed to mitigate error propagation effects and improve
system spectral efficiency. The idea is to allow the FD relay node to predict
the correctly decoded symbols of each frame, based on the generalized square
deviation method, and discard the erroneously decoded symbols, resulting in
fewer errors being forwarded to the destination node. Using the capability for
simultaneous transmission and reception at the FD relay node, our proposed
strategy can improve the transmission efficiency without extra cost of
signalling overhead. In addition, targeting on the derived expression for
outage probability, we compare it with half-duplex (HD) relaying case, and
provide the transmission power and relay location optimization strategy to
further enhance system performance. The results show that our proposed scheme
outperforms the classic relaying protocols, such as cyclic redundancy check
based selective decode-and-forward (S-DF) relaying and threshold based S-DF
relaying in terms of outage probability and bit-error-rate. Moreover, the
performances with optimal power allocation is better than that with equal power
allocation, especially when the FD relay node encounters strong
self-interference and/or it is close to the destination node.Comment: 34 pages (single-column), 14 figures, 2 tables, accepted pape
Multi-Antenna Assisted Virtual Full-Duplex Relaying with Reliability-Aware Iterative Decoding
In this paper, a multi-antenna assisted virtual full-duplex (FD) relaying
with reliability-aware iterative decoding at destination node is proposed to
improve system spectral efficiency and reliability. This scheme enables two
half-duplex relay nodes, mimicked as FD relaying, to alternatively serve as
transmitter and receiver to relay their decoded data signals regardless the
decoding errors, meanwhile, cancel the inter-relay interference with
QR-decomposition. Then, by deploying the reliability-aware iterative
detection/decoding process, destination node can efficiently mitigate
inter-frame interference and error propagation effect at the same time.
Simulation results show that, without extra cost of time delay and signalling
overhead, our proposed scheme outperforms the conventional selective
decode-and-forward (S-DF) relaying schemes, such as cyclic redundancy check
based S-DF relaying and threshold based S-DF relaying, by up to 8 dB in terms
of bit-error-rate.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, conference paper has been submitte
Fourth Generation Leptons and Muon
We consider the contributions to from fourth generation heavy
neutral and charged leptons, and , at the one-loop level.
Diagrammatically, there are two types of contributions: boson-boson-, and
--boson in the loop diagram. In general, the effect from is
suppressed by off-diagonal lepton mixing matrix elements. For , we consider
flavor changing neutral couplings arising from various New Physics models,
which are stringently constrained by . We assess how the
existence of a fourth generation would affect these New Physics models.Comment: Minor changes, with references update
Rule-embedded network for audio-visual voice activity detection in live musical video streams
Detecting anchor's voice in live musical streams is an important
preprocessing for music and speech signal processing. Existing approaches to
voice activity detection (VAD) primarily rely on audio, however, audio-based
VAD is difficult to effectively focus on the target voice in noisy
environments. With the help of visual information, this paper proposes a
rule-embedded network to fuse the audio-visual (A-V) inputs to help the model
better detect target voice. The core role of the rule in the model is to
coordinate the relation between the bi-modal information and use visual
representations as the mask to filter out the information of non-target sound.
Experiments show that: 1) with the help of cross-modal fusion by the proposed
rule, the detection result of A-V branch outperforms that of audio branch; 2)
the performance of bi-modal model far outperforms that of audio-only models,
indicating that the incorporation of both audio and visual signals is highly
beneficial for VAD. To attract more attention to the cross-modal music and
audio signal processing, a new live musical video corpus with frame-level label
is introduced.Comment: Submitted to ICASSP 202
Pair Production of Charged Higgs Bosons from Bottom-Quark Fusion
For very large values of , charged Higgs boson pair production at
the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) from the scattering of two bottom quarks can
proceed dominantly. We investigated the cross sections of charged Higgs boson
pair production via the subprocess at the LHC including
the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections in the minimal supersymmetric
standard model (MSSM). We find that the NLO QCD corrections can significantly
reduce the dependence of the cross sections on the renormalization and
factorization scales.Comment: small changes are mad
Cloning and selection of reference genes for gene expression studies in Ananas comosus
Full length mRNA sequences of Ac-β-actin and Ac-gapdh, and partial mRNA sequences of Ac-18SrRNA and Ac-ubiquitin were cloned from pineapple in this study. The four genes were tested as housekeeping genes in three experimental sets. GeNorm and NormFinder analysis revealed that β-actin was the most appropriate reference gene for qPCR analysis of callus under induction conditions and in different tissue types, meanwhile, 18SrRNA was the most stable reference gene during organ development. Gapdh was the most unstable gene in all tested experimental sets. Transcript level analysis result of AcSERK1 in stressed callus normalized by β-actin and 18SrRNA further confirmed that reference genes selected in this study were suitable for transcript level analysis of pineapple. The expression pattern of AcSERK1 during somatic embryogenesis normalized by β-actin coincided with the cytological features of calluses during somatic embryogenesis. These results will enable more accurate and reliable normalization of qPCR results for transcription analysis in pineapple.
