Higher order anisotropies in the Buda-Lund model: Disentangling flow and density field anisotropies

The Buda-Lund hydro model describes an expanding ellipsoidal fireball, and fits the observed elliptic flow and oscillating HBT radii successfully. Due to fluctuations in energy depositions, the fireball shape however fluctuates on an event-by-event basis. The transverse plane asymmetry can be translated into a series of multipole anisotropy coefficients. These anisotropies then result in measurable momentum-space anisotropies, to be measured with respect to their respective symmetry planes. In this paper we detail an extension of the Buda-Lund model to multipole anisotropies and investigate the resulting flow coefficients and oscillations of HBT radii.Comment: 1 column format, 20 pages, 10 figure

The Buda-Lund model describes an expanding hydrodynamical system with ellipsoidal symmetry and fits the observed elliptic flow and oscillating HBT radii successfully. The ellipsoidal symmetry can be characterized by the second order harmonics of the transverse momentum distribution, and it can be also observed in the azimuthal oscillation of the HBT radii measured versus the second order reaction plane. The model may have to be changed to describe the experimentally indicated higher order asymmetries. In this paper we detail an extension of the Buda-Lund hydro model to investigate higher order flow harmonics and the triangular dependence of the azimuthally sensitive HBT radii.Comment: 4 pages, 6 figures. Testing the Fit of Regression Models Estimated with Extremely Small Samples: Application in Pharmaceutical Stability Studies

Pharmaceutical stability studies are conducted to estimate the shelf life, i.e. the period during which the drug product maintains its identity and stability. In the evaluation of process, regression curve is fitted on the data obtained during the study and the shelf life is determined using the fitted curve. The evaluation process suggested by ICH considers only the case of the true relationship between the measured attribute and time being linear. However, no method is suggested for the practitioner to decide if the linear model is appropriate for their dataset. This is a major problem, as a falsely selected model may distort the estimated shelf life to a great extent, resulting in unreliable quality control. The difficulty of model misspecification detection in stability studies is that very few observations are available. The conventional methods applied for model verification might not be appropriate or efficient due to the small sample size. In this paper, this problem is addressed and some developed methods are proposed to detect model misspecification. The methods can be applied for any process where the regression estimation is performed on independent small samples. Besides stability studies, frequently performed construction of single calibration curves for an analytical measurement is another case where the methods may be applied. It is shown that our methods are statistically appropriate and some of them have high efficiency in the detection of model misspecification when applied in simulated situations which resemble pre-approval and post-approval stability studies

Effect of Anodic Pretreatment on the Performance of Glassy Carbon Electrode in Acetonitrile and Electrooxidation of Para-substituted Phenols in Acetonitrile on Platinum and Glassy Carbon Electrode

In the first part of the work electropolymerisation of phenol was studied at glassy carbon electrode. Rapid fouling of its surface indicated the formation of coherent poly(phenyleneoxide) layer which was demonstrated by the repeated cyclic voltammetric scans. Effect of anodic pretreatment potential in acetonitrile solvent was also investigated and the results showed that at potentials higher than 2 V glassy carbon electrode becomes deactivated. Preanodisation of glassy carbon electrode at 3 V in acetonitrile resulted in diminished anodic peak currents by phenols. It was due to the partial deactivation of electrode surface and its extent increased with the pretreatment time. The electrooxidation of para-substituted phenols (p-Cl-phenol, p-NO2-phenol, p-tertbutylphenol, p-methoxyphenol) in acetonitrile resulted in no fouling layer on platinum electrode and the peak currents were significantly higher than in the first scan of unsubstituted phenol in the same concentration. Electropolymerization of N,N'-Diphenylguanidine in Non-Aqueous Aprotic Solvents and Alcohols

Electrooxidation of N,N’-diphenylguanidine (1,3-diphenylguanidine) was investigated in aprotic (acetonitrile, acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl formamide, propyleneoxide, nitromethane) and alcoholic (methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-pentanol, benzyl alcohol) non-aqueous solvents at platinum electrode with cyclic voltammetry. Its concentration was 5 mM in most cases. In acetonitrile and acetone a sharp voltammetric peak appeared around 1 V vs. reference and currents measured in the subsequent scans showed that the electrode fouled quickly. In dimethyl formamide, the anodic peak heights decreased slowly in the subsequent scans but in dimethyl sulfoxide weak deactivation could be observed both in smaller and in higher concentration. In alcohols, continuous deactivation could be also observed during electrooxidation of N,N’-diphenylguanidine. The permeability studies showed that the structure of the formed polymer films varied significantly according to the solvent used for electrodeposition

„A’ Kereszténységnek vóltam őr állója, / Pogány erejének sokszor tzáfolója” – Gvadányi József és Belgrád 1789-es visszafoglalásának magyar nyelvű irodalmi recepciója

Tanulmányunk egy nagy közéleti és irodalmi visszhangot kiváltó történeti eseménynek, II. József török háborújának (1787–1790), valamint Belgrád újabb visszafoglalásának (1789) magyar nyelvű irodalmi recepcióját vizsgálja. A téma népszerűségét és fontosságát bizonyítja, hogy nemcsak a neolatin recepciója igen gazdag, hanem az események hatására számos nemzeti nyelven születtek művek. Az írásunk középpontjában Gvadányi József (1725–1801) áll, akinek a költeménye egyrészt sok tekintetben kiemelkedik a korban a témát már nemzeti, magyar nyelven feldolgozó munkák közül, másrészt fontos mérföldkőnek tekinthetjük a magyar irodalomtörténetben. Gvadányi műve ugyanis remek példa II. József törökök elleni háborújának témájában a katolikus magyar nyelvű reflexív költészetre, mintegy átmenetet képezve a latin nyelvű reflexív és magyar nyelvű, már önreflexív költemények között. A tanulmány első részében rövid válogatást adunk az ismertebb, már magyarul verselő szerzők II. József török háborújára reflektáló műveiből, majd hosszabban időzünk el a jezsuita képzésben részesülő, de a tudomány helyett a katonai pályát választó Gvadányi József munkájánál. A hadtörténeti részleteket sem nélkülöző, a belgrádi ostromot megverselő költemény Nándor Fejér Várnak meg vétele, mellyet Belgrád, és annak kommendánsa között eshető képzelt beszélgetésben versekbe foglaltt, és Hazánk élö nyelvén közre botsátott G. G. J. Magyar Lovas Generális A Versekben gyönyörködök kedvekért címmel jelent meg. Gvadányi írásában számos neolatin költészetre jellemző tulajdonságokkal találkozhatunk, mint például a vár megszemélyesítése, a heroida-levelekkel színesített párbeszédek vagy az antik mitológiai párhuzamok. Amellett, hogy néhány érdekesebb részletet kiemelve összefoglaljuk a vers tartalmát, szót ejtünk keletkezésének körülményeiről, szerkezetéről és fontosabb jellemzőiről
