Representation of SO(3) Group by a Maximally Entangled State

A representation of the SO(3) group is mapped into a maximally entangled two qubit state according to literatures. To show the evolution of the entangled state, a model is set up on an maximally entangled electron pair, two electrons of which pass independently through a rotating magnetic field. It is found that the evolution path of the entangled state in the SO(3) sphere breaks an odd or even number of times, corresponding to the double connectedness of the SO(3) group. An odd number of breaks leads to an additional π\pi phase to the entangled state, but an even number of breaks does not. A scheme to trace the evolution of the entangled state is proposed by means of entangled photon pairs and Kerr medium, allowing observation of the additional π\pi phase.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

Assessing Ageing Condition of Mineral Oil-Paper Insulation by Polarization/Depolarization Current

    No full text
Accurately assessing the ageing status of oil-paper insulation in transformer is essential and important. Polarization and Depolarization Current (PDC) technique is effective in assessing the condition of oil-paper insulation system. Though the PDC behaviour of mineral oil-paper insulation has been widely investigated, there is no report about how to make the quantitative analysis of mineral oil-paper insulation ageing condition by PDC. The PDC characteristics of mineral oil-paper insulation samples were investigated over the ageing period at 110°C. A new method for assessing the ageing condition of mineral oil-paper insulation by calculating the depolarization charge quantity was proposed. Results show that the depolarization charge quantity of mineral oil-paper insulation sample is very sensitive to its ageing condition. The stable depolarization charge quantity could be used to predict the ageing condition of mineral oil-paper insulation

Semi-supervised learning gets estimated marginal distribution P-X with a large number of unlabeled examples and then constrains the conditional probability p(y vertical bar x) with a few labeled examples. In this paper, we focus on a regularization appr

    Audeosynth: music-driven video montage

    Get PDF
We introduce music-driven video montage, a media format that offers a pleasant way to browse or summarize video clips collected from various occasions, including gatherings and adventures. In music-driven video montage, the music drives the composition of the video content. According to musical movement and beats, video clips are organized to form a montage that visually reflects the experiential properties of the music. Nonetheless, it takes enormous manual work and artistic expertise to create it. In this paper, we develop a framework for automatically generating music-driven video montages. The input is a set of video clips and a piece of background music. By analyzing the music and video content, our system extracts carefully designed temporal features from the input, and casts the synthesis problem as an optimization and solves the parameters through Markov Chain Monte Carlo sampling. The output is a video montage whose visual activities are cut and synchronized with the rhythm of the music, rendering a symphony of audio-visual resonance.postprin

The objective of this study was to successfully establish plant regeneration system with cotyledons of Stylosanthes guianensis Sw. cv. ‘Reyan 2’ as explants. In this study, the following results were obtained; (1) the highest rates of callus induction on medium MS with 3.0 mg L-1 2, 4-D with cotyledons as explants were 74%. The above medium of formulation was adopted for subculture; (2) the highest rates of callus differentiation medium MS with 3.0 mg L-1 6-BA with cotyledons as explants was 66%; (3) the optimum medium of shoot growth was MS medium plus 1.0 mg L-1 6-BA, 0.5 mg L-1 NAA and 0.4 mg L-1 GA; (4) the rooting rate was 60% on optimum rooting medium with 0.2 mg L-1 NAA; (5) the survival rate of plant transplanting was 70% after transferred to pots with garden soil. In conclusion, the efficient plant regeneration system developed here will be helpful for rapid micropropagation and further genetic improvement in S. guianensis Sw. cv. ‘Reyan 2’.Key words: Stylosanthes guianensis Sw. cv. We report on growth and device performance of infrared photodetectors based on type II InAs/Ga(In)Sb strain layer superlattices (SLs) using the complementary barrier infrared detector (CBIRD) design. The unipolar barriers on either side of the absorber in the CBIRD design in combination with the type-II InAs/GaSb superlattice material system are expected to outperform traditional III-V LWIR imaging technologies and offer significant advantages over the conventional II-VI material based FPAs. The innovative design of CBIRDS, low defect density material growth, and robust fabrication processes have resulted in the development of high performance long wave infrared (LWIR) focal plane arrays at JPL

Better Stereo Matching From Simple Yet Effective Wrangling of Deep Features

    Get PDF
Cost volume plays a pivotal role in stereo matching. Most recent works focused on deep feature extraction and cost refinement for a more accurate cost volume. Unlike them, we probe from a different perspective: feature wrangling. We find that simple wrangling of deep features can effectively improve the construction of cost volume and thus the performance of stereo matching. Specifically, we develop two simple yet effective wrangling techniques of deep features, spatially a differentiable feature transformation and channel-wise a memory-economical feature expansion, for better cost construction. Exploiting the local ordering information provided by a differentiable rank transform, we achieve an enhancement of the search for correspondence; with the help of disparity division, our feature expansion allows for more features into the cost volume with no extra memory required. Equipped with these two feature wrangling techniques, our simple network can perform outstandingly on the widely used KITTI and Sceneflow datasets
