The project LLAMA, acronym of Long Latin American Millimetre Array is very briefly described in this paper. This project is a joint scientific and technological  undertaking of Argentina and Brazil on the basis of an equal investment share, whose mail goal is both to install and to operate an observing facility capable of exploring the Universe at millimetre and sub/millimetre wavelengths. A high sensitivity HI survey of the sky at δ ≤ -25°

This paper reports on a high sensitivity λ 21-cm neutral hydrogen survey of the sky south of δ ≤ -25°. A total of 50980 positions lying on a galactic coordinate grid with points spaced by (Δl, Δb) = (0°.5/cos b, 0°.5), were observed with the 30 m dish of the Instituto Argentino de Radioastronomía (IAR). The angular resolution of the survey is HPBW = 30′, and the velocity coverage spans the interval -450 km s-1 to +400 km s-1 (LSR). The velocity resolution is 1.27 km s-1 and the final rms noise of the entire database is ∼ 0.07 K. Introducción. La plasmaféresis o intercambio plasmático (IP) es parte de la terapia en algunas enfermedades neurológicas; Miastenia Gravis (MG), Guillain-Barré(GB) y Polineuropatía Des-mielinizante Inflamatoria Crónica (CIDP) son las indicaciones más frecuentes. Busca la remoción de anticuerpos, complejos inmunes circulantes y cito-quinas, entre otros. Por la actividad inmunológica humoral e inflamatoria implicada en la fisiopatología de ciertas entidades neurológicas, es una buena alter-nativa terapéutica. Existen registros internacionales de aféresis en neurología; sin embargo, en Colombia la información es limitada.Resumen de investigación

Polarímetro para observaciones en el continuo en 1435 Mhz con la antena Nº 2 del IAR

We are engaged, at the IAR, in a survey of the continuum at 1435 MHz in the southern hemisphere. We put a polarimeter to measure simultaneously the four Stokes parameters. It is based in a receptor which decomposed the incident radiation into polarization components (circular, left and right). The energy detection in each chanel plus the sine and cosine products give the output. The four singles are demodulated and processed using a Commodore 64 computer and an IBM respectively. Utilidad del Reibergrama para el estudio neuroinmunológico del lupus eritematoso sistémico

En el curso del lupus eritematoso sistémico, se pueden desarrollar diversos signos y síntomas asociado a los auto anticuerpos producidos en esta enfermedad, uno de los sistemas que con frecuencia se afecta es el Sistema Nerviosos Central, cuya  expresión  pueden variar desde cefaleas discretas o persistentes, hasta casos de extrema gravedad de inflamación o infartos cerebrales; hasta la actualidad las investigaciones para el estudio de estas manifestaciones están centradas en la detección de los distintos tipos de anticuerpos antinucleares, incluyendo a los anticuerpos antiproteína P ribosomal, y a los estudios de imágenes dirigidos a identificar lesiones inflamatorias vasculares o áreas asociadas a infartos cerebrales, con esta comunicación queremos dar a conocer la posibilidad de utilizar el Reibergrama como otro medio orientativo en el estudio de las manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas de esta entidad

Estudio neuroinmunológico en un paciente con manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas en el lupus eritematoso sistémico

Manifestations neuropsychiatric in Systemic lupus erythematosus debut can result of difficult diagnostic in absence of other elements of its clinical manifestations. Reibergram or Reiber´s quotient diagram are used in order to analyse the blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier function and the proteins intrathecal synthesis. It presents a patient with manifestations neuropsychiatric that in the course of the illness is identified like a Systemic lupus erythematosus with affectation of the central nervous system. The patient showed a favourable response to use of steroids intravenous. It reflects complementary tests that oriented to this diagnostic and is established the intrathecal synthesis pattern of the major immunoglobulins using the reibergrama. This study constitutes the first report of the neuroimmunological response in a patient with neuropsychiatric manifestations in Systemic lupus erythematosus.Las manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas del lupus eritematoso sistémico en su debut pueden resultar de difícil diagnóstico en ausencia de otros elementos de su cuadro clínico. El reibergrama, o gráfica de las razones de Reiber, son diagramas en los que básicamente se analiza de forma integrada la funcionalidad de la barrera sangre- líquido cefalorraquídeo y la síntesis intratecal de una proteína determinada. Se presenta un paciente con manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas que en el curso de la enfermedad se identifica como un lupus eritematoso sistémico con afectación del sistema nervioso central y respuesta favorable al uso de esteroides endovenoso. Se reflejan exámenes complementarios que orientaron a este diagnóstico y se establece el patrón de síntesis intratecal de inmunoglobulinas mayores, a través  del reibergrama. Constituye este estudio el primer reporte sobre la respuesta neuroinmunológica en un paciente con manifestaciones neuropsiquiátricas en el  lupus eritematoso sistémico
