An electron-cooling device in the one MeV energy region

    No full text
The project of an electron cooling device at 700 KeV electron kinetic energy will be reported. The single parts of the device will be described in detail. Finally, electron beam diagnostics and technical problems will be discussed

Antiproton stopping power in He in the energy range 1-900 keV and the Barkas effect.

The anti-p stopping power in helium from 1 keV kinetic energy is evaluated. Contrary to the effect observed around and below the maximum, Obelix data indicate a anti-p stopping power higher than that for proton, the difference being of the order of 15\ub15% at 48 700 keV. The result contributes to assert the fundamental difference between anti-p stoppings in the simplest gases (He, H2) and in solid targets below some MeV

Correlated Λd pairs from the K-stop A →ΛdA’ reaction

Correlated Λd pairs emitted after the absorption of negative kaons at rest K − stopA→ΛdA in light nuclei 6Li and 12C are studied. Λ-hyperons and deuterons are found to be preferentially emitted in opposite directions. The Λd invariant mass spectrum of 6Li shows a bump whose mass is 3251 ±6 MeV/c2. The bump mass (binding energy), width and yield are reported. The appearance of a bump is discussed in the realm of the [ ¯K3N] clustering process in nuclei. The experiment was performed with the FINUDA spectrometer at DANE (LNF
