Bibliografia Etnografii Polskiej (BEP) jako narzędzie pomocne w informacji naukowej i dydaktyce

The Bibliography of Polish Ethnography (BEP) has been online since 2007 and since that year has changed several times. At the technical level, the software was changed, which effected on the way how the editors work. At the level of functioning, the functionality of the database has been expanded by adding redirects from the database directly to the texts, if they are available in the public domain. The members of the editorial team also began to incorporate BEP into the didactic process. The paper presents the lessons learned from the work on modified database and the experience gained during didactics using BEP

The text will present the complex contexts of the social situation currently prevailing in Poland. Firstly, these are the migration effects of the war on February 24, 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine. Secondly, it is a crisis related to war refugees (from Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, and various African countries) on the Polish-Belarusian border (since 2021). Both crises are covered in thoroughly different ways by the media, state, and public opinion. In these cases, we are dealing with a situation that does not create a homogenous image of migration and refugees, neither at the level of social assessments nor when it comes to the law or the state support system. To understand the situation, it is necessary to observe the development of non-institutional and grassroots forms of approach to social and humanitarian crises in Polish society, including those led by NGOs. However, the models of assistance used for new groups in crisis in Poland (war refugees) are largely based on the well-known rules of assistance (homelessness). The question is: to what extent are the two crises compatible so that it is possible to use one type of experience (help in homelessness) to organize support for people remaining in another crisis (war refugees)? This is important in the Polish case, although it applied there the system of public social assistance, the authorities use only methods of managing crises and social problems, and not solving them

Streszczenie: Bibliografia Etnografii Polskiej (BEP) funkcjonuje w internecie od 2007 r. i od tego czasu przeszła kilka zmian. Na poziomie technicznym zmieniono oprogramowanie, co przełożyło się na sposób pracy redaktorów. Na poziomie funkcjonalności dodano bezpośrednie przekierowania z bazy do tekstów, o ile są dostępne w domenie publicznej. Członkinie zespołu redakcyjnego zaczęły również włączać BEP do procesu dydaktycznego. This text is devoted to selected questions on the border of the ethnography of Łodź and research into women’s issues, and thus joins the trend of women’s urban anthropology. The author reinterprets selected sources, such as various types of writings and field materials from the archives of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Łodź. About Women in Conflicts and Wars: Theories of Violence and Collective Memory

The article deals with the subject of relations between theories of violence and the category of collective memory in relation to women’s war stories. The text introduces the issue of war and conflict, understanding the theory of violence, the category of collective memory and female war narratives, as well as the ways of their political interpretation.
