The documents of the League of Nations archive concerning the history of a unique emigrant institution — the Russian Ambulatory in Berlin are introduced into scientific circulation in the article. It is reported that for at least 17 years (since 1920), the clinic had pro-vided free assistance to the poor. The annual reports and correspondence of the clinic make it possible not only to assess the scale of the activities of the philanthropists of Russian Berlin and their humanitarian significance, but also to analyze information about the social and demographic processes in the emigrant community in the 1920s—1930s. It is noted that from 1920 to 1934 the clinic received 171,955 patients (more than one and a half thousand people a year, of all ages and nationalities). Information is given that doctors treated a wide range of diseases: cardiovascular, nervous, venereal, respiratory and digestive system, urogenital system, eye and ear, the consequences of injuries and trauma. It has been established that the outpatient clinic distributed free medicines, food, and basic necessities since the early 1930s and provided lunches and places in the Salvation Army dormitory for the homeless. The statistics of the clinic are presented with data on the ethnic composition of Russian Berlin (the most representative of the known ones), the aging of emigration in Germany, and the low birth rate in the 1930s and the spread of poverty associated with the Great Depression

Import from Germany as a factor in the transportation crisis of the Russian Empire during World War I examines the importation of German transportation vehicles and equipment into Russia during the five years leading up to the First World War. Utilizing statistical data from German customs, this study sheds light on the extent to which German production contributed to Russian imports. Special attention is given to the presence of German automobiles in the Russian automobile fleet by 1914, as well as the consequences of prewar dependence on German machinery and other equipment. New sources, including materials from Russian and German periodicals, German customs statistics, and documents from the Federal Archives of Germany (Bundesarchiv), are introduced to provide a more complete understanding of the transportation crisis of 1916—1917. It is noted that Germanmade automobiles made up a significant portion of the Russian army’s vehicle fleet. The study concludes that dependence on German imports for industrial consumption undermined the potential of Russian industry, preventing it from increasing production sufficiently during the war years to meet transportation needs and contributing to the crisis

The article deals with the problem of the evolution of views on the logical-expert approach to the system of assessing the state of the resource potential of the territory in the context of the foreseeable prospects for the development of productive forces. The key components of this methodological platform are highlighted, as well as the prospects for its further application in the process of expanded reproduction. Noted that the priority in the methodology of logic-the expert approach, is a comprehensive study of the basic characteristics of the territorial environment, industry aspects of

The health care funds for the monitoring must be seen as a goal-oriented process, which takes place during the entire duration of the child in educational institution, regardless of age. The possibility of using such methods of controlling the quality of physical education allows on development of physical training in educational institutionЗдоровьесбережение по средствам мониторинга необходимо рассматривать как целенаправленный процесс, который проходит в течение всего срока обучения ребенка в общеобразовательном учреждении независимо от возраста. Возможность использования такого метода контроля за качеством физического воспитания позволяет судить об уровне физического развития учащихся в общеобразовательном учреждени

The H1 Forward Proton Spectrometer at HERA

The forward proton spectrometer is part of the H1 detector at the HERA collider. Protons with energies above 500 GeV and polar angles below 1 mrad can be detected by this spectrometer. The main detector components are scintillating fiber detectors read out by position-sensitive photo-multipliers. These detectors are housed in so-called Roman Pots which allow them to be moved close to the circulating proton beam. Four Roman Pot stations are located at distances between 60 m and 90 m from the interaction point.Comment: 20 pages, 10 figures, submitted to Nucl.Instr.and Method

Incorporation of bevacizumab to preoperative regional chemotherapy (CT) failed to increase the volume of intraoperative blood loss and the frequency of postoperative complications. Addition of the drug in the regional CT group significantly enhanced the rate of its effect up to 64 % and that of grade III medical pathomorphism up to 55 %. Regardless of the pattern of surgeries, the rate of complications after extended hepatectomy did not differ significantly in the treatment groups. Irrespective of treatment, the rate of acute liver failure rose when the volume of surgery was increased from conventional hemihepatectomy to extended hemihepatectomy. Acute liver failure was prominent (21%) among the complications in the treatment group. The highest incidence of acute liver failure in the comparable groups was observed in the preoperative regional CT group
