In Search of a General Approach to Legal Analysis: A Comparative Institutional Alternative

This Article is an attempt to aid in the construction of such a general approach to legal analysis. Its central thesis is that all legal decisions share a fundamental feature that should be a basic building block for any general analytic approach: they all involve a choice among imperfect alternative decision-making institutions. In all cases, legal decision makers must consider the relative merits or attributes of the alternative institutions. The analyst of legal decisions, therefore, should adopt a comparative institutional approach, which can be simply stated as follows: the determinants of legal decisions can best be analyzed when legal decision makers are viewed as though they were concerned with choosing the best, or least imperfect, institution to implement a given societal goal

A Job for the Judges: The Judiciary and the Constitution in a Massive and Complex Society

This article attempts that task by exploring the elements of institutional choice in constitutional law. Part I takes an overview of the general division of decisionmaking responsibility between the political processes and the courts. It also examines the failures of existing theories to take account of this division of responsibility. Part II identifies two theories of political malfunction - those circumstances in which political processes are subject to significant doubt or distrust and, therefore, prime candidates for judicial review. Part III examines the characteristics - limits, biases, and abilities - of the judiciary and the potential for judicial response to the political malfunctions discussed earlier. It explains why various forms of judicial response are more appropriate for some types of political malfunction than for others. Tonsko mapiranje RAW digitalnih zapisa fotografske slike

Standardno snimanje digitalnim fotografskim aparatom rezultira 8 bitnim zapisom za plavi, zeleni i crveni kanal što odgovara i standardnom JPEG zapisu fotografske slike koji je u daljnoj fazi digitalnog fotografskog sustava obradiv i u konačnici reproducibilan, tj. ostvarljiv. Koristeći različite tehnike realizacije, potencijalno, rezultira razlučivanjem 16,8 milijuna boja što, idejno, odgovara ljudskom viđenju. Međutim, potencijalna scena sadrži bitno veći raspon tonova i boja, odnosno, njezin je dinamički raspon višestruko veći, što je fotografski moguće zabilježiti korištenjem tehnika HDR fotografije. Ipak, HDR fotografija nije pogodna za sve fotografske objekte i motive te se kao alternativa nameće korištenje punog dinamičkog raspona senzora digitalnog fotografskog aparata tj. snimanja u sirovom (RAW) formatu. U promatranom slučaju snimanje rezultira 14 bitnim zapisom po kanalu koji predstavalja pseudo HDR zapis. Međutim, tako dobiveni zapis nije reproducibilan te se prije realizacije treba provesti mapiranje tonova u 8-bitni zapis za što danas postoji niz različitih softverskih rješenja koja se teoretski i eksperimentalno analiziraju u ovom radu. Kako bi se provela objektivna usporedba fotografija dobivenih snimanjem u RAW formatu i različitim mapiranjima tonova, korišten je i testiran model usporedbe izlaznih histograma fotografije

SAFETY MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRICAL MACHINES IN BAKERY PRODUCTION

U ovo radu analizirano je upravljanje električnim strojevima u proizvodnji na primjeru pekarske industrije. Poduzeće Prhko d.o.o. bavi se proizvodnjom pekarskih proizvoda. Kako se može vidjeti postojeća organizacijska struktura usmjerena je na dvije divizije, a to je prodaja i trgovina. U poduzeću je zaposleno 12 ljudi pri čemu je najveći broj zaposlenika zaposlen upravo u trgovini i proizvodnji. Od strojeva koji se koriste postoji linija za proizvodnju pekarskih proizvoda, kruha i peciva, suhih tijesta. Suha tijesta, kruh i peciva se pakiraju na pakinici folijom. Kod zaštite ljudi poduzete su posebne mjere pri čemu se od zaposlenika zahtijeva ponašanje u skladu sa pravilnikom, a to znači da je u pogonu strogo zabranjeno pušenje te konzumacija alkohola. Također od zaposlenika koji rade kod strojeva očekuje se da budu odjeveni u zaštitnu odjeću te svi zaposlenici prije nego što dolaze na rad sa strojem, prolaze internu obuku u trajanju od mjesec dana.This paper analyzes the management of electrical machines in the production of bakery industry. Prhko d.o.o. deals with the production of bakery products. As can be seen, the existing organizational structure is directed at two divisions, namely sales and trade. The company employs 12 people, with the largest number of employees being employed in trade and manufacturing. From machines used there is a line for the production of bakery products, bread and rolls, dry dough. Dry dough, bread and biscuits are packed in foil wrap. Special measures have been taken to protect people, requiring employees to behave according to the rules, which means that smoking and alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited. Also, employees working on machines are expected to be dressed in protective clothing and all employees before going to work with the machine will undergo an internship for a month
