International requirements for improving energy efficiency and environmental protection and the necessary goals for their implementation in the marine industry are an actual problem. To integrate state-of-the-industry technologies and marine specialists education, the training complex is proposed. It is based on the platform of a hardware-software complex with the ability to integrate training equipment, simulators and software. That makes such a training complex multitask, universal, and flexible in achieving a variety of tasks and goals. The complex also implements high-quality education and training of marine specialists, conducting research after processing working out the results of engineering modelling of structural, thermal power, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, multi-physical and other solutions. The need to use the training complex allows us to form the necessary competence of the engine team personnel, develop methods and criteria for assessing competence, evaluate and demonstrate practical skills.Międzynarodowe wymogi dotyczące poprawy efektywności energetycznej i ochrony środowiska oraz cele niezbędne do ich wdrożenia w przemyśle morskim stanowią aktualny problem. W celu zintegrowania najnowocześniejszych technologii i kształcenia specjalistów z branży morskiej proponuje się utworzenie kompleksu szkoleniowego. The various aspects of physico-chemical modification of the components of structural materials of functional application based on classical composites and nanocomposites are analyzed. Potential applications of such materials are briefly described. Ultrasonic cavitation treatment is considered as a basic method of physical modification when obtaining the indicated classes of composites. The influence of ultrasonic treatment modes on the technological and operational properties of reactoplastic polymers, as well as on the hardening of reinforced composites based on them, is investigated. Technical means of ultrasonic cavitation processing of liquid binders and polymer composites based on them are briefly described. An effective spectrum of interrelated structural and technological parameters of ultrasonic treatment has been characterized, which is established by calculation and experimentally-statistically. The design issues of the technological processes of obtaining polymer composites of functional application are analyzed. The efficiency of creating carbon fiber composite materials, as well as the prospects for creating of these materials based on reinforcing fabric with nanomodified fillers is described. The methods of obtaining functional nanomodified carbon-composites with improved physicomechanical and operational properties, in particular with increased strength and electrical conductivity, are characterized. The effectiveness of the ultrasonic treatment and production of nanomodified thermoplastic composite materials by extrusion method is considered. Various aspects of the methods of physical and physicochemical modification of components of filled thermo-plastic composite materials are analyzed, aimed at improving the surface properties of the fillers and the technological properties of the polymer matrix during their interaction. It is noted that the improvement of the interfacial interaction of the components of polymer reactoplastic composites, including adhesive strength, is a key factor for improving the reliability of the cured filled composite. As a promising area of research, a modification of the surface of the reinforcing fibrous filler and the technological characteristics of the liquid polymer binder, aimed at increasing their contact properties in the composite was chosen. The effectiveness of the physical method of modifying the components of composites in the form of low-frequency ultrasonic processing is described. The peculiarities of cluster formation and physicochemical modification of epoxy polymers filled with dispersed fillers are analyzed. Attention is focused on the effectiveness of ultrasonic processing in cavitation mode for deagglomeration and uniform distribution of nanoparticles in a liquid medium during the creation of nanocomposites. Experimentally confirmed the improvement of the technological properties of liquid epoxy polymers, modified by ultrasound, used for the impregnation of oriented fibrous fillers, as well as the improvement of the physicomechanical properties of the sonicated epoxy matrices

2D Molybdenum Carbide MXenes for Enhanced Selective Detection of Humidity in Air

2D transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes) open up novel opportunities in gas sensing with high sensitivity at room temperature. Herein, 2D Mo2CTx flakes with high aspect ratio are successfully synthesized. The chemiresistive effect in a sub-mu m MXene multilayer for different organic vapors and humidity at 10(1)-10(4) ppm in dry air is studied. Reasonably, the low-noise resistance signal allows the detection of H2O down to 10 ppm. Moreover, humidity suppresses the response of Mo2CTx to organic analytes due to the blocking of adsorption active sites. By measuring the impedance of MXene layers as a function of ac frequency in the 10(-2)-10(6) Hz range, it is shown that operation principle of the sensor is dominated by resistance change rather than capacitance variations. The sensor transfer function allows to conclude that the Mo2CTx chemiresistance is mainly originating from electron transport through interflake potential barriers with heights up to 0.2 eV. Density functional theory calculations, elucidating the Mo2C surface interaction with organic analytes and H2O, explain the experimental data as an energy shift of the density of states under the analyte's adsorption which induces increasing electrical resistance

Search for the Phi(1860) Pentaquark at COMPASS

Narrow Xi-pi+- and Xi-bar+pi+- resonances produced by quasi-real photons have been searched for by the COMPASS experiment at CERN. The study was stimulated by the recent observation of an exotic baryonic state decaying into Xi-pi-, at a mass of 1862 MeV, interpreted as a pentaquark. While the ordinary hyperon states Xi(1530)^0 and Xi-bar(1530)^0 are clearly seen, no exotic baryon is observed in the data taken in 2002 and 2003.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure

Collins and Sivers asymmetries in muonproduction of pions and kaons off transversely polarised protons

    Get PDF
Measurements of the Collins and Sivers asymmetries for charged pions and charged and neutral kaons produced in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering of high energy muons off transversely polarised protons are presented. The results were obtained using all the available COMPASS proton data, which were taken in the years 2007 and 2010. The Collins asymmetries exhibit in the valence region a non-zero signal for pions and there are hints of non-zero signal also for kaons. The Sivers asymmetries are found to be positive for positive pions and kaons and compatible with zero otherwise. © 2015
