Scope of studies on GLIM criteria for malnutrition diagnosis: a scoping reviews protocol

    No full text
A recent scoping review evaluated the utilization and validation of GLIM criteria for malnutrition diagnosis and demonstrated that GLIM criteria have been extensively studied since their publication. The authors identified BMI as the most often used phenotypic criterion whereas both reduced food intake and inflammation were frequently employed as etiological criteria. The search literature of this review was conducted in January 2021 and it was not updated. In addition the authors limited the inclusion to English publication and excluded 54 reports due to the language ref. So, the results of this scoping review did not represent a map of the literature on malnutrition diagnosis by GLIM criteria. Furthermore, it is relevant to know if the methodology of studies using GLIM criteria for malnutrition diagnosis improved after the guidance on their validation. So, the scoping review will identify and map the literature on malnutrition diagnosis by GLIM criteria in hospitalized patients, exploring the differences between studies published before and after the guidance for GLIM validation
