Methods for electroencephalogram records comparison
Vybrané parametre následne otestovať na dátach z verejne dostupnej databázy pomocou softwaru Matlab, výsledky štatisticky spracovať a porovnať s výsledkami existujúcich vedeckých štúdií. Porovnanie prebehlo na základe parametrov Hurstov exponent, Korelačná dimenzia, Lyapunov exponent a Odhadovaná entropia. The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of EEG signals from the human brain. The aim of this work is to find suitable nonlinear parameters, based on which it is possible to compare EEG records created in different conditions. The selected parameters are then tested on data from a publicly available database using Matlab software, the results are statistically processed and compared with the results of existing scientific studies. The comparison was based on the parameters Approximate entropy, Correlation dimension, Hurst exponent and Lyapunov exponent.

The Development Trend of the Occupational Health and Safety in the Context of ISO 45001:2018
The main task of safety and health at work is to protect the most important thing we have, the health of each of us. Employers are able to anticipate and prevent risks by properly implemented occupational safety and health management systems. The basic task of the article is to describe the history of safety management systems to identify the state of implementation of the ISO 45001 system in the world. Subsequently, the article describes the ISO 45001 standard from the perspective of the PDCA cycle and describes the benefits and importance of implementing the ISO 45001 standard. The conclusion of the article deals with the development trend of the occupational health and safety management system according to STN ISO 45001:2019 in the context of occupational accidents in the conditions of the Slovak Republic
Impact of corrosion effect on the quality and safety of refractory materials
The quality of refractory materials plays an important role especially in high temperature processes. In case of violation of qualitative properties of refractory materials, the safety of the use of the technological equipment in which these materials are used is compromised. The requirements on the quality of refractories and their properties are now high, as their operating life should be as long as possible. The aim of the article is to point out the quality of refractory material in contact with corrosive media, to analyze the technological factors that affect the quality and safety of technological equipment. An analysis of the refractory material, as well as the analysis of the melt was performed. Subsequently, an experiment was realized, which was evaluated by macroscopic analysis and chemical analysis. After the experiments, we found that the melt had penetrated the masonry and consequently created corrosion layers in the masonry. These layers have affected the life of the material and reduced the safety of the technological equipment in which they were used

Application of Six Sigma Using DMAIC Methodology in the Process of Product Quality Control in Metallurgical Operation
The Six Sigma DMAIC can be considered a guide for problem solving and product or process improvement. The majority of companies start to implement Six Sigma using the DMAIC methodology. The paper deals with application of Six Sigma using the DMAIC methodology in the process of product quality control. The case study is oriented on the field of metallurgical operations. The goal of the Six Sigma project was to ensure the required metallurgic product quality and to avoid an increase in internal costs associated with poor product quality. In this case study, a variety of tools and techniques like flow chart, histogram, Pareto diagram, analysis of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) data, cause and effect diagram, logical analysis was used. The Sigma level has improved by approximately 13%. The achieved improvements have helped to reduce the quantity of defective products and the processing costs (technology for re-adjusting). Benefits resulting from the DMAIC implementation can be divided into three levels: the qualitative, economic and safety level

Cardiovascular Safety of Degarelix Versus Leuprolide in Patients With Prostate Cancer: The Primary Results of the PRONOUNCE Randomized Trial
BackgroundThe relative cardiovascular safety of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonists compared with GnRH agonists in men with prostate cancer and known atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease remains controversial.MethodsIn this international, multicenter, prospective, randomized, open-label trial, men with prostate cancer and concomitant atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease were randomly assigned 1:1 to receive the GnRH antagonist degarelix or the GnRH agonist leuprolide for 12 months. The primary outcome was the time to first adjudicated major adverse cardiovascular event (composite of death, myocardial infarction, or stroke) through 12 months.ResultsBecause of slower-than-projected enrollment and fewer-than-projected primary outcome events, enrollment was stopped before the 900 planned participants were accrued. From May 3, 2016, to April 16, 2020, a total of 545 patients from 113 sites across 12 countries were randomly selected. Baseline characteristics were balanced between study groups. The median age was 73 years, 49.8% had localized prostate cancer; 26.3% had locally advanced disease, and 20.4% had metastatic disease. A major adverse cardiovascular event occurred in 15 (5.5%) patients assigned to degarelix and 11 (4.1%) patients assigned to leuprolide (hazard ratio, 1.28 [95% CI, 0.59-2.79]; P=0.53).ConclusionsPRONOUNCE (A Trial Comparing Cardiovascular Safety of Degarelix Versus Leuprolide in Patients With Advanced Prostate Cancer and Cardiovascular Disease) is the first, international, randomized clinical trial to prospectively compare the cardiovascular safety of a GnRH antagonist and a GnRH agonist in patients with prostate cancer. The study was terminated prematurely because of the smaller than planned number of participants and events, and no difference in major adverse cardiovascular events at 1 year between patients assigned to degarelix or leuprolide was observed. The relative cardiovascular safety of GnRH antagonists and agonists remains unresolved. Registration: URL: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov; Unique identifier: NCT02663908
