The article aims at exploring the trust establishment among patients with depression during their journey to psychiatric patient-hood. This study was undertaken in government hospital involving 29 psychiatric outpatient users in Kedah and Pulau Pinang respectively. Phenomenology study and gender lens employed to scrutinize on the patients’ lived experiences in mental health care, at the same time magnifying the gender differences in perceiving the service. Semi-structured in-depth interview and non-participant observation were the tools used in data collection. The data then explicated with the aid of a qualitative data analysis tool, Atlas.ti., version 7.5. Through the findings, the study identified “Trust” appears critical in the accounts of the patients in shaping the doctor-patient relationship; with at least five interlocking sub-themes describing the health professional’s characteristic while giving the service. The sub-themes include doctor’s integrity, concern, competencies, empathy, and autonomy enabler. There are no gender differences detected in most of the sub-themes, except for doctor’s competency, and integrity. Barriers in language and communicating with patients cultural believe potentially moving away from the patients’ interest elsewhere for help seeking or diminishing the client’s compliance. The findings are consistent with previous studies whereby language and lacking in a cultural competence garner gender stereotype in treatment giving. Thus, trust in this context becomes the enabling or disabling factor for the patient to stay on in the treatment

The demographic profile of Malaysian is experiencing the major shifts and it has led to a new phenomenon emerged so called aged society. This new phenomenon has spawned into the public sector, as response to situation Malaysian government has taken action by increasing the legal retirement age from 58 to 60 years old. However, this age cohort usually had been perceived as economically non-productive and facing health problems by many, thus this action just provide an immediate form of solution rather a long-term determination. Due to that problem , a proper pension trajectory precautionary measure is significant for public retirees and strong ties of social networks is needed for maintaining their financial dependency. The sample will be chosen using census study and a set of questionnaire will be created based on the literatures to gain facts and observed variables . The expected outcome of this research is attempted to improve the existing model for pension trajectories precautionary for public retires and intends to provide new insight on relational data which could interpret the financial well-being of individuals. The finding of this research can be further studied by future researchers and academicians in improving financial wellbeing of pensioners thus can lead to better quality of life

This paper aims to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to examine the urban poor livelihood analysis through the lens of Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA) in Malaysia. SLA is a widely adopted framework for examining rural livelihoods globally and nationally, however, there are limited studies that have adopted the SLA to examine urban poor household livelihoods. Hence, this paper aims to fill a gap of knowledge on analysing sustainability of urban poor livelihoods in Malaysia. Adopting Transparent Reporting of Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses method known as PRISMA, the results of SLR revealed significant urban livelihood themes are financial, human, social and physical capitals. These findings help policymakers and local support groups in improving the current policies and to enhance the quality of life of the urban poor. This study aims to 1) identify and describe agencies’ role in helping psychiatric patients and 2) evaluate whether there is a synergy in building a concrete framework for the patients. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight mental health experts. The data were transcribed, and thematic analysis was performed using NVivo software. Findings revealed that empowering the patients was one of the strategies to assist them. Nevertheless, the multisectoral collaboration did not translate well within the aid networks despite the efforts by the government agencies to bridge their services to the patients. The compositions of followers and the intensity of citizenship behavior in teams have been a research interest of behavioral psychology. Team theory suggested interesting points to begin with; members of a team often think alike in an insight called 'mental model'. This mental model allows flow of communication and smooth continuation of task implementation. The fact is that, this mental model guides most members to think in a similar way and it is an advantage to task success. In order to have a good structure of mental model, teams have to understand each other's behavior, and so does the leaders. This may include understanding the type of followers that they are. Followership is a factor that drives organizational effectiveness. This research entails the relationships between followers' typology, conformity and organizational citizenship behavior. It involved 271 military men from two infantry units in Kedah, Malaysia. Data was collected at individual basis to project their followers' typology, conformity and OCB. Results indicated strong positive relationships between all hypothesized variables
