Free Speech and the Confluence of National Security and Internet Exceptionalism
In this Article, I argue that, notwithstanding these contemporary developments, the Court got it mostly right in Brandenburg. Or, I want to at least suggest that it is premature to reconstruct the Brandenburg test to address perceived changes in our global environment. For the most part, Brandenburg has succeeded in mediating the balance between protecting political or ideological advocacy and enabling the government to regulate actual incitement, even in the contemporary era. Moreover, I argue that society should be especially wary of calls to narrow Brandenburg’s speech-protective standard because such changes might be significantly influenced by the confluence of two forms of exceptionalism—national security exceptionalism and internet exceptionalism—both of which are continuing to evolve in real time. In development of this argument, this Article contains three parts
Study of the ablative effects on tektite
The tumbling and surface roughness effects on the trajectory of entry tektite are studied in both free molecular and continuum flows. It was concluded that, while surface roughness has negligible effect on trajectory, the tumbling may play an important role in tektite trajectory and the consequent ablation, provided the body shape is different from a sphere. A shape factor was a good parameter for correlations between body shape and tumbling effects
The finite-temperature thermodynamics of a trapped unitary Fermi gas within fractional exclusion statistics
We utilize a fractional exclusion statistics of Haldane and Wu hypothesis to
study the thermodynamics of a unitary Fermi gas trapped in a harmonic
oscillator potential at ultra-low finite temperature. The entropy per particle
as a function of the energy per particle and energy per particle versus
rescaled temperature are numerically compared with the experimental data. The
study shows that, except the chemical potential behavior, there exists a
reasonable consistency between the experimental measurement and theoretical
attempt for the entropy and energy per particle. In the fractional exclusion
statistics formalism, the behavior of the isochore heat capacity for a trapped
unitary Fermi gas is also analyzed.Comment: 6 pages, 6 figure
