Complications and treatment errors involving periodontal tissues related to orthodontic therapy.

In this review, typical clinical complications involving periodontal tissues are illustrated that can be encountered in conjunction with orthodontic therapy (OT). Special considerations are given for various clinical scenarios, such as the patient presenting in periodontal health, with periodontitis, or with mucogingival conditions. While some of the complications are seen as common side effects of OT, other, more severe, problems that could have been avoided may be viewed as treatment errors. Recommendations are made on how to prevent these complications, based on the currently available evidence, on clinical practice guidelines, and on expert opinion. In conclusion, while there are several areas in which OT can have unwanted adverse effects on periodontal/mucogingival conditions, there is also great potential for synergies, offering opportunities for close cooperation between the two specialties (periodontics and orthodontics) for the benefit of patients affected by tooth malpositioning and/or periodontal or mucogingival problems

Complications and treatment errors related to regenerative periodontal surgery.

Regenerative periodontal surgical procedures are an important component in the treatment of advanced periodontitis. They aim to improve the long-term prognosis of teeth that are periodontally compromised by the presence of intrabony and/or furcation defects, resulting biologically in formation of root cementum, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone and evidenced clinically by reduction of deep pockets to maintainable probing depths and/or improvements of vertical and horizontal furcation depth. Over the last 25 years, substantial clinical evidence has been accumulated to support the value of regenerative procedures in periodontally compromised dentitions. However, treatment success requires close attention to certain factors on the level of the patient, the tooth/defect, and the operator. Ignoring these factors in case selection, treatment planning, and treatment execution will increase the risk of complications that may jeopardize clinical success and may even be considered as treatment errors. Based on the currently available evidence from clinical practice guidelines, treatment algorithms, and on expert opinion, the present article provides an overview on the main factors, which influence the outcomes of regenerative periodontal surgery and gives recommendations on how to prevent complications and treatment errors

Unge Viser Vej – mobilitet og ungdomsuddannelser

Lange afstande og centraliseringer af uddannelser rammer de unges transport til uddannelsesstederne, derfor er der brug for at understøtte de unges mobilitet. I februar 2017 afholdt Movia et pilotprojekt i samarbejde med Region Sjælland, Holbæk og Odsherred kommune. På to temadage om mobilitet arbejdede 100 unge med at finde løsninger til forskellige transportudfordringer. Formålet var at samle viden og inspiration til udarbejdelsen af et undervisningsforløb, der giver kommunerne et værktøj til at forbedre transporten og mobiliteten til og fra uddannelse for unge, i et samarbejde med de unge selv. Til august afprøves et tilpasset undervisningsforløb som efterfølgende skal være tilgængeligt for kommuner og ungdomsuddannelser i hele landet og kan bruges på tværs af flere klasser og ungdomsuddannelser

Modelling and Simulation of a Network Management System using Hierarchical Coloured Petri Nets: Extended version

Development of distributed software systems is a complex task. This paper argues that design and specification can be supported by modelling and simulation using Hierarchical Coloured Petri Nets (CP-nets). This conclusion is based on a case study of a project in which CP-nets were used in the detailed design of a software module. The software module is part of the Network Management System of the RcPAX X.25 wide area network. The module was designed using the Design/CPN tool which allows editing and simulation of CP-nets. Benchmarking af Øresund som cykelregion

Inden for rammerne af Interreg IVA programmet om Cykling i Øresundsregionen er der foretaget både en intern benchmarking af byerne i Øresundsregionen og en ekstern benchmarking, hvor Øresundsregionen blev sammenlignet med udvalgte regioner i Holland og Tyskland. Cykel forholdene internt i Øresundsregionen er kortlagt gennem en beskrivende analyse af rejsevaner fra de nationale danske og svenske rejsevaneundersøgelser. For at få beskrevet kommunernes interne arbejde med cykeltrafik er der udsendt et spørgeskema. Resultaterne fra de to undersøgelser viser en høj grad af sammenlignelighed på tværs af sundet, både hvad angår cykelandele, og omfanget af de kommunale indsatser på området. Den eksterne benchmarking er endnu ikke afsluttet, men de foreløbige resultater viser nogle interessante forskelle i cykelandele. Hvor cykling i Øresundsregionen i høj grad er knyttet op på de større byer, er cyklingen i de udvalgte regioner i hverken Holland eller Tyskland bundet op på bystørrelsen, her cykler alle lige meget uanset om de bor i byerne eller på landet
