Scaling Behavior of Ricci Curvature at Short Distance near Two Dimensions
We study the renormalization of the Ricci curvature as an example of
generally covariant operators in quantum gravity near two dimensions. We find
that it scales with a definite scaling dimension at short distance. The Ricci
curvature singularity at the big bang can be viewed as such a scaling
phenomenon. The problem of the spacetime singularity may be resolved by the
scale invariance of the spacetime at short distance.Comment: 9pages, LaTe
Relationship Between Student Characteristics and Handwashing Habit with Worm Disease Incidence in Islamic Boarding School Blitar District
Worm disease incidence in islamic boarding school can be influenced by student characteristics and handwashing habit. Student characteristics were cocidered into age and lived period in islamic boarding school. Hand washing were seen from handwashing habit before ate and after defecation. Purpose of this study was to analyze relationship between student characteristics and handwashing habit with worm disease incidence in islamic boarding school. This study was observational analytic study with cross sectional design. Student characteristics and handwashing habit data were obtained questionnaires by 71 students. Worm disease incidence was known from laboratory testing of student feces. Worm disease incidence in islamic boarding school were 2.8% with worm species were Enterobius vermicularis and Hookworm. Results of data collection were analyzed using Chi Square test with value of α = 0.05. Student characteristics showed most student was 16 years old and live in boarding school for 1 year. Hand washing habit student islamoc boarding school before eating was bad and after defecation was good. There was a relationship between live period in islamic boarding school (p = 0.016), handwashing habit before eating (p = 0.008) and after defecation (p = 0.018) with worm disease incidence. There was no relationship between age and worm disease incidence (p = 0.205). Student islamic boarding school should improve handwashing habit before eating and after defecation used soap and running water
Alternatively activated macrophages promote pancreatic fibrosis in chronic pancreatitis.
Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is a progressive and irreversible inflammatory and fibrotic disease with no cure. Unlike acute pancreatitis (AP), we find that alternatively activated macrophages (AAMs) are dominant in mouse and human CP. AAMs are dependent on interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 signalling, and we show that mice lacking IL-4Rα, myeloid-specific IL-4Rα and IL-4/IL-13 were less susceptible to pancreatic fibrosis. Furthermore, we demonstrate that mouse and human pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) are a source of IL-4/IL-13. Notably, we show that pharmacologic inhibition of IL-4/IL-13 in human ex vivo studies as well as in established mouse CP decreases pancreatic AAMs and fibrosis. We identify a critical role for macrophages in pancreatic fibrosis and in turn PSCs as important inducers of macrophage-alternative activation. Our study challenges and identifies pathways involved in crosstalk between macrophages and PSCs that can be targeted to reverse or halt pancreatic fibrosis progression
On the rough Gronwall lemma and its applications
We present a rough path analog of the classical Gronwall Lemma introduced
recently by A. Deya, M. Gubinelli, M. Hofmanov\'a, S. Tindel in
[arXiv:1604.00437] and discuss two of its applications. First, it is applied in
the framework of rough path driven PDEs in order to establish energy estimates
for weak solutions. Second, it is used in order to prove uniqueness for
reflected rough differential equations
A 6.0-mW 10.0-Gb/s Receiver With Switched-Capacitor Summation DFE
A low-power receiver with a one-tap decision feedback equalization (DFE) was fabricated in 90-nm CMOS technology. The speculative equalization is performed using switched-capacitor-based addition at the front-end sample-hold circuit. In order to further reduce the power consumption, an analog multiplexer is used in the speculation technique implementation. A quarter-rate-clocking scheme facilitates the use of low-power front-end circuitry and CMOS clock buffers. The receiver was tested over channels with different levels of ISI. The signaling rate with BER<10^-12 was significantly increased with the use of DFE for short- to medium-distance PCB traces. At 10-Gb/s data rate, the receiver consumes less than 6.0 mW from a 1.0-V supply. This includes the power consumed in all quarter-rate clock buffers, but not the power of a clock recovery loop. The input clock phase and the DFE taps are adjusted externally
Towards a Non-Perturbative Renormalization of Euclidean Quantum Gravity
A real space renormalization group technique, based on the hierarchical
baby-universe structure of a typical dynamically triangulated manifold, is used
to study scaling properties of 2d and 4d lattice quantum gravity. In 4d, the
-function is defined and calculated numerically. An evidence for the
existence of an ultraviolet stable fixed point of the theory is presentedComment: 12 pages Latex + 1 PS fi
