    En el presente estudio de investigación, se analizó la incidencia de la administración de recursos humanos en el desempeño laboral de los trabajadores del instituto politécnico Estelí en el primer semestre del año 2016, la cual describe el proceso que se utiliza para evaluar el personal. Posteriormente, se identificó el método de evaluación que se utilizan actualmente en la facultad con el fin de realizar una comparación entre la teoría y la práctica. Generalmente la función de recursos humanos está compuesta por áreas tales como el reclutamiento y selección, contratación capacitación, administración y gestión del personal durante la permanencia en la empresa. Al final del documento se encuentran las conclusiones y recomendaciones, las cuales permitirán a la facultad tomarlas en cuenta para mejora continua en la incidencia de la administración de recurso humano, donde la información fue encontrada en libros, páginas web, revistas, entre otras información de mucha importancia.     Measuring the Complexity of Consciousness

    The quest for a scientific description of consciousness has given rise to new theoretical and empirical paradigms for the investigation of phenomenological contents as well as clinical disorders of consciousness. An outstanding challenge in the field is to develop measures that uniquely quantify global brain states tied to consciousness. In particular, information-theoretic complexity measures such as integrated information have recently been proposed as measures of conscious awareness. This suggests a new framework to quantitatively classify states of consciousness. However, it has proven increasingly difficult to apply these complexity measures to realistic brain networks. In part, this is due to high computational costs incurred when implementing these measures on realistically large network dimensions. Nonetheless, complexity measures for quantifying states of consciousness are important for assisting clinical diagnosis and therapy. This article is meant to serve as a lookup table of measures of consciousness, with particular emphasis on clinical applicability of these measures. We consider both, principle-based complexity measures as well as empirical measures tested on patients. We address challenges facing these measures with regard to realistic brain networks, and where necessary, suggest possible resolutions.Comment: 9 page

    Phase II study of TP300 in patients with advanced gastric or gastro-oesophageal junction adenocarcinoma

    Background: TP300, a recently developed synthetic camptothecin analogue, is a highly selective topoisomerase I inhibitor. A phase I study showed good safety and tolerability. As camptothecins have proven active in oesophago-gastric adenocarcinomas, in this phase II study we assessed the efficacy and safety of TP300 in patients with gastric or gastro-oesophageal junction (GOJ) adenocarcinomas. Methods: Eligible patients had metastatic or locally advanced gastric or Siewert Types II or III GOJ inoperable adenocarcinoma. Patients were chemotherapy naïve unless this had been administered in the perioperative setting. TP300 was administered as a 1-h intravenous infusion every 3 weeks (a cycle) for up to 6 cycles at a starting dose of 8 mg/m2 with intra-patient escalation to 10 mg/m2 from cycle 2 in the absence of dose-limiting toxicity. Tumour responses (RECIST 1.1) were assessed every 6 weeks. Toxicity was recorded by NCI-CTCAE version 3.0. Using a modified two-stage Simon design (Stage I and II), a total of 43 patients were to be included providing there were 3 of 18 patients with objective response in Stage I of the study. Results: In Stage I of the study 20 patients (14 males, 6 females), median age 67 years (range 40 − 82), performance status ECOG 0/1, with GC [14] or GOJ carcinoma [6] were enrolled. Of the 16 evaluable patients, 11 received the planned dose increase to 10 mg/m2 at cycle 2, 2 decreased to 6 mg/m2, and 3 continued on 8 mg/m2. There were no objective responses after 2 cycles of treatment. Twelve patients had stable disease for 1 − 5 months and 4 had progressive disease. Median progression free survival (PFS) was 4.1 months (CI [1.6 − 4.9]), median time to progression (TTP) was 2.9 months (CI [1.4 − 4.2]). Grade 3/4 toxicities (worst grade all cycles) included 7 patients (35 %) with neutropenia, 4 patients (20 %) with anaemia, 2 patients (10 %) with thrombocytopenia, and 3 patients (15 %) with fatigue. This study was terminated at the end of Stage I due to a lack of the required (3/18) responders. Conclusions: This study of TP300 showed good drug tolerability but it failed to demonstrate sufficient efficacy as measured by radiological response

    The SS-520 is a two-stage solid fueled sounding rocket, designed to carry research payloads on sub-orbital missions to altitudes of 1000km (100kg). ISAS/JAXA has modified with the addition of a small third stage and a minimum of attitude control system to insert a 3U-class of small satellite into a low Earth orbit .This 3-staged launch vehicle\u27s specification is 9.54m length, 0.52m diameter and 2.6t of Gross mass at launch. In January 2018, SS-520-5 was launched with CubeSat (TRICOM-1R) after the launch failure one year before. The launch this time was in good shape, and the satellite was inserted into planned orbit.     Panretinal Photocoagulation Using Short-Pulse Laser Induces Less Inflammation and Macular Thickening in Patients with Diabetic Retinopathy

    We compared the effect of panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) using short-pulse laser (SPL) and conventional laser, regardless of the number of spots, in terms of their effect on the progression of diabetic macular edema (DME) and anterior flare intensity (AFI) in patients with high-risk nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (non-PDR). Forty-two eyes of 42 patients were subjected to PRP using the conventional argon laser (Conv group) or SPL (SPL group). CRT and AFI levels in the SPL group were significantly lower than those in the Conv group (CRT at 4, 6, and 10 weeks; AFI at 6, 10, and 18 weeks). Eyes of rabbits were photocoagulated using conventional laser with 500 spots (Conv 500s), SPL with 500 spots (SPL 500s), or 1000 spots (SPL 1000s). Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), interleukin-6 (IL-6), intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) levels in vitreous humor were measured using an immunoassay. Compared to conventional laser, VEGF, IL-6, and MCP-1 levels were significantly lower in the SPL 1000s and SPL 500s groups. In patients with high-risk non-PDR, SPL has a greater preventive effect on the progression of DME and AFI and produces less inflammatory cytokines than conventional lasers
