The risk of contracting Ebola virus and its prevention

Publikacja recenzowana / Peer-reviewed publicationEbola is a severe, acute viral disease, characterized by the sudden onset of fever, vomiting, and profuse diarrhoea, leading to severe dehydration, haemorrhagic diathesis, signifi cant blood loss, shock, often with a fatal outcome. The disease is transmitted by either direct contact with blood or other bodily fl uids of live or deceased infected people. Transmission may also occur by unprotected sexual contact or by direct contact with the blood or body fl uids of animals. Before 2013, the maximum number of infected people in a single outbreak of Ebola was 425. This fi gure was signifi cantly exceeded during the largest wave of Ebola that began in December 2013 in West Africa. The epidemiological situation is being closely monitored by the states of the European Union. The World Health Organization has issued recommendations for travellers to countries aff ected by the Ebola virus

Comparison of business environment in Czech Republic and Slovakia

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu a následnou detailní komparaci podnikatelského prostředí na Slovensku a v České republice. Úvodní kapitoly jsou věnovány teoretickému vymezení základních pojmů a přiblížení metodologických východisek, které budou později v práci využity. Následně jsou v praktické části práce analyzovány a porovnány jednotlivá specifika blízko související s podnikáním, konkrétně daňové systémy, postup založení podnikání a také systémy podpory podnikání. Finálně je podnikatelské prostředí obou ekonomik jako celek porovnáváno pomocí PEST analýzy, publikací mezinárodních organizací a práce vyústí do vlastní multikriteriální analýzy na základě subjektivně zvolených kritérií.Diploma thesis is focused on analysis and further comparison of business environment in Slovakia and Czech Republic. Introductory chapters are devoted to the theoretical characteristic of main terms and to the description of methodological basis, which will be later used in the work. Consequently, particular specific areas closely connected to business, specifically tax systems, conditions for starting a business and business support systems are analyzed and compared. Finally, business environment of both economies is compared as a whole by PEST analysis, publications of international organizations and work results into own multi-criteria analysis based on subjectively selected criteria.Diplomová práca sa zameriava na analýzu a následnú detailnú komparáciu podnikateľského prostredia na Slovensku a v Českej republike. Úvodné kapitoly sú venované teoretickému vymedzeniu základných pojmov a priblíženiu metodologickým východísk, ktoré budú neskôr v práci využité. Následne sú v praktickej časti práce analyzované a porovnané jednotlivé špecifiká blízko súvisiace s podnikaním, konkrétne daňové systémy, postup založenia podnikania a takisto systémy podpory podnikania. Finálne je celkové podnikateľské prostredie oboch ekonomík ako celok porovnávané pomocou PEST analýzy, publikácií medzinárodných organizácií a práca vyústi do vlastnej multikriteriálnej analýzy na základe subjektívne zvolených kritérií

The bachelor thesis deals with the fundamental issues of microfinancial sector, describes the birth of the field, priciples of working and defines concrete social benefit for population of the world's poorest regions. Field of interest is also focused on the determination of the main problems of microfinance as well, like high operating costs, lack of regulatory frameworks or an excessive profit greed of investors. The paper continually emphasizes considerable differences between microfinancial and banking sector as well. The significant part is focused on key subjects of the microfinancial market- non-profit and profit microfinancial institutions, which work compares and eventually analyses their efficiency
