    Objective: This study aimed to analyze pesticide contents in potato and tomato samples.Methods: In the present study, we determined the presence of the pesticides fenpropathrin, lambda-cyhalothrin, and chlorothalonil in conventionaland organic potatoes and tomatoes using a gas chromatograph equipped with an electron capture detector and validated the associated methods.Acetone-based extraction was performed using the Dutch mini-Luke method with minimal weights and volumes.Results: Validation tests showed a range of 70–120% and precision of ≤20%, and linearity tests on the three standard pesticides gave r values of≥0.9990 for all three pesticides. Limit of detection and limit of quantitation values showed high sensitivity, although in vegetable sample analyses,none of the three pesticides were detected.Conclusion: Our data show that the chosen method for analysis of the pesticides fenpropathrin, lambda-cyhalothrin, and chlorothalonil in potatoesand tomatoes is valid and that the marketed potatoes and tomatoes meet the SNI 7313: 2008 standard for Maximum Limits of Pesticide Residues onAgricultural Products†and the associated Japanese standard

    Instagram is the first largest social media in the world with a total of 26,9 billion active users in 2020. In Indonesia alone, several new phenomena such as endorsement and paid promotion have been carried out by celebrities famous for Instagram. This study aims to analyze the motivations behind endorsement of both the brand and the party itself. And the effect of endorsement on followers. The study was conducted on one of the celebrities with their @rachelvennya account. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. And the data collection methods used in this research are interviews, documentation studies and literacy studies. The results in this study indicate that with the emergence of new media such as Instagram, the rise of celebrities is used as a tool to market products from online stores. Where this endorsement phenomenon arises because of the appropriate reciprocity between endorsement service users and also with endorsers. Celebrities who become opinion leaders succeed in making Instagram followers interested in what they are marketing on Instagram stories

    Background: The mechanism and pathogenesis of COVID-19 that distinguishes asymptomatic, mild, moderate, severe to critical symptoms is not yet known with certainty. Endothelial dysfunction and immune thrombosis serve as a profound pathogenic mechanism in COVID-19. Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1 (VCAM-1) is a major regulator of leukocyte adhesion that contributes to the formation of thrombosis. The purpose of the study determine the relationship between VCAM-1 level with the severity degree in COVID-19 patients. Methods: An analytical study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from September – March 2022. This study was followed by 50 patients aged over 18 years with moderate, severe, and critical degrees of COVID-19 admitted to Haji Adam Malik General Hospital Medan by excluding malignancy and pregnancy patients. Serum VCAM-1 levels were measured using Chemwell Analyzer.  Results: Among 50 patients, 33 patients (66%) were male and 17 patients (34%) were female. The mean age was 57 years with the youngest 19 years old and the oldest 81 years old. The median level of VCAM-1 was 23,02 ng/mL (10.96 ng/mL - 50.63 ng/mL). The median concentration of VCAM-1 was 37.85 ng/mL (15,59 – 50.63), 36.68 ng/mL (19.58 – 49.71), and 18.83 ng/mL (10.96 – 46.32) for critical, severe, and moderate degree respectively (p = 0.001). The cut-off value of VCAM-1 levels to predict the severity of COVID-19 is 32.01 ng/mL. Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between VCAM-1 levels and the severity of COVID-19

    This research project qualitatively explores how teachers address social-emotional learning and how educators understand and implement SEL and art therapy in early education. This research aimed to explore how art therapy theories can support teachers in their efforts to create socially and emotionally competent early education classrooms. Data collected included anonymous surveys from current kindergarten through third-grade teachers. Through data analysis, several findings suggest that art therapists, mental health practitioners, and teachers can benefit from collaboration in increasing access and training with SEL practices. These findings open new doors for further inquiry into art therapy and SEL

    A Successful Management of 29 year old Female with Left Central Retinal Artery Occlusion due to Manifestation of Primary Antiphospholipid Syndrome

    Ocular involvement in Anti Phospolipid Syndrome (APS) includes a broad spectrum of manifestations from the anterior and posterior segment or the presence of neuro-ophthalmologic features. A female, 29 years old, came to ER handled by ophthalmology department, with chief complaint left visual loss suddenly since 4 hours before admission. Investigations revealed stable vital signs, VOD 20/20, VOS 1/300, funduscopy showedpale and cherry red spot on left retina, OCT revealed hyperreflective of left inner retinal layer, IgG aCL 51.7 U/mL (50.8 U/mL in OPD 3 months later), and the other examinations were within normal limit. Patient was diagnosed with Central Retinal Artery Occlusion due toPrimary Antiphospolipid syndrome. She was performed occular massage and anterior chamber paracintesis procedure, and given O2 6-8 lpm NRBM, Timolol 0.5% eye drop left eye bid, acetazolamide 250 mg bid, Kalium Slow Release 1 tab qd, Levofloxacine eye drop 1 drop/hour post surgery. After the result of IgM aCL available, we added warfarin 2 mg qd and aspirin 320 mg qd. Patient was discharged 2 days later as visual acuity improved with VOD 20/20 and VOS 0.5/60.     AbstractThe neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCLs, Batten disease) are a group of fatal recessively inherited neurodegenerative diseases of humans and animals characterised by common clinical signs and pathology. These include blindness, ataxia, dementia, behavioural changes, seizures, brain and retinal atrophy and accumulation of fluorescent lysosome derived organelles in most cells. A number of different variants have been suggested and seven different causative genes identified in humans (CLN1, CLN2, CLN3, CLN5, CLN6, CLN8 and CTSD). Animal models have played a central role in the investigation of this group of diseases and are extremely valuable for developing a better understanding of the disease mechanisms and possible therapeutic approaches. Ovine models include flocks of affected New Zealand South Hampshires and Borderdales and Australian Merinos. The ovine CLN6 gene has been sequenced in a representative selection of these sheep. These investigations unveiled the mutation responsible for the disease in Merino sheep (c.184C>T; p.Arg62Cys) and three common ovine allelic variants (c.56A>G, c.822G>A and c.933_934insCT). Linkage analysis established that CLN6 is the gene most likely to cause NCL in affected South Hampshire sheep, which do not have the c.184C>T mutation but show reduced expression of CLN6 mRNA in a range of tissues as determined by real-time PCR. Lack of linkage precludes CLN6 as a candidate for NCL in Borderdale sheep

    Repeated 24-hour recalls versus dietary records for estimating nutrient intakes in a national food consumption survey

    The methodology used in the first Belgian food consumption survey followed to a large extent the instructions of the European Food Consumption (EFCOSUM) reports, where repeated 24-hour recalls (24HR) using EPIC-SOFT were recommended.To evaluate the relative validity of two non-consecutive 24HR using EPIC-SOFT by comparison with 5-day estimated dietary records (EDR). To assess misreporting in energy for both methods by comparing energy intake with energy expenditure from accelerometery in a subsample.A total of 175 subjects (aged 15 and over) were recruited to participate in the study. Repeated 24HR were performed with an interval of 2–8 weeks. After completion of the second interview, subjects were instructed to keep an EDR. Dietary intakes were adjusted for within-person variability to reflect usual intakes. A Student's t-test was calculated to assess differences between both methods. Spearman and Kappa correlation coefficients were used to investigate agreement.In total, 127 subjects completed the required repeated 24HR, as well as the five record days. From 76 participants, accelerometer data were available. In both methods, about 35% of participants had ratios of Energy Intake/Total Energy Expenditure (EI/TEE) above or below 95% confidence intervals for EI/TEE, suggesting misreporting of energy. Significant differences between the two dietary intake methods were found for total energy, total fat, fatty acids, cholesterol, alcohol, vitamin C, thiamine, riboflavin and iron. In general, intakes from 24HR were higher compared to EDR. Correlation coefficients for all nutrients ranged from 0.16 for thiamine to 0.70 for water.The results from this study show that in the context of nutritional surveillance, duplicate 24HR can be used to asses intakes of protein, carbohydrates, starch, sugar, water, potassium and calcium

    The PEER Collaborative: Supporting Engineering Education Research Faculty with Near-peer Mentoring Unconference Workshops

    The PEER Collaborative National Network is a national peer mentoring network for early career tenure-track or mid-career tenured faculty who conduct and are primarily evaluated based on their research related to engineering education. This paper discusses the development, logistics, and outcomes of two PEER workshops built around a community of practice framework. Data from internal and external evaluations are presented to provide insights into aspects that worked well and aspects that need further development. Additionally, by reflecting on the workshops, participants crafted vignettes describing the impact the PEER workshops had on their personal and professional lives. The paper concludes with a discussion on the future of PEER (and potential spin-off groups from the PEER cohorts), and the changes that will be made in future workshops. Recommendations are provided for other organizers interested in developing successful “near peer” groups to address specific community needs
