    Synthesis of metakaolin alkali based geopolymer for Hydrogen adsorption study

    Hydrogen is not only an energy carrier but it’s also one of the substituting source that can be replace fossil fuels. Therefore possible adsorbent extensively being tested for better hydrogen adsorption. Recently, there are researches on hydrogen storage by using developed materials such as complex hydride, carbon nanotubes, zeolites and alloy metal. Geopolymer is proposed as a potential adsorbent due to economically and environmental friendly properties and lower cost compared to other developed materials and also derived from industrial waste. Thus, the scope of the hydrogen storage is wide, the author has narrowed down his study on hydrogen adsorption by using synthesized metakaolin alkali based geopolymer. Different molarity of alkali activator of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) of 8M, 10M and 12M were used to synthesis raw material of metakaolin in order to find which one is the best parameter for hydrogen adsorption uptake. Result shown that hydrogen adsorption on least molarity of alkali activator (8M), it adsorbs about 1.34 weight percentage though slightly lower than alkali activator of 12M which has about 1.49 weight percent. In nutshell, as molarity of the alkali activator (NaOH) increases, the hydrogen adsorption (wt%) also increases

    ABSTRACT: Collaborative tagging is one of the most popular services available in social networks, and it allows user to classify either online or offline resources based on their feedback, deliver in the form of tags. Although tags may not be secret information the wide use of collaborative tagging services increases the risk, thereby seriously compromising user privacy. In this paper, we make a contribution towards the development of a privactivey-preserving collaborative tagging service, by showing how a specific privacy-enhancing technology, namely tag suppression, can be used to protect end-user privacy.In most group key management protocols, group members are authenticated by the group leader "one by one."     Evaluation of uroprotective efficacy of amifostine against cyclophosphamide induced hemorrhagic cystitis

    The role of amifostine in the prevention of cyclophosphamide-induced hemorrhagic cystitis (HC) was evaluated in the rat model. Urinary bladders from control rats that received no drugs (group I) were compared with those from rats receiving cyclophosphamide alone at a dose of 150 mg/kg (group II), and two other groups receiving amifostine at 100 mg/kg (group III) and 200 mg/kg (group IV), 15 min prior to cyclophosphamide. Bladders were assessed macroscopically and histologically at 24 h and after 7 days. All the animals that received cyclophosphamide alone developed severe HC. On the basis of the scores of macroscopic and histologic changes, animals that received amifostine showed excellent uroprotection. Only 2/6 rats in group III and 1/6 rats in group IV developed mild HC at 24 h. None of the rats in either of these groups showed any evidence of HC at 7 days. It is concluded that amifostine protects the urothelium against cyclophosphamide-induced HC

    A Performance-Based Scenario Methodology to Assess Collaborative Networks Business Model Dynamicity

    [EN] In today's business marketplace many enterprises collaborate forming a collaborative network (CN) in order to achieve competitive and sustainable advantages. In this context, CNs should have not only well-defined business models but also mechanisms and tools that help them out to assess such business models as well as other CN operations at their early stages. Due to shorter life-cycles and to the current fierce competition such an evaluation should be made as quickly as possible and analyzing real data rather than based on opinions and subjective judgments. This paper presents the application of a methodology that allows such an assessment as well as the generation of business scenarios based on the performance of the CN. Then, it first defines the appropriate CN key performance indicators (KPIs), gathering data for a certain time-period; then, it applies multivariate techniques to this data, identifying relationships between the KPIs, and being able to build the timely evolution of the CN based on this data; next, it is able to design a business scenario based on the timely evolution that the CN should have according to its business models and operations results achieved so far.     Characterization of the domestic goat γδ T cell receptor gene loci and gene usage

    Goats and cattle diverged 30 million years ago but retain similarities in immune system genes. Here, the caprine T cell receptor (TCR) gene loci and transcription of its genes were examined and compared to cattle. We annotated the TCR loci using an improved genome assembly (ARS1) of a highly homozygous San Clemente goat. This assembly has already proven useful for describing other immune system genes including antibody and leucocyte receptors. Both the TCRγ (TRG) and TCRδ (TRD) loci were similarly organized in goats as in cattle and the gene sequences were highly conserved. However, the number of genes varied slightly as a result of duplications and differences occurred in mutations resulting in pseudogenes. WC1+ γδ T cells in cattle have been shown to use TCRγ genes from only one of the six available cassettes. The structure of that Cγ gene product is unique and may be necessary to interact with WC1 for signal transduction following antigen ligation. Using RT-PCR and PacBio sequencing, we observed the same restriction for goat WC1+ γδ T cells. In contrast, caprine WC1+ and WC1− γδ T cell populations had a diverse TCRδ gene usage although the propensity for particular gene usage differed between the two cell populations. Noncanonical recombination signal sequences (RSS) largely correlated with restricted expression of TCRγ and δ genes. Finally, caprine γδ T cells were found to incorporate multiple TRD diversity gene sequences in a single transcript, an unusual feature among mammals but also previously observed in cattle
