El concepto de transversalidad en la enunciación del género cinematográfico

Este artículo pretende mostrar una pequeña revisión del concepto de género y la evolución que conlleva el término centrando el mismo sobre el género del western. Se partió de una metodología cualitativa, en donde el estudio de contenido de diversas películas ha llevado a constatar la evidente transversalidad que ha ido presentando a lo largo de los años. Revisión de la definición del concepto genérico, a la evolución del mismo, hasta llegar a una evidente mezcla trasversal o colateral con otros géneros. Como consecuencia se constata la convivencia entre géneros horizontales y géneros transversales.This article aims to show a small review of the concept of gender and the evolution that leads to the term focusing it on the western genre. Analysis of the quark sector in the 2HDM-III with a four-zero Yukawa texture using the most recent data on the CKM matrix

In this letter we analyse, in the context of the general 2-Higgs Doublet Model, the structure of the Yukawa matrices, $\widetilde{ \bf Y}_{ _{1,2} }^{q}$, by assuming a four-zero texture ansatz for their definition. In this framework, we obtain compact expressions for $\widetilde{ \bf Y}_{ _{1,2} }^{q}$, which are reduced to the Cheng and Sher ansatz with the difference that they are obtained naturally as a direct consequence of the invariants of the fermion mass matrices. Furthermore, in order to avoid large flavour violating effects coming from charged Higgs exchange, we consider the main flavour constraints on the off-diagonal terms of Yukawa texture {{$\left( \widetilde{\chi}_{j}^q \right)_{kl}$}} ($k\neq l$). We perform a $\chi^2$-fit based on current experimental data on the quark masses and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa mixing matrix ${ \bf V}_{\rm CKM }$. Hence, we obtain the allowed ranges for the parameters $\widetilde{ \bf Y}_{ _{1,2} }^{q}$ at 1$\sigma$ for several values of $\tan \beta$. The results are in complete agreement with the bounds obtained taking into account constraints on Flavour Changing Neutral Currents reported in the literature.Comment: 12 pages, 1 figure. Multiclassifier Systems for Predicting Neurological Outcome of Patients with Severe Trauma and Polytrauma in Intensive Care Units

[EN]This paper presents an ensemble based classification proposal for predicting neurological outcome of severely traumatized patients. The study comprises both the whole group of patients and a subgroup containing those patients suffering traumatic brain injury (TBI). Data was gathered from patients hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the University Hospital in Salamanca. Predictive models were induced from both epidemiologic and clinical variables taken at the emergency room and along the stay in the ICU. The large number of variables leads to a low accuracy in the classifiers even when feature selection methods are used. In addition, the presence of a much larger number of instances of one of the classes in the subgroup of TBI patients produces a significantly lesser precision for the minority class

Animal Response and Economic Impact of Tree Inclusion in a Livestock System

A study was conducted at the Roberto Rodríguez CCS (Credit and Services Cooperative), in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, province of Camagüey, Cuba, to evaluate the animal response and economic impact of the inclusion of trees in a livestock system under the local edaphoclimatic conditions. The productive performance of animals and the forest system were evaluated, and their economic impact was determined. The mean and SE was determined as well. The results were compared using a T-student test for P < 0.05, in order to evaluate animal response in the two systems. The results indicated the superiority of the forest grazing system over the traditional system. It was concluded that the forest-grazing system increased animal productivity and contributed with additional benefits in terms of forestry. The forest-grazing system had a greater economic impact than the traditional system

These functions are expedited by Rho GEFs that stimulate the release of GDP to enable GTP binding, thereby allowing Rho proteins to initiate intracellular signaling. How Rho GEFs and Rho GTPases protect cells from DNA damage is unknown. Here, we explore the extreme sensitivity of a deletion mutation in the Rho1p exchange factor Rgf1p to the DNA break/inducing antibiotic phleomycin (Phl). The Rgf1p mutant cells are defective in reentry into the cell cycle following the induction of severe DNA damage. This phenotype correlates with the inability of rgf1Δ cells to efficiently repair fragmented chromosomes after Phl treatment. Consistent with this observation Rad11p (ssDNA binding protein, RPA), Rad52p, Rad54p and Rad51p, which facilitate strand invasion in the process of homology-directed repair (HDR), are permanently stacked in Phl-induced foci in rgf1Δ cells. These phenotypes are phenocopied by genetic inhibition of Rho1p. Our data provide evidence that Rgf1p/Rho1p activity positively controls a repair function that confers resistance against the anti-cancer drug Phl.CICYT, Spain [BFU2011-24683/BMC]; Junta de Castilla y León [SA073U14]. Morpho-syntactic variations in English and Spanish clipped words: a contrastive study

Clipping and linguistic variation are inexorably interconnected. Shortened or elliptical words reflect a great deal of variability of the language, especially in the morphological and phonological levels. The object of this study is precisely to explore the phono-graphemic and grammatical variations occurred in the visible changes undergone by clipped words in Spanish and English. A contrastive analysis of this type reveals both expectedly different correspondences in terms of gender and number, and surprisingly parallel lexico-syntactic features. This suggests that clipped or elliptical units are not only necessarily dependent on intrinsic morpho-grammatical and phonological traits, but they are also characterized by regularities and universal patterns that might show disruptive or “corrupted” constructs. This analysis confirms the peculiarities of clipping and linguistic variations in both languages, in an attempt to comprehend the interconnection between functional motivations, and morphological and phonological changes

La universitat actual ha de qüestionar el seu objecte i sentit per adequar-se als nous reptes que la societat global li exigeix. Aquest debat afecta el què, el com i el per a què han de produir-se modificacions del que hi era una tradició, i com afecten aquests canvis als docents investigadors i alumnes, sobretot pel que fa a què han d'aprendre -sentit del coneixement-, en què i com han de modificar la seva pràctica i, consegüentment, quina formació és necessària per a adquirir o millorar les seves competències professionals i les seves qualitats personals. Les directrius emeses per l'European Association of Quality Assurance in Higher Education -ENQA- (2005) són un punt de partida, però insuficients quan en la universitat espanyola falta una carrera professional dels docents investigadors.La Universidad actual tiene que cuestionar su objeto y sentido para adecuarse a los nuevos retos que la sociedad global le exige. Este debate afecta al qué, cómo y para qué deben producirse modificaciones de lo que en ella era una tradición, y cómo afectan estos cambios a los docentes investigadores y alumnos, sobre todo en cuanto a qué deben aprender -sentido del conocimiento-, en qué y cómo han de modificar su práctica y, consecuentemente, qué formación es necesaria para adquirir o mejorar sus competencias profesionales y sus cualidades personales.
