The QCD Pomeron in Ultraperipheral Heavy Ion Collisions: IV. Photonuclear Production of Vector Mesons
The photonuclear production of vector mesons in ultraperipheral heavy ion
collisions is investigated within the QCD color dipole picture, with particular
emphasis on the saturation model. The integrated cross section and the rapidity
distribution for the A + A --> V + A + A (V = rho, omega, phi, J/Psi) process
are computed and theoretical estimates for scattering on both light and heavy
nuclei are given for energies of RHIC and LHC. A comparison with the recent
STAR data on coherent production of rho mesons is also presented. Furthermore,
we calculate the photoproduction of vector mesons in proton-proton collisions
at RHIC, Tevatron and LHC energies.Comment: 19 pages, 6 figures and 2 tables. Version to be published in Eur.

The QCD Pomeron in Ultraperipheral Heavy Ion Collisions: V. Double Vector Meson Production in the BFKL Approach
In this work the double vector meson production in ultraperipheral heavy ion
collisions is investigated within the BFKL approach. The integrated cross
sections and event rates for the processes AA --> V1 V2 AA (V_i = rho, omega,
phi, J/Psi, Upsilon) are computed and theoretical estimates for scattering on
both light and heavy nuclei are given for energies of RHIC and LHC.Comment: 10 pages, 1 figure. Version to be published in the European Physical

Changes of perspective introduced by Rousseau in educational practice
This paper is an attempt to discuss Rousseau’s ideas on educational practice through his book, Emile, arguably one of the most noteworthy books on education available today. Rousseau makes an effort to describe an approach to education based on nature, emphasizing harmony and a strong concern for the child. Such concepts are fundamental in Rousseau’s ideas, which would later impact child development theories of Werner, Pestalozzi, Herbert, Piaget and Vygotsky, albeit with different results and related theories.http://www.aijssnet.com/journals/Vol_2_No_1_January_2013/10.pdfPublished versio
Impact of emerging and frontier economies on global markets
The emerging markets have been the source of global economic growth for quite some time now, with far-reaching effects to the rest of the world, in particular to advanced economies. It is not news that emerging markets have become the sweethearts of the financial press and a favorite talking point of governments, foreign trade advisors, and corporations worldwide. Although these markets were best known in the past as a commodity paradise, or the place to go for natural resources, cheap labor, or low manufacturing costs, emerging markets today are positioned for growth. This paper argues that rapid population development, growing middle-class, and sustained economic development is making many international investors and corporations look to emerging markets with new lenses, with substantial impact on advanced economies and the world as a whole.https://www.researchgate.net/publication/309676049_Impact_of_Emerging_and_Frontier_Economies_on_Global_MarketsSupporting documentatio

The great Dr. Samuel Johnson
Almost 230 years ago, the world lost Dr. Johnson, as Samuel Johnson was known, a man of all seasons. Johnson was not only a British writer who made lasting contributions to English literature as a poet, essayist, moralist, literary critic, and biographer; he was also an editor and lexicographer extraordinaire. But he has always been remembered, with the help of his biographer James Boswell, for the greatness of spirit, mind, character, conduct, and art. Such is his great magnanimity, his piety, and eloquence, so overwhelmingly obvious and affecting to those who know his writings, that it is with some difficulty that I write about him, as opposed to quoting from him. Although English is not my first language, I have tremendous respect and admiration for Johnson, probably passed on to me by one of my favorite professors in graduate school at Boston University, Dr. Aeschliman.https://www.researchgate.net/publication/292800062_The_great_Dr_Samuel_JohnsonPublished versionPublished versio

The Internet as a catalyst for business internationalization in Africa
A lot of African internet-based MNEs have adopted an international marketing approach called glocalization – which describes products or services that are developed and distributed globally, but have also been customized to fit the local environment.Published versio
