Neuropharmacological characteristics of antidepressant action of a new 3-substituted thietane-1,1-dioxide derivative

    Get PDF
Due to severe burden of depressive disorders and a low rate of remission in patients receiving antidepressant therapy, there is an urgent need for developing novel agents with antidepressant action and a fundamentally new mechanism of action. 3-ethoxythietane-1,1-dioxide (N-199/1) is a new molecule that showed significant antidepressant properties when administered intraperitoneally once or repeatedly. The aim of the present study was to investigate the mechanism of action of N-199/1, using reserpine tes

Based on the results of determining individual antioxidants, electrogenerated bromine was proposed as a regent for the coulometric determination of the antioxidant capacity of aqueous and aqueous-alcoholic extracts of 35 phytopreparations

Utilization of an In Vivo Reporter for High Throughput Identification of Branched Small Molecule Regulators of Hypoxic Adaptation

SummarySmall molecules inhibiting hypoxia inducible factor (HIF) prolyl hydroxylases (PHDs) are the focus of drug development efforts directed toward the treatment of ischemia and metabolic imbalance. A cell-based reporter produced by fusing HIF-1α oxygen degradable domain (ODD) to luciferase was shown to work as a capture assay monitoring stability of the overexpressed luciferase-labeled HIF PHD substrate under conditions more physiological than in vitro test tubes. High throughput screening identified novel catechol and oxyquinoline pharmacophores with a “branching motif” immediately adjacent to a Fe-binding motif that fits selectively into the HIF PHD active site in in silico models. In accord with their structure-activity relationship in the primary screen, the best “hits” stabilize HIF1α, upregulate known HIF target genes in a human neuronal line, and exert neuroprotective effects in established model of oxidative stress in cortical neurons

Эффективность и безопасность эрибулина при различных подтипах рака молочной железы: данные из реальной клинической практики в России

The article presents a pooled experience of the use of eribulin in the real clinical practice of treatment of metastatic breast cancer in Russian oncological institutions. The effectiveness of the drug in monotherapy with HER2‑negative breast cancer was analyzed, groups of patients with most effective use of eribulin were identified depending on the localization of metastases, the most effective lines of therapy. The effectiveness of the drug in combination with trastuzumab in HER2‑positive breast cancer is described, as well as toxic reactions.

Duodenogastric refluх: a look at the problem in terms of carcinogenesis

    Get PDF
The role of duodenogastric reflux (DGR) in malignant degeneration of the gastric mucosa. It was demonstrated by immunohistochemistry using monoclonal antibodies to p53, PCNA, CD10, MUC2, MUC5AC, MUC6, CD31 and the polymerase chain reaction to detect CDX1, CDX2, FXR genes. The main carcinogenic components of bile are lysolecithin and conjugated bile acids. Biliary reflux increases the risk of malignant tumors in combination with Helicobacter pylori. DGR is one of the etiological factors for gastric cancer, so it determines the necessity for detailed diagnosis in clinical practice

Prevalence of joint pain and swelling complaints among children of Bashkortostan Republic according to an epidemiological examination

Objective. To study prevalence of joint pain and swelling among children of Bashkortostan republic (BR). Material and methods. A questionnaire study was conducted in 2 cities and 4 country districts of BR. A questionnaire developed by the Institute of rheumatology of RAMS and adapted for children was used. 43907 children aged 0 to 17 years were included. Results. 5490 children and/or their parents (12,5%) reported joint pain, 754 children (1,7%) - swelling. In general pain and swelling were revealed in 5533 children (12,6%). Joint pain and swelling prevalence was higher in urban than in country population. Joint pain predominated in girls, swelling - in boys. Swelling and pain frequency increased with age. It reached maximum by adolescence (12-17 years) but differences in joint pain frequency between children aged 12 to 14 and 15 to 17 were not statistically significant. Conclusion. Joint complaints (pain and/or swelling) are quite frequent among children and adolescents (12,6%). At present the second phase of the study is being conducted: advanced clinical, laboratory and instrumental examination of children having joint symptoms
